During the high of the magical indie author era that swept the nation in 2012, Rachael Wade wrote over a dozen romance and fantasy novels about broken characters with tattered hearts. She has since then retired this pen name, so you won't find her on the socials anymore, but she still welcomes rights inquiries and messages from readers via Goodreads. Today she writes horror and suspense under a different name, though romance subplots still make cameo appearances in all of her stories.

SUMMARY (50 words or less)

It’s a sad day when a series you really likes comes to an end. And that’s what we have here. This book moves into the final battle were everything will be decided. I won’t spoil things, but I find it good and interesting that authors aren’t going with predictable endings.

For the most part I was happy with how this trilogy ended. There was a nice amount of action and that was good. Since sometimes authors like to drag out the last book in a series. The decision that Camille had to make was terrible and parts of it made me really mad. Otherwise I was satisfied with this conclusion.

The Tragedy of Knowledge is the EPIC ending to the greatest series I have ever read. It is so full of action and suspense that it had me on the edge of my seat. Gavin and Cam are trying to restore peace and order to the Amaranthians. Gavin is leading the team in Amaranth and he has his hands full. They lost the first round but they are determined to win this round. As Gavin starts to set up for the final war he and Cam will have the fight of a lifetime. With the hybrid vampires on the loose no one knows exactly how to defeat them the only thing they do know is that they must be defeated.

With Cam getting these strange dreams she is not sure what they mean but she knows she better figure them out soon in order to save Amaranth from the evil that plagues it. Will they be able to take Gerard down? What will happen to Cam and Gavin? Will they have their happily ever after or will they be torn apart and lose each other? this is an Epic ending to the the trilogy and if you have not read Amaranth or The Gates you have to read both those books first to get the ending. The author did a great job taking us each step of the way and finding out all the secrets and lies of Amaranth and the others that lived there.

I am so sad to see this series end but I loved it! I loved growing with Gavin and Cam and I loved experiencing everything they did and reading how they grew together. This is a must read series for all paranormal lovers!

The Tragedy of Knowledge was intense and action packed. I have loved The Resistance Trilogy from the beginning and have followed it all the way through. The journey you are taken on with Gavin and Camille is enthralling. I have loved it every step of the way. The passion the two main characters share can only be described as intense. I am so sad to see this series come to an end as I could read and journey with these two forever. Rachael Wade is an amazing author that I will always want more from.

In The Tragedy of Knowledge, Gavin is leading the resistance team to Amaranth. Only this time they are up again the King of Amaranth, Gerard, and Arianna's father. Only no one knows how to end the reign of this Hybrid vampire.

Camille keeps getting these visions but doesn't know what they are telling her, she only knows that it has something to do with the end of Amaranth but fears it may be too late by time she is able to decipher these visions. With the help of the Book of Ancients she head in the only direction she can, following her heart and love into Amaranth. What they find there is beyond their imaginations but they know they have to try for the sake of the Amaranthians and those they hold dear, to take Gerard down.

When I first read Amaranth in October 2011, I was so excited to read something so original. Rachael's trilogy is not just about your traditional vampires. Rachael's are magical and spiritual, having deep backgrounds. So when I read The Tragedy of Knowledge I was sad, because I knew it was ending. This book showed us Gavin and Camille's true relationship. I was so happy to see them finally together in The Gates, and they certainly didn't disappoint this round. The whole time I was reading I kept saying "where's Scarlet, I know she's gonna pop out sometime that crazy b&*!@." Yup, she showed up but I won't spoil it for you. Obviously there is a final battle coming with Gerard, Samira and some unexpected characters as well. I really didn't see the ending coming. Rachael has a way with leading you up to a certain point with just enough information where her story could go either way. I like that about her, she keeps me guessing. So here is the end of The Resistance Trilogy but I know that Rachael won't leave us for long, she has some more great stories coming. Enjoy :)

I have been a big fan of The Resistance Trilogy by Rachael Wade since Amaranth and I thoroughly enjoy her books.

The Tragedy of Knowledge is the final of this Trilogy and it did not disappoint in any way. Camille and Gavin were as dreamy as ever and kickass awesome. This book is cram packed full of excitement, romance, tragedy and all around awesomeness, I am truly going to miss the characters especially Aud and Gabe. I loved seeing certain vamps get their due justice and I loved the scenes in my head lol. Every character in this book and the first two became part of us as we read them and sort became family as well. Rachael has done herself proud in the way she ended this series and I truly am a huge fan. Can't wait for her next series to come out. Thanks Rachael for such awesome characters and a wonderful exciting story.

Oh just so everyone knows I don't do spoilers so you will have to read them for yourself. Toodles.

Oh my goodness, this book is too epic to put into words, but I will give it my very best shot! I think I loved every single thing about this and to be honest I'm a little bit gutted that it has come to an end! I'm secretly hoping that the Wonderful Rachael Wade will consider writing a book about the very intriguing Clea, as she has stunned me with how much I'm drawn to knowing her story, so fingers crossed *hint Rach*! This stunning final instalment is wonderfully written, perfectly paced, action packed and filled with emotion, sacrifice and intrigue! I really couldn't of asked for more for a final instalment in a favourite series but I will definitely miss the whole world and the fabulous characters that I have come to love!

