RUNNING FROM THE SUPERNATURAL GOVERNMENT? ONE OUT OF TEN. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I was an average witch with an average gift. Now, I'm an average witch with a touch of dragon. I can even breathe fire. My life is no longer dull, but it's not exciting, either. Well, it isn't until my nemesis, Raven Davenport, frames me for murder and the detectives come knocking.
I'm the first to react when shit hits the fan, but evading the Acting Body on Behalf of Supernaturals probably wasn't the best decision. Now I have no choice but to enter the Realm of Destiny and remove the tether between me and Jaxon Shaw, the last dragon. When Detective Warrick catches up to me and I'm thrown into a high-security cell at The Compound, I realise three things.
I may never have my freedom. my ninja skills aren't likely to improve any time soon. antagonising Raven just might kill me... if the vampire I attacked in prison doesn't get to me first.
I'm Tatum Pierce. A witch turning into a dragon, stabber of vampires, and lover of making people uncomfortable. If I don't find a way out of this prison, my life isn't the only one on the line. I'll do everything in my power to protect my dragon, even if it means returning to the Realm of Destiny and angering the Hands of Fate.

Samara is a fantasy author from Melbourne, Australia, where she lives with her three kids, partner, and an English staffy named Boots. While she loves Melbourne, she grew up surrounded by a large family in north-west Tasmania, and misses the quiet life. When she's not writing, you'll find her reading, drinking coffee, camping, or playing Monopoly with her kids.
This book continues where we left off from the previous book and I'm glad we got to see the end consequences of Tatum's actions from the first book.
Overall, I liked this book. However, I feel like the writing and story wasn't quite as refined as the first book but it was still entertaining and I wanted to know what happened. As an American I was good with the Australian English, it was interesting to read and had no problem reading. I think I struggled with the pacing and the main character's relationship development. It was a little too hot and cold between the main characters that found the relationship a little difficult to believe.
The ending was satisfying and wraps up the loose ends of the first book. I enjoyed the story overall and would be interested in reading the next book especially if they go to Faerie! I really want them to go so we can explore with them! lol
3.2 out of 5 rating for me!

Picking up book two of the Dragon's Oath Series. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Tatum is back again with humor and the brightening of crappy situations! Her banter is lightheated and fun, her ninja skills have definitely improved. Her love for chocolate will forever hold a part in my heart. She is struggling with accepting some parts of what has happened and her changing circumstances. She is a bundle of fun and a 'true enigma'. Will Tatum and Jaxon break their bond or accept it?? Guess you will have to read and find out. We get to see the evolution of Tatum and Jaxons relationship and some sneaky answers, building more questions along the way. Not going to lie some answers were not what I had predicted and was happily surprised.
This is urban fantasy set in Australia and is Book 2 in the series. It has *Dragons *Witches *Vampires *Magic *Shifters *Other worlds/realms *Urban Setting
The ARC I received from Samara, Enigma, did not disappoint. There was no way I could love this series more than I did, but Enigma proved me wrong. A new nemesis for book 3 is introduced, along with more information about the FMC and the MMC and their mate bond drama. We're once again taken on an adventure as Tate and Jaxon work out their differences while fighting for the truth. Unlike the last time I read something in one sitting, I was able to read this in ONE SITTING. I was so enthralled with the story that before I knew it, I had finished the book. I'm already looking forward to the next installment in the series! The plot is exhilarating and the characters are well-developed, making it easy to become invested in the story. The author also does a great job of weaving the subplots together, creating a cohesive, engaging story that keeps the reader engaged throughout.
I was an ARC reader for Book 1 and did not hesitate to be an ARC reader for Book 2!!!
I was sucked straight back into the story joining the characters on their rollercoaster adventure from start to finish.
I didn't think it was possible to fall more in love with this series, but Enigma proved me wrong. We discover more about the FMC, the MMC and their mate bond drama, we meet another ally in their fight for justice and we are introduced to a new nemesis for book 3..
I am so excited for the next installment and the rollercoaster ride adventure.
Easily another 5 star read..
Thank you so much Samara for introducing me to such an amazing series and characters and giving me the opportunity to ARC read for you.
The focus is on Tatum Pierce, a witch in the odd situation of trying to figure out how to break a mate bond with Jaxon Shaw, the last dragon shifter, because now she can even breathe fire! (It’s a nice party trick, but tends to irritate people.) Listening to her snark along the way is so much fun that I couldn’t stop chuckling.
Then she has to deal with an issue with Raven Davenport who puts her in the hot seat when he frames her for murder. She needs to go into the Realm of Destiny to remove the tether connecting Jaxon and her. Then she gets locked up in a high-security cell when they capture her. Is there a good part of her day we may have missed?
Enigma is the second book in Samara Saward's Dragon's Oath Series and follows Tatum Pierce on the run from the supernatural government until she gets caught and locked up in The Compound.
We follow Tatum as she navigates not only her survival inside The Compound but also her hearts desires.
I feel like this book lacked a little compared to the first book, don't get me wrong I totally enjoyed reading it and absolutely still loved the characters especially Tatum I just don't feel as if it was as good or better then the first. You should still read it, though.
Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book, I was excited to read book two in this series. It did not disappoint. Enigma builds upon the first book with some impressive world building, introducing a unique urban fantasy setting of its own, and not relying on existing common settings. The characters and their stories grow beyond what was established in the first book in a very satisfying way. I am anxiously looking forward to seeing where Tatum and Jax go next and eagerly await the next instalment in this series.

