My son participated as a K-Kub last year. It was a learning experience for both of us. He was so excited when he bridged to Tiger Cub. We have the summer off from scouts, but he was insistent that we pick up his handbook. I am happy we did because after reading this, I realize a lot of what we will be doing this summer will coincide with requirements he has for various activities as a Tiger Cub.
I am a fan of the detail and the organization of this handbook. Most activities are clearly explained as to what the requirements are, and more important, what the gist of the activity is so the adult partners have flexibility as to how to tailor the activity the boy completes. I really like that.
This handbook is visually appealing, easy to follow, and a bog help to one who is admittedly a bit removed from the scouting experience. :)
We finished!! My favorite requirement was the interview of an older person to talk about what life was like growing up. There are many great activities here for a 1st grader and I'm impressed at the variety in the Cub Scout program and the options offered.