The Resistance have to quickly put a new plan together after their last failed mission in Amaranth! But this new mission could prove to be their most reckless yet! When they return to the alluring Amaranth they find themselves racing against time to make their plan come together, but Camille will play a bigger part in the outcome than first thought! Will the frozen souls ever get their curses lifted? Will Camille and Gavin ever get their happily ever after?

Well, the ending is the most unexpectedly awesome ending EVER!! I loved everything and was on the edge of my seat routing for Camille all the way! I was more than pleased with how Rachael has ended her wonderful trilogy and if anyone hasn't yet had the pleasure of reading them, then I beg you to go do so now! All that's left for me to do is thank Rachael for bringing this brilliantly memorable trilogy to the table, I really can't put into words how much I loved it!

My favourite characters:

Samira: I have been intrigued by this wicked goddess from the off! She is a real stand out from the crowd character that I won't soon forget in a hurry!

Clea: I adored the introduction of the very interesting Clara, and to be honest I really NEED more info about her as she has really grabbed my attention!

A big 5 Stars

Summary:

Tragedy of Knowledge is the last book in The Resistance Trilogy. Gavin, Camille and the rest of the Resistance must discover the secret to defeating Gerard, the father of all vampires, before he defeats them. The Resistance has one thing in their favor – they’ve formed an alliance with Gerard’s queen and ruler of Amaranth, Samira. She wants revenge probably more than the Resistance, but she’s frightened of Gerard and his powers as well. Will they discover the secret before it’s too late? Can Gavin and Camille trust their alliance with Samira?

My Review:

I have to say, Tragedy of Knowledge was definitely my favorite out of the Resistance Trilogy. It’s probably my second favorite Rachael Wade book altogether (my favorite so far has yet to be released). There was so much I loved – Samira was humanized. We really gained a full understanding of who Samira is and why. Camille really comes into her powers, which ends up being crucial to the book’s outcome, and she shows a lot of growth throughout the entire series. Gavin screws up royally in this final book, but love prevails (a theme in Rachael’s books that I love).

As always, Ms. Wade’s writing kept me up way too late. I kept wishing for toothpicks to keep my eyes open! I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. And my emotional investment in the characters was notably stronger with this final installment of the Resistance Trilogy. I still missed Joel, and so did the characters in the book. Rachael took us back to Joel and showed how the loss of a special person can often lead to healing in the relationships of those that loved them most.

I think I loved the ending most of all. It was inspiring, it came together in a way that was sad and beautiful all at the same time. It reminded me that while things may not work out the way you planned, the way they do work out is often so much more beautiful than anything you could have imagined.

Book 3 sees the resistance formulating a battle plan to destroy Gerard. Gavin was blackmailed into changing Camille into a vampire in order to get Samira on side but it is unclear whether she will fight with the resistance or side with Gerard. We’ve discovered that Scarlet is the prophesised ‘snake’ and as her whereabouts are unknown, so are her reasons for betraying the resistance or what she expects to achieve from her betrayal. Camille is trying to adapt to her new powers as a vampire whilst grieving over Vivienne’s death and trying to decipher the ambiguous message that she left them. She is plagued by the same reoccurring dream involving Erica’s bedroom and has yet to ascertain what reading ability she has gained as a vampire. There are still twists aplenty and we still get to enjoy the feisty attitude of Audrey.

Gavin and Camille discover that Gerard is aware of their plan to destroy him and he pays an unexpected and frightening visit to Gavin’s mansion. He demands that they return to Amaranth on the next crescent moon where they will go into exile. But it’s more risky this time around as they will not have the benefit of Vivienne’s protection spell so Arianna becomes their trump card. They also rely heavily on the guidance given in the Book of the Ancients. Their return doesn’t go according to plan and initially, when Gerard meets them at the portal with his own band of fighters. When they eventually get through the portal and into the castle, Akim and Dali have a role to play and Samira still needs to be persuaded to back Team Gavin. Scarlet resurfaces and is less than happy when she realises that she has been betrayed… the question however, is by whom and how can she mete out her revenge?

The final showdown takes place in Samira’s throne room and the ending was not what I was hoping for even though it was a happy ending of sorts. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the series and will be looking out for the author’s other work in the future.

Once again, Rachael Wade has written a brilliant novel. The Tragedy of Knowledge was a great conclusion to the Amaranth series. The book picks up where The Gates left off. The main characters, Camille and Gavin, along with the rest of the gang need to try to find a way to destroy Samira and Gerard and the vampire curse. This is my favorite book in the series. The plot was very intricate. It made me laugh at times, and was heartbreaking at others. I was upset when a certain character died. The character was a minor character, but their death still left a big impact on me because o the emotional way it was written. I only found one mistake in the book. The characters were all the same characters we know and love with the addition of Gerard. I don't really care for Gerard. The reader can tell he was well written because he creeped me out and left me with chills long after I finished the book. The ending of the book was heartbreaking. However, it was a wonderful ending that tied everything up at the end. Anything else wouldn't have worked as well. The Amaranth series will always hold a place in my heart, long after the series is finished. It will definitely be something I re-read many times. Thank you Rachael Wade for creating a magical world for me to get lost in time and time again.

