This is an extraordinary true story of choices and where they can lead you. Fear and loneliness, painful lessons and hilarious escapades, a rollercoaster ride from spiritual adventures in Peru to all night parties in Ibiza.
Full disclosure: Yes, I watch almost all of the Real Housewives shows on Bravo. I am a people-watcher and that type of reality TV is the best people. watching. EVER. I loved the DC Housewives and Cat was a favorite of mine.
I feel for Cat,as it does sound as though her first husband treated her horribly. Emotional and verbal abuse can be even worse than physical abuse. I know that she went through another divorce after the DC Housewives was finished with their on and only season. She is in a relationship now and pregnant, and I wish her well. I do wonder if he is the younger man she spoke about in this book.
However, this book is just bad. Really bad. The writing is sub-par. The editing was even worse. The Kindle version had a ton of typos and grammar issues.
It's my understanding that there is a sequel to this book coming out and I hope it's edited much better than this book was.
I'm halfway finished and I just can't take it anymore. I love a gossipy read just as much as the next person and I got to the fling with Prince Harry. But this woman is just a disaster. First the writing is hella bad. She thinks it's okay because we are getting to read the "unedited personal journal" of a dreadfully boring person. Next, her whining is constant. She plays at being independent. It's all pretend. And I can't bring myself to feel sorry for her or feel enlightened by her and, most disappointing of all, I can't feel entertained by her.
I really wasn't a fan of this book. I read it as a woman who cheated on her husband and then we were supposed to feel sorry for her. Then she goes on to live all those amazing experiences. I only forced myself to finish it because I wanted to see how things ended for her. Imagine my surprise when the end of the book was a too be continued scenario. I was pretty upset I didn't know this ahead of time.
I enjoyed this book after watching her on TV & most people not really getting her. Yes there are some cringe moments, but was easy to read but have a much better insight into who this lady is.
