Rate this book
Dust, the new comic book series from Dust Press. This issue, Fire From Heaven, pits the masked priests of Baal against the prophet in a battle that is un-categorically decided by something not of this world. Death and drought are consuming the land but only through more death can its grip finally be loosed. A challenge is issued and soon the entire nation gathers for the battle of a lifetime. Can a solitary man lead the people where they dare not go?

“How long will you waver between two opinions?”

This famous quote from the story of Elijah is the central theme behind a new, independent comic book called, Dust.

Conceived in Grand Rapids, MI (my home town) Dust is a bi-monthly series, featuring biblical stories set tastefully in the comic book medium. Written and drawn by local artist, Alan Close, with consultation by Kent Dobson, Dust has the authentic design and story-telling of a mainstream comic book with the depth and accuracy essential to sharing scripture.

A unique feature to Dust is the commentary section by Kent Dobson. Dobson’s insights will generate further discussion on the stories presented and direct readers to engage scripture on a deeper level. Each issue will also contain the complete biblical text used in creating Dust.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in reading a fresh presentation of biblical stories. It would also be a great way to introduce some Scripture to those who aren’t interested in reading a Bible.
