Rev. Kenneth Erwin Hagin, known as the “father of the modern faith movement,” served in Christian ministry for nearly 70 years.

Really great and encouraging. I like how the author takes a thorough approach, answering questions by letting the Bible speak. In fact, all he says and all his conclusions are biblically corroborated. Very, very powerful and deep, but written in a way so everyone can understand, with lots of illustrations from Kenneth Hagin's life and ministry.

I read this book at the request of one of my staff members, and my purpose in reading the book was to be able to understand the basis for his beliefs concerning the gift of tongues. The book reads as a series of vignettes detailing the author's personal experience of "teaching" and "leading" different individuals to speak in tongues. As I read the book, I was amazed at how little the author used Scripture to validate his statements concerning tongues. To make a rough estimate on the basis of the content of the book, I would guess that the author relies on about 1% Scripture and 99% personal experience. Kenneth Hagin is well known as a leader within the Word of Faith Movement, a movement that is considered a cult by almost all mainstream Protestant denominations, including those within the charismatic movement. Please, do not waste your time reading this book!

This book is by far the best book that I have read on the subject. For anyone that has ever had doubts, or thought that the whole aspect of speaking in tongues was creepy, or nursed any number of other similar misconceptions, this book is for you. Rev. Kenneth E Hagin (who is in his eternal home now) lays down a sound biblical basis for the incredible power and merits of praying in other tongues.
I would highly recommend it for every born again Christian, and the curious, of course! I am so glad that I own this copy because I can see myself return to it often to remind myself of the lessons I learned here.

Hands down, one of the best spiritual books I’ve ever read!
I heard Pastor Nancy Dufresne recommend this book highly on one of her YouTube chats. She detailed some of her personal breakthroughs from spending hours in prayer and praying in the spirit. I was so fascinated by her testimony that I bought this book.
I knew nothing about Kenneth Hagin somehow, other than seeing his books around my house growing up, as my Mom used to read them. What a power punching preacher he was! This man would spend whole nights praying in the spirit until he received divine revelation from God. He covers many of his spiritual gifts and breakthroughs in this book. He states he has never failed to have been warned about a danger, illness, or accident with a close family member in 60 years of ministry. Now that is an almost unreal claim to make, but he explains further in this book how he got to that place of intimacy with God.
In this book he covers every area of speaking in tongues scripturally:
-He refutes 4 common objections to speaking in tongues
-Proves the gift of tongues is a separate gift from salvation
-Covers guidelines to receive the Holy Spirit
-Explains it’s way more than a one time experience
-Why tarrying meetings are unnecessary as the Holy Spirit is received by Faith.
And much more…
Kenneth Hagin also shares his personal experience of getting baptized in the Holy Spirit at a full gospel pastor’s house in 1937. The problem was he himself was a pastor of a small Baptist church at the time. The Baptists do not believe in speaking in tongues. A particular member who had been away on a trip during Kenneth’s baptism remarked to an elder that he noticed a dramatic change in Kenneth Hagin all of the sudden. He said he was somehow even better at preaching now and that strangely you could feel it when he preached. Kenneth Hagin states he did not feel any power during his infilling or difference in his preaching….but evidently others noticed it in his congregation. He says, “The church members were sensing the extra power in my life, even if I wasn’t.”
How awesome is that?
We need Salvation + The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Both together bring the power into our walk with Christ and enable us to sail through the hurdles and pitfalls we all face. Every Christian would benefit from reading this book!

God wants us to move out further in the Spirit and learn how to maneuver in that greater realm of prayer. As we are faithful to obey His call to pray, the day will come when we move beyond the edge of space—further on out into the Spirit—and reach the fullness of God's glory! I'll tell you this much: Jesus is coming. There is no use splitting hairs about that truth, because it will happen, whether you believe it or not! So let us commit ourselves to praying in the Spirit so a great harvest of souls can be reaped in these last days. People are dying, and the end is coming. The end of all things is at hand, and what we do, we must do quickly. The Lord is calling us to prayer, and I, for one, am determined to answer that call. Do you want to go with me? Just declare, "Count me in!" Then walk through the doorway to the supernatural and enter a whole new realm of prayer in the Spirit. It's a realm where revelation, direction, and supernatural communication with God are continually provided to help you fulfill all He's called you to do in this hour.


This book is so well written and well-explanatory that its helps build up both your spiritual hunger and physical hunger for God by speaking in tongues always. The truth is you don't know who is in need or who is in very big trouble by praying in tongues you are interceding for them and helping them.
