Omg what a great Novella!!!

For something so short, it was fantastic!
I read the books in the wrong order - did them;

The Crimson Scar
The Sapphire Crown
A Coven Of Vampires

But whatever 😆 here we are finished!
I actually liked reading this last and going BACK to learn about Dimitris human life and history after knowing him in The Crimson Scar. It tied in perfectly and was a great intro to the series (if read that way)

I just wished it was a TINY bit longer. As I'm bloodthirsty, and would have loved to have seen his "revenge" happen - and not just the end.

I read The Crimson Scar a while ago and I LOVED it, so I was more than thrilled when I was chosen to ARC read Dimitri’s novella.
.
This novella was FANTASTIC. I loved all the background and history about the vampire and how he came to be what he is in TCS. I would be lying if I said the story didn’t make me tear up several times. This one is definitely a tear jerker.
.
I love how it ended, and the whole story makes me want to learn more about Scarlet and Dimitri and how they became so close after this novella. I hope Hannah writes it someday ;)
.
Amazing novella, I can’t wait to have my own physical copy <3

3.5 rounded up.

I was given an ARC for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this novella. The writing style was a bit awkward to read, but I enjoyed the plot so much that I’m going to read The Crimson Scar so I can read more about Dimitri.

If you’ve read The Crimson Scar, I definitely recommend reading this as it’s a great backstory with some good drama.

*spoilers*

My one caveat is I wish it showed more about how Dimitri got rid of the vampires other than just skipping to when he burned them. I want this part to be elaborated on more.

I was able to ARC read and review this book voluntarily.
This was a quick read and serves as my introduction to The Crimson Scar series. This was just enough to get me intrigued in the story, and I enjoyed Dimitri's origins and life leading into the next book. Since I don't have any previous notions of the series going into this novella, I can say that I am interested in reading more about the House of Ravens and Scarlet and Dimitri's friendship and possible relationship. I was blind going in to COV, so I now have some anticipation for what's to come, unlike others who are reading COV after The Crimson Scar and know what's been going on thus far. This story didn't have spice only a small tamed smidgen introduced at the beginning), but I know it's a slow burn coming up. I'm looking forward to the buildup. I'm intrigued about the Dameer and hybrids (seems a fitting term for them). Overall, as my first book by Hannah, I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the series.

This packed sooo much in such a small package.
I really loved the descriptive writing and the simple story as an introduction to this world.

Dimitri is in love with a vampire, but being a human means it comes with the struggle of Victoria wanting him to be changed.
Victoria is blind to his wishes even when he repeatedly tells her 'that is not called love. It’s called selfishness.’

I really enjoyed Dimitri’s origin story. It was good insight into his motivations for helping Scarlett in The Crimson Scar. I felt his pain and heartbreak with what happens to him at the hands of Lord Atticus, but am so proud of him for how he handled things after. Another great, enjoyable read by Hannah Penfold!

I absolutely loved getting to read Dimitri’s back story! I would suggest reading The Crimson Scar before hand but I think you can read either order!

Vampires, terror, a little spice, and revenge. 😈

I love when side characters you already love get their own story told! Dimitri is a determined young man that wants to work in the most prestigious library in the world. Gets accepted, only to have all of his hopes bleed from his body as fast as his mortality.

I wanted to scream reading this in the best ways! If you love getting the backstory for how characters came to be you will love this!

*ARC review*
I've loved Dimitri since his first appearance in The Crimson Scar, and this novella was a perfect way to find out more about his story and past!! My only issue is I want more!!! But the story told was interesting, heartbreaking, and had me finish the book in one sitting!! Perfect for fans of The Crimson Scar or as a way to ease into the world!!
Can't wait for more Dimitri and Scarlet in the future!

I was so grateful to be chosen to be an ARC reader for Hannahs new novella Coven of Vampires.

From the very start, this novella had me hooked. I loved being able to learn about Dimitri, his history and how he became the Vampire that he is. It even pulled on a few heart strings!

The length made for it to be a quick, enjoyable read and I can not wait to read more of Hannahs work!