This book was an epic conclusion to a fantastic Paranormal Romance. Filled with even more action and adventure, as the final battle to defeat evil loomed. I was excited to see Camille kick butt. I wasn't sure if she could become more awesome than she already was, but she did; even as she adjusted to her new lifestyle.

She became a more valuable player as the story unraveled. There was a lot of mystery behind the freedom Gavin and the Resistance sought, and Camille was very much a part of the key to getting rid of Gerard. As the pieces fell into place, my heart broke when the final step to ridding themselves of Gerard came to light. It was a bitter sweet moment. Of course, there was no way Gavin would allow Camille to make the sacrifice alone, he was just amazing like that. I'm not sure if I'd have had the strength to watch my friends walk away. I'm sure it couldn't have been easy for either of them, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to save those you care deeply about. And in doing so, both Gavin and Camille claimed back their humanity.

They may not have found the future they were looking for but they had each other, and they had more to live for than they'd ever thought possible.

This trilogy was an exciting mix of love, tragedy, mystery and intrigue. Paranormal Romance fans will enjoy it from start to finish.

The Tragedy of Knowledge is the third book in Rachael Wade’s Resistance trilogy. This book picks up right where The Gates left off. Cam is now a frozen soul. They have lost some friends in the resistance and they must keep going to find a way to free the frozen souls and Amaranthians. Cam, Gavin, Audrey, Gabe, Josh and others must find the way to defeat Gerard. Against what seems to be insurmountable odds and new betrayals will the resistance win out?

I loved this book just like the other two. The characters continue to evolve and develop. The love between Cam and Gavin continues to put the pages to flame. Rachael Wade does an incredible job taking us from Louisiana and back to Amaranth. The different take on vampires or frozen souls is unique and really makes this trilogy an intriguing read. It is unique and truly entertaining. Between the characters, the scenery and the emotions that not just The Tragedy of Knowledge and the rest of the trilogy. The Tragedy of Knowledge will have you crying, laughing and being really pissed. I would recommend this series and any of Rachael Wade’s other books.

The Tragedy of Knowledge was a pretty good ending to this series. Camille and Gavin are once again gathering vampires and concocting a plan, but this time it's to take out Gerard instead of Samira. They've also got the help of the witches this time, along with the Book of Ancients, which apparently tells them step-by-step what to do. Once back in Amaranth, things progress quickly, although not always according to plan (of course).

I really don't have much to say about The Tragedy of Knowledge. It was only okay overall, but I was satisfied with that ending. I like when authors take a risk and do something different. Although once I saw where the ending was going, I did predict a couple of things. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it would have been interesting if it had ended up going in a different direction. I was annoyed with the amount of drama it took to get to the conclusion. I was starting to expect a Jerry Springer-esque smackdown!

The Tragedy of Knowledge by Rachael Wade
Amaranth Trilogy #3

When the series began, protagonist Camille discovered the existence of an alternate realm, Amaranth, purportedly a “rest” region for vampires, those who no longer wish to continue as vampires. But it didn’t take long for Camille to discover that, as usual, what seems to be “too good to be true” usually isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Amaranth is actually a feeding ground for the vampire ruler Samira. Camille, of course, will stop at nothing to free the frozen souls of Amaranth, if she can…

Author Rachael Wade continues her incredibly skillful and imaginative world-building, balancing in front of the avid reader a realm only she could have created. No suspension of disbelief is required, as the reader finds herself immediately catapulted into the story. “Magical thinking,” indeed-Ms. Wade’s writing is magically deft and vivid.

A battle is looming, Cam and Gavin will need all their strength if they wish to defeat Gerard. Leading the rebellion back to Amaranth, Cam must convince Samira to aid them and with the help of the witches try to break the curse. The Book of the Ancients is the key to his undoing yet they will all have a part to play before it is over. Scarlett is her usual manipulative self and gets more than she bargained for but it is what she so richly deserves. Sometimes when you sacrifice everything to save those you care about, what you gain is more than you could have ever anticipated. Filled with Magic, Witches and Vampires, a love story that survives despite the odds stacked against them and a fitting end to this series. This book has plenty of action and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I will be keeping an eye out for Rachael's new series in 2013.

Everything concludes nicely in this one. Camille gets to show us her kick butt side instead of the victim she was in previous books. While there were some major hurdles overcome in trying to free the Amaranthians there are also some great losses. The ending was a bit bittersweet due to the outcomes for some that were involved in the resistance.

I loved the first two books in this series and Rachael Wade has become one of my favorite authors….but I was a little disappointed in this one. Don’t get me wrong it was good and wrapped everything up nicely; it just felt rushed to me. For some reason, I kept getting the feeling that Ms. Wade was just trying to get this one over with. It was very short and had me wanting more.

A good final chapter

I was excited to finish this final book and it didn't disappoint me. It moved at a steady pace and got right to the point without trying to fill the story with useless subplots and information. There are several times when I wondered how they were ever going to make it. A very good read. I would recommend it to any fans of contemporary vampire fiction.
