For the past few years, I have been working as a compliance professional within the financial industry. I purchased this book in order to broaden my knowledge of the field and find potential practical solutions for compliance related issues that I witness in my work. This was not what I took out from the book. I have to admit, the book is well-written for those who would want a glimpse into the world of governance, risk management and compliance. It touches upon many crucial topics including the importance of corporate culture, setting the tone at the top, implementing and the importance of ERM implementation, However, it does not offer much to those who are already established compliance officers or risk managers. For European readers like myself, I should add that the book is very much focused on the American governance culture and regulations. That being said, I would still suggest this book as a good read to the members of the board of the organization I am working for.
