My goodness by the Celtics had some really fucking weird ideas of what constitutes illumination and design. That's not to say that it's not beautiful. When I saw the Book of Kells, all I could think of was how lovely it was. Yet, this Treasury of Celtic Design is the strangest compilation ever.

I wish there were some simpler motifs in here as well. Things that would be easier to copy and to get an idea bout Celtic design about.
