The Mister Series #5

Mister Musician

Rate this book
Music, money, and marriage—those are the three things tying Saint to Tristan. Their marriage has never been about love, and for quite some time, Saint has been okay with that. He’s loved his music more than anything and had no desire for a healthy, loving romantic relationship or children. Just when Saint believes he’s going to spend the rest of his life married to a woman that drives him crazy, Tristan betrays him in one of the worse ways possible, forcing Saint to have to choose between marriage to her and his music or divorce and his freedom… even if that means his music career will temporarily be over.

After losing her best friend to cancer, Harmony promises to never let a relationship end on bad terms. Fast forward several years later, and Harmony finds herself facing that same battle—this time with the man she loves. Harmony’s relationship with her fiancé, Keith, has been suffering for months. Between Keith’s failing health and random bouts with depression, he leaves little room for Harmony to be a priority in their partnership. As Harmony struggles between putting herself first and being a good partner, Keith’s actions make the choice for her, ending their relationship in the process.

When Saint and Harmony meet, neither are in the market for love or even lust. The harder they try to stay away from each other, the more fate pulls them together. Like magnets, their bodies, hearts, and minds connect and become one. Just when the pair believes they are up for their happily ever after, ex partners and an unfair hand dealt by life threatens to rip them apart. Will love become the sweetest melody Mister Musician has ever played, or will his failed marriage cause him to close his heart for good, making him a one-hit love wonder?

Whew... after the prelude, I was so interested to read this one; as it intrigued me the most! B, I was not ready to learn of the trauma Saint had endured in his life! Although he had it rough, all of those experiences, shaped the man he has become! He didn't understand love, and wasn't affectionate, but showed his appreciation for those he cared for with his time. Just how does one go from loving and supporting, to hate, vindictive and devious behavior? That damn Tristan! 😠 I wanted to just punch her in the throat one good time! Ughhh..... 🤬 She had me so heated with the way she treated Saint, and it was all her damn fault! As difficult as it was, I was thrilled that Saint finally found an escape from her! Saint meeting Harmony, was a means to an end, but turned into so much more! When he laid eyes on this woman, he knew that his vow to stay away from women was dead! Their connection was immediate, the chemistry was hot and there was no way to stop this thing from happening! Harmony too, was not looking for anything after what she had just gone through. But, Saint was handsome and charismatic, she couldn't resist. I loved the way Harmony fed positivity into Saint, when he began to doubt who he was without music! Saint thought he was ignorant to love, but being with the right person led him there without much effort! I really enjoyed this couple! Good job! 👍👍👍

the feels..

4.5 ✨The story, Mister Musician, was the heaviest story of the Mister series thus far. But, also, it is one that I related to the most. It follows two separate couples whose relationships have hit their ceilings.

Saint is a musician in an unfulfilling marriage and Harmony is engaged to a man battling cancer for the third time. Saint and Harmony were instantly attracted to each other once they left their former relationships. It was interesting how quickly Saint found himself wanting Harmony after saying he wasn’t the relationship type. I believe Saint being unable to create music really helped him to find his true purpose and that was an underrated twist in the story.

The author did a good job by tackling heavy topics, such as reading literacy, depression, the impact cancer has on mental health, contracts, amongst other things. At times it was a lot to unpack but the topics helped to drive the story. I loved Harmony and Saint together! It’s something about being loved right. 💕I will say both characters had a level of maturity that I don’t have because Keith and Tristan would have to see me for the way they handled their breakups. Tristan got off too easy, bitter isn’t even the word to describe her. I would recommend.

He can sing to me

I absolutely adored Mr. Musician, and he met his match in Harmony. For a minute I hoped his evil manager would not win. Thanks for looking out for Mister...

I really wanted to feel bad for Tristan.... And almost thought I was going to absolutely despise of Saint. I was ready to label him a F-BOY and leave it at that. But, then once I got the full backstory. I felt so bad for him.