Tatum’s relationship with Jaxon intensifies and they find themselves in some interesting and dangerous situations. I laughed at the trouble that Tatum found herself in and in others I felt sorry for her! This is great writing and kept me engrossed from the first page. This story is fun, flirty, full of snark and sass and is so much fun! The good thing is that this story didn’t end on a cliffhanger but at the right moment so you feel like you are happy to wait for the next book. This is a great series and I think that this book is even better than the first one.
Tate is your basic run of the mill witch now that her 'special gift' is gone. Except for her ever increasing tether to the last known dragon shifter. He knows how to push all her buttons and bring out all the sass as they try and figure out how to break the mate bond they are trapped in before it becomes a permanent thing. I absolutely loved this story. I loved watching tate grow as she was forced into new situations and her smart a* comments kept me giggling even through some terrifying times.
Reading this series by saward? Ten out of ten recommend.
This book kicked off right from where book 1 left off. You can expect all the same broody and sassy vibes as book 1 but with a tighter knit found family building in this one. Plots and betrayal are deep. Redemption is also found here where you didn’t think it would come, even though that part doesn’t have a HEA there is still plenty of wins/positivities to be seen. Book 3 will be interesting, wondering which direction it will go and if we will get a spin off with some of the characters we have met in this one!
She’s done it again! (this goes for both Tatum as the FMC and Samara as the author!)
As Tate and Jaxon work themselves out, while fighting for the truth, we’re once again taken on a roller coaster of adventure, smart ass comments, and a chocolate obsession!
Do yourself a favour, get this series on your TBR immediately, and join the rest of us impatiently waiting for Book 3 💙💙
My love for this series continues to grow! Enigma dives us straight back in from the chaos of the first book, with possible new powers, a brother turned Into a vamp and an attraction to the last dragon shifter on earth, what else is going to land on Tatum's plate? What's a bad ass meant to do but go with the punches or you know land some of those punches yourself and continue on swinging.
This was PHENOMENAL!!! Add to your TBR Stat!! I didn't think I could love this series anymore than I did with the first book but this one blew me away! I have been in a reading slump for 4 days and then boom read this in ONE SITTING!!!
Paranormal romances, so good, so...yummy. There's just something about them that keeps us coming back for more, isn't there? And this one by Saward is no exception!.

I was so excited to see where Tatum & Jaxs’ story went! And Samara did not disappoint. The twist and turns, the slow burn, the longing, the action! I absolutely loved this book! Please tell me there is going to be a book 3???? I need more of their story
In Samara Saward, Enigma, we meet up with Tatum Pierce and Jaxon Shaw right after they have escaped from the explosion at Philomon's warehouse. Tatum isn’t really coping very well after losing her dragon manipulation gift, not being able to save her brother, the loss of her aunt, and growing bond with Jaxon. On top of all of that Raven Davenport just showed back up and is now trying to frame her for murder. What is really going on? So to try to protect her Jaxon takes her on the run from the ABBS. While on the run Tatum and Jax come across a witch that helps them come up with a temporary solution on what to do about their growing mate bond. Apparently Tatum have no choice but to enter the Realm of Destiny and remove the tether between her and Jaxon. Good thing she did that that too because upon her return Detective Warrick arrest her and she is thrown into a high-security cell at The Compound. While in prison Tatum realizes in order to survive she just might have to embrace her new growing dragon and stop being afraid to accept help from others. Read to see what will happen to Jaxon and Tatum will they break their bond permanently or will they finally give in and accept it? Will Tatum be able to save her brother and end Raven’s life or will lol Raven finally get her revenge on Jaxon Shaw by ruining Tatum life and killing him? I guess you will have to read the book yourself and find out answers! I received this book via Booksprout as an ARC for my honest opinion and I honestly loved it. I would definitely recommend that you read book.
