This one was just ok for me. Not sure why it wasn't up to the normal of the rest of the series. I really hate the new boss, laughed at the history that he and Mia have, she made a good choice there. Then at the end when we got to know his thoughts, I think what happened to him is going to be a good thing as long as it doesn't affect Ella or Mia.
The crime they were working on was creepy. More so when you find out why and who the bad guy was. I felt bad for him, despite his actions.
If I had to compare this book to the others within the series, it was not my favorite admittedly. There was already a novel within the series regarding riddles, and this one I would consider elementary (which was sort of the point). I was sad to see one major character leave and to have a negative character come in (but there has to be conflict), but the epilogue leads to some interest in the next novel (but makes me nervous for Ripley!).
-Needs major editing 🙃 -Character development is moving faster in these latter books, which I love -Why did they not question the change with Edis? -I liked that this one broke up some of the fighting patterns. Each book is a fantastic stand alone, but with a series this long, the formula needs some changing up! -Cliffhanger I did not see coming!!
So, I normally enjoy audiobooks especially when I am doing chores that aren't fun. This audiobook was in a very singsong voice, and was actually irritating, which was definitely detracting.
Love this series it got me back into reading love the friendship and just the way it feels real isn't over the top seem like crimes and events that could happen