While yes, he was not faithful to her. He told her UP FRONT and she was okay with it. So, he thought she would be. The main issue here was them getting married. They should've kept it strictly business. I don't care how "beneficial" they thought it would be to tie the knot. If a man told me straight up that in marriage he could not give me what I needed and would intentionally not be faithful!?!??!!? ABSOLUTELY TF NOT! Unfortunately, she thought with time he would come around and she'd become "Special "enough for him to change. That never happened... In return she did everything, and I mean everything that she could to hurt this man. Instead of just letting him go and focusing on herself.

Now that's out the way....

I thought once things got bad with him and Tristan. He'd stay single and or just do his thing and become a top notch H03. However, Harmony was the BEST thing that happened to him. Saint was also that for her. While he wasn't ready to commit to Tristan. He KNEW right away with Harmony he wanted marriage, kids and all the things. She changed that mans whole life around, most importantly his perspective on love and relationships. That's why it's so important to heal any past hurt/trauma from you past. Because, it shows up later in you romantic relationships when you don't.

Harmony's situation was the perfect representation of no matter how good you are to someone. That does not mean they will do right by you. Keith literally didn't want to do nothing with the woman that was with him in sickness (literally) and in health. But, soon as his little friends come around, he wanted to turn up. I'm glad sis stood on business and didn't let him come back once he realized he had F'd up! I commend her on being mature and holding the necessary conversations to put a healthy, much needed end to them.

The relationship and bond Harmony and Saint built was so solid. He had that girl in Paris on a Monday and Korea on a Friday. IF HE WANTED TO, HE WOULD! Saint did a literal 360 for Harmony and he made it a point to not only be faithful, but to give Harmony all he could and whatever it was she needed from him. Even with knowing before her he could never do that with any other woman.

I am so invested in this series. I can not get enough! Honey and Khalil were about to get married in this book. So I'm excited to hear more about how their wedding went. As well as catch up with Saint and Harmony. I KNOW they are next!

On to book #6 I go!!!!

Mister Musician

Mister Musician feels as if it were specifically created to pull at the heartstrings of the reader. From the beginning we’re thrust into manipulation, fear, and hatred… and that’s all in Saint’s POV. When it comes to Harmony, we’re hit with guilt and the pain she feels holds the reader tightly. We aren’t able to breathe easily until the two meet. The author did a great job of pulling me into the story and having me FEEL with the characters.
What I liked about Mister Musician was the communication between Saint and Harmony. Because of the trauma’s of their past neither one allowed room for confusion.
With every book, the series gets better! You will not be disappointed with Saint and Harmony.
Happy reading 💖

Soooooooo good! My first five star read of 2023.

I truly thought that Mr. Librarian in the series was my favorite but this one...whew...top contender. This author held nothing back in this story. We got the perfect villain in Tristan...whew, can we say evil with a capital E? Character development deserves the chef's kiss because the evolution of Saint was beautiful to behold and Harmony, I absolutely adore her! This book gave me intimacy and spirituality, a phenomenal combination. Of course Saint is BDE but his heart under the love of Harmony...even bigger. My 1st five star read of 2023. Soooo good!!!

Mister Musician by Author B. Love is an amazing read. I couldn't put this book down! Saint and Harmony are my favorite couple by far in this series. The way that Saint and Harmony were there for each other was amazing. I loved how Saint poured into Harmony and Harmony poured into him. This book definitely had me in a book hangover. I know the year has just begun but Mister Musician is one of my top reads so far for 2023. B. Love pen is amazing!

Wow I loved loved this story. At first I thought it was going to be Saint just dealing with being in a dead end marriage but oh how it wasn’t. He found his one and vice versa she found her one. They both were there for each other.

I didn't care much for this book or for the Main Character SAINT, which was ANYTHING BUT A 'SAINT' in this story. I didn't like Saint, nor did I like the main character, with a title called MISTER MUSICIAN, I THOUGHT that this would be a story on a character who exuded sweet, intelligent, & enlightened charismatic mannerisms that would permeate throughout his music from his heart, soul, & spirit. But IT WASN'T.
I didn't feel what other reviewers who'd read the book and the series about the main character WHOM I SURMISED WAS SELFISH, DESPITE BEING SOMEONE'S HUSBAND. I DIDN'T FEEL SORRY FOR HIM FOR WILLFULLY MARRYING A WOMAN NAMED TRISTAN, WHO SEEMED TO HAD WISELY PROTECTED HERSELF IN THE EVENT THAT HER SELFISH, UNAFFECTIONATE HUSBAND WOULD DO WHAT MOST GUYS SIMILAR LIKE Saint WOULD DO ONCE THEY FOUND A SOME SUCCESS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY: FORGET AND NEGLECT THEIR MATRIMONIAL VOWS AND PROMISES THEY'D MADE TO THEIR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, START FEELING THAT THEY WANT/NEED SOME "SPACE", WHILE REPEATEDLY PLUNGING INTO THE "SPACES" THAT LAY BETWEEN SOMEONE'S LEGS (& OTHER BODILY PARTS!), LIVING LIFE AS IF THEY WERE SINGLE AGAIN WITHOUT LEGALLY OBTAINING A DIVORCE FROM THEIR WIVES! TRISTAN took it upon herself to smartly ensure that her fickle a**hole husband couldn't just easily break up WHAT THEY BUILT TOGETHER simply because HE WAS UNHAPPY with THEIR LIVES!
THOUGH I'M Ambivalent towards TRISTAN, I DON'T FEEL AT ALL BADLY FOR HER HUSBAND! IN THE LONG RUN, IT WASN'T WHAT HE BARGAINED FOR BUT IT'S WHAT HE BOUGHT! AND YOU CAN'T AT ALL BE MAD AT SOMEONE WHO SAW AN OPPORTUNITY WITH PLANS TO UTILIZE THE CAPITAL THEY HELD WHENEVER THEIR MAN/SIGNIFICANT OTHER BEGAN TO ACT 'BRAND NEW' ON YOU & MADE PLANS TO MAKE MOVES WHILE THROWING UP THE MIDDLES ON BOTH HANDS AT YOU!
SAINT WAS IN CLEAR A**HOLE MODE WHEN HE TOLD HIS NEW VICTIM/LADY LOVE HARMONY-WHO WAS LOOKING FOR LOVE & AFFECTION FROM ANYONE WITH A D**K BECAUSE HER FIANCE HAD BEEN SO WRAPPED UP IN HIS OWN B*LLSH!T THAT HE NEGLECTED THE WOMAN HE'D BEEN ENGAGED TO-(SAINT) BLUNTLY TOLD HARMONY IN A MATTER OF WORDS: DON'T GO CATCHIN' FEELINGS FOR A N*GGA WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO RETURN THE SENTIMENT, DESPITE HIS WHORISH WAYS! HE WAS SOOOOOOOOOO INSENSITIVE TO INFORM HARMONY THIS RIGHT BEFORE THEY WERE ABOUT TO HUMP AROUND WITH EACH OTHER!
THE MOST RIDICULOUS PART WAS HARMONY WAS SO DESPERATE FOR THE 'COMPANY & TOUCH OF A MALE' THAT SHE DEVALUED HERSLEF BY NOT SEEMING TO CARE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER THAT SAINT WAS PLANNING TO USE HER FOR MOSTLY HIS OWN BENEFIT!IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT HARMONY SELF-LOVE FOR HERSELF!
THE AUTHOR INSINUATED THAT SAINT & HARMONY WILL MARRY IN A FUTURE BOOK,BUT ONE WOULD, OR AT LEAST SHOULD, WONDER: IF EITHER OF THESE CHARACTERS HARMONY & ESPECIALLY SAINT SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT MARRIAGE GIVEN ONE (SAINT)IS SELFISH & THE OTHER(HARMONY) HAD BEEN ENGAGED,YET UNFULFILLED, ONCE UPON A TIME WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
IF ANYTHING, NEITHER CHARACTER SHOULD BE DOING ANYTHING ON THE LEVEL OF A COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER UNTIL ONE (SAINT) LEARNS HOW TO BE SELF-LESS & LOVING TOWARDS SOMEONE OTHER THAN HIMSELF, & THE OTHER (HARMONY) LEARNS HOW SELF-LOVE & SELF-CARE!

After reading The Mister Series Prelude, this is the story that I was most looking forward to reading.

Saint is a rapper who married a childhood friend, Tristan because he felt like he owed her for her loyalty and help. He was honest from the beginning by telling her that he would sleep with other women and that he did not know how to be in a romantic relationship. Tristan agreed and was cool with this until she wasn't.

This book is packed with so much mess and drama and I loved every minute of it. Tristan was trifling, scandalous and raggedy. 🤣🤣If you looked up stupid in the dictionary her picture would be there. She put Saint through so much drama and still ended up losing in the end.

Once Saint finally got up the courage to end things with Tristan, he meets Harmony. Harmony is a breath of fresh air. She is love and light and harmony. Harmony isn't really looking for a relationship, she's fresh out of a breakup with her ex-fiancé of two years. Saint who's newly divorced isn't looking for anything serious. However, when the two meet, they are instantly attracted to each other. Harmony becomes his safe place and teaches him how to love and he slowly lets down his guard. She soon discovers that Saint is the man of her dreams.

IMO Tristan carried this whole book. Her ridiculous antics were some of the best parts of the book.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I wasn’t sure how I felt about the some what open marriage between Saint and Tristan it was so dang Toxic it made me a bit nauseous. When she was so cavalier about the fact she had participated in a three some and contracted one of the worse STD. and didn’t bother to mention it to Saint because she purposely wanted to hurt him and the women he spent the majority of his time with I was done with her..I know it’s easy to dislike the male in these situations however Tristian was a manipulative witch. I kept yelling just divorce her! Not that he could hear me 😅

Then there was Harmony and her conniving fiancé Keith. Can I just say I feel like there was some untold secret that was driving his instability, beyond what wade plaid in he story . I could empathize with Harmony for a moment but after awhile I found my self screaming “Just leave him !”

As I starting reading this story I was wondering ho
W in the heck Saint and Harmony would ever recover from the hurt of being emotionally robbed and deceived by people who seemed to take pleasure out of purposely hurt them. Well B.Love used that creative gift of hers and came up with a for them to meet and once they did I chuckled and said let’s see how long this is going to last because between Keith and Tristian I just knew their relationship was truly doomed.
B.Love this was a great read. Thanks

Honestly, I forgot about this series. The books are good but most of them didn't give like I had expected them to when the author first released the novella detailing the characters for the series. There's no 'umph' to them. They start off good then it takes forever to get to the finish line and I get bored. At that point, I just want the book to end. This one was no different.

Saint's situation was a mess and pretty f#%ked up too, because he didn't deserve any of what Tristin did to him. That woman was treacherous.

Harmony spent most of her time crying about everything. That got old quick. She should've taken some time for herself after her break-up instead of jumping into something so quickly with Saint. She also gave Keith way too much grace after the way he talked down to her. That man gave her his entire ass to kiss, yet she continued to entertain him when he dropped by unannounced (this is a problem in itself) and dry his tears whenever he felt like crying. Just doing too damn much. She should've let that man go on about his business, while she went on about hers.

3.5 stars.

I did think the narration of the audiobook was nicely done. It did enhance my dislike of both Tristan and Keith, and sympathy for Saint and Harmony. Although I felt like a large part of Harmony's situation had to do with guilt.

Harmony and Keith 's story could have been told in one chapter as far as I was concerned. I spent all those chapters wondering if he was lying about his health, and why she never confronted him about where he was when he was "feeling better". It sounded like a scam to me.

Saint and Harmony did come together really fast and not until much further into the book. I was glad when it was fully explained why Saint found himself in that bind with Tristan. It was more complicated than trust.

Saint was a really good man. I would not have wasted a phone call on Tristan. Even one of the very last things she did was mean spirited and selfish. The last gesture she made was still selfish, so she never did anything to redeem herself during this book.

Actually, all these people needed to seek a good therapist.

This book just goes to prove that old adage about the best revenge is a life well lived.

Never settle

Tristian should’ve loved herself enough not to settle for what Saint had to offer. She should’ve knew when to just walk away I know it’s hard when you love someone but you have to love you first before you can love someone else. Had she truly loved herself from the beginning she would’ve just stayed his friend and be genuinely there for Saint knowing what he went through. Had that happened maybe he would’ve truly been able to grow into the person she wanted him to be. But we all know that no one will change until they are ready. Even when it seemed that he truly wanted to be with Whitney she wasn’t the right person and when he finally found Harmony he knew that she was the one that was truly for him. All I keep thinking is what if Tristian pop back up later with a baby and it’s revealed that she never got rid of it boy oh boy it will be hell to pay. Keith all I can say is 🤦🏽‍♀️ smh

I love this!!

Please can we unalive Tristan and Keith please!! Keith played with my girl Harmony so bad I was rooting for C A N C E R to take him out!! And that text sent me over the edge, only for him to come slithering back once he saw her happy...yeah he gotta go!

Tristan never loved Saint at all she was a predator and opportunist! Cartier needed to lay hands on her!! She got off too easy I wouldn't have minded those books being fake!

Saint and Harmony were like puzzle pieces...they were the perfect fit and I love their love for each other!

I don't have an active father...nor do I know anyone with one so I really appreciated Harmony's father's words when he met Saint and he said he told Keith to treat her right but she stayed past time so he instructed her to make sure she left when or if Saint changed. Thanks for that fatherly advice cause I takes a difference hearing it come from a dad to his daughter.

Ok… I’m not sure how to say this, but these books keep better as the series goes on, although the characters weren’t my favorite🥴. I loved Saint and Harmony loads, but that Tristan, wheeeew she made me want to yank her out of this book by her bundles! How can one toxic character play such a strong part??? Just read the book😒
I try hard not to base a book’s rating on its characters, and because this book was excellent, that wasn’t really a problem. The problem I have is waiting for the next book to drop! B. Love is doing her thing with this book. I could not wait to get to Saint’s story because I needed him to have a win and a win is what he got!
The fact that Harmony was so good and pure made her perfect for Saint. He fell in love without even realizing it, and I loved that moment. This storyline was one of the best so far… the treachery, acceptance, growth, and compassion in this book made it one of my favorites in this series (after Mister Jeweler because that story was crazzzzy). I can’t wait for Tyreek’s book because he hasn’t been on my radar, and those are always the ones that become bae🤷🏾‍♀️.

Real love pops up even when you aren’t searching for it..

Sometimes, you have to leave a toxic relationship to find something healthy and makes you whole. That’s what Saint and Harmony did. They both should’ve left WAYYYY before they did but the timing was right for them to meet.

I hate the Saint was so careless but his carelessness bought him love. True love at that. Harmony did what needed to be done to see her man happy. She sold something priceless to someone who deserved nothing but a two piece and a biscuit. I’m glad they found each other despite them both recently getting out of relationships.

Tristan my girl you need help and some medication.

Keith just focus on yourself. Please. All in all I enjoyed this book just like I have the entire series. Ready for Tyreek.

Awesome Read

Saint dealt with so much, especially from Tristan. He just decided to give everything up to rid himself of her and her toxicity. He deserved his peace. Harmony put up with so much from Keith. He used her and she allowed it. After her Thanksgiving breakup, she wasn't expecting love from another man any time soon. Interviewing Saint changed everything about her perspective on relationships, as well as his. They both fell hard and fast in spite of saying they wouldn't get into a relationship. Keith kept trying to come back into the picture, but Harmony refused to allow him to disrupt her happiness. Tristan did come in to upset Saint, but Harmony was there every step of his healing. Saint had finally found true love in Harmony and she would give to him as much as he did her! Great read, B!

At first I didn’t think I wasn’t going to like this story but I’m happy that it turns out I loved it. Sure had me side eyeing him in the beginning but he definitely redeemed himself and baby the first time I really started liking his character was that first day at the library for his interview and he couldn’t help but be honest with Harmony about his attraction to her. What was the icing on the cake for that scene was her honesty for her attraction to him. Two grown people able to be open and honest with each other throughout their whole situation was definitely a breath of fresh air. No pretending and wasting time denying feelings that be in so many books it’s annoying. I wish more could be like these two. Excellent read. Although Tristan definitely did not deserve all that money but Saints reaction was worth it and I respect Harmony and Khalil a lot for that.

I loved Mister Musician, he might even be 2nd after Mister Librarian. I'd like to start with saying that Tristan is EVIL. I thought I knew where this story was going to go but I was absolutely wrong and I'm happy I was. I felt so bad for both Saint and Harmony, because they were two good people in bad relationships. Keith was a piece of work, like he really tried Harmony and I didn't appreciate that at all! I knew from their first meeting that the casual stuff wasn't going to last long. I feel like I say this all the time, but I felt the chemistry between those two. I also really enjoyed the development of Saint's character. I wasn't expecting him to have so much depth and for him to grow the way he did. He just needed the right partner. Harmony was a little too timid for me in the beginning, but like Saint, we got to see her level up as well. What she did for him to be FREE really warmed my heart. THAT is how you love somebody. There were some heavier topics discussed, cancer and the mental/physical effects it has on a relationship, reading literacy, depression, even how predatory and backwards the music industry can be. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next one!!

HARMONY & SAINT

This story came together nicely for Saint and Harmony. I really enjoyed it and I'm loving how this series is coming together. Saint and Harmony were both stuck in relationships that were either one-sided when it came to feelings or strictly out of spite, selfishness and control. You can literally feel the tug of war they were experiencing when it came to their exes. Tristan was horrible and didn't win after all she's done. I felt Keith definitely played on Harmony's caring nature and should have appreciated her more for all she's done for him. But Tristan and Keith's loss was a winning gain for Harmony and Saint. So glad they got their happily ever after with each other.

Not my favorite

This was a slow burn for me. Harmony and Saint don’t even get introduced until Chapter 18 (almost 100 pages in) and once they do their relationship moves very quickly. In my opinion, too much time was spent on their backstory and their exes. That really could have been condensed and we still would have got the point. Keith was a nuisance and it was unnecessary for him to keep randomly popping up. As for Tristan, I’ve never disliked a character as much as I disliked her, almost to the point I didn’t want to finish the book. Her character was so over-the-top, it started to take away from my enjoyment of reading this.

On a positive note, the book was written well and it was great to catch up on the other characters from the series.

My Heart Exploded

This was AMAZING! I can’t Phaethon never experiencing genuine love. To capture someone’s dreams and hold it hostage out of bitterness is shameful. Knowing someone has given you their whole heart and you don’t deserve it, yet you take advantage of it and abuse it is deplorable. I cried so many versions of tears reading this. Harmony is Me. I am and have always been Keith’s version of Harmony. I want to learn to be who Saint allowed to come forth. Whew God I Thank You! B. Love showed me love, repair and stepping out on faith. I can’t wait for Tyreek.

sweetest read of the new year🥰

I ❤️ ❤️ love love loved ❤️ this story!!

It was soooo full of pain, passion😈💦🔥 and ❤️ Love.

That Tristan was sooooo wrong for her actions, you can’t force love. Don’t get me started on that reckless behavior 😡. I felt so bad for Saint but he was definitely no saint😇

Harmony was such a sweetheart and so loyal, even to one who did not deserve it. Her and Saints chemistry was amazing from the very first meet. I am glad she got the chance to teach him how to love her and he willingly learned. An update would be great on these 2👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WOW! A thousand times over!

You have GOT to read this book. Whew! I couldn't put it down it was so good. I am so in love with Saint and Harmony. My prayer and goal is to have what she got...the good she so deserved. I've already been through the bad. This story completely restored my hope. I know it's "just a story", but it’s also "real life stuff". Amazingly written. They need a part 2 book because I want to know how the community center does. Does Saint go back on tour and if so, for how long? What were the other artists' reactions to what Harmony did? I have questions that need answers B. Love!

Love sets you free

Harmony was stuck in a relationship with Keith out of fear of something happening to him if she didn't stay. He was battling on and off with cancer and because of losing someone close to her due to a sickness she felt she needed to stay.

Saint was stuck in his marriage to Tristan. Not only was she his wife she was also his manager. He had signed a contract stating that if they ever divorced he would lose all rights to his music for 10 years

Both having circumstantial situations that caused them to end their relationships but it brought them into each others lives at the perfect time. Both not knowing they were what the other needed
