Finally got my hands on a library copy of Grayfox, it was very good. It has been a while since I read the Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister so I had to get use the writing style of the story all over again. There was not as much story as I had hope there would be, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Wow. I loved this book as a teen but as an adult, it makes me choke up and reflect so much. This is really one adventure packed book but also a beautiful story of one man's I influence on a younger youth. May we all have the wisdom and patience of Hawk.

I really liked this story, and loved the settings, but I found myself very annoyed at him CONSTANTLY asking him questions and teaching him life lessons, every single page. I mean i know thats what its all about but it was really annoying after awhile.

You can read this as a stand alone book, but you will get so much more out of it reading it along with the Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister. Read this right after book #5 in the series, not after book #7 as the publisher suggests. It follows the sequence of the storytelling better this way.

Good as a stand alone but enhanced by reading the Corrie Hollister Journals

A wonderful story of how a young man grew to be a man. The story was interesting, meaningful and relatable to us all, teen or older adult, man or woman...we're all growing. It was hard to put down.

Book was enjoyable as a read, but contained many false teachings so I will not be recommending it to people.

As with the rest of the Corrie Belle Hollister series, I read Grayfox some years ago, but I just received the hardback which was a library book that was discarded because it apparently never got checked out. The story is a lot like mine in that he left home to seek his way in the world and found a better relationship with God and his father in the bargain. Of course, falling for a Paiute princess probably didn't win him any awards before he left Indian country to go home. I reckon this whole series was slanted toward young to adult Christian readers and I hope that it led them deeper in their walk with God.

This is a companion reader to The Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister and as its story occurs between Books 5 and 6 I chose to read it between those two. It focuses on Corrie's brother, Zach, and his adventures with the Pony Express after leaving home following a huge blow up with his father, Drummond Hollister. Zach is subsequently injured and rescued by a mountain man who nurses him back to health and in the process teaches him about life and specifically, manhood, although the lessons are equally applicable to women. This is a book rich in wisdom and I highly recommend it. It contains a lot of interesting information about the Pony Express and Paiute Indians.

I loved this coming of age story about Zack Hollister, brother of Corrie. It is similar to the Prodigal Son, especially the ending. Although Zack joined the Pony Express; he didn't leave home for "riotous living." While out on a Pony Express run he ran into Paiute Indians and ended up at the bottom of a ravine. He was rescued by a John the Baptist type of man, who lived in the desert, and taught Zack how to live there too, while becoming a man. It is just a precious story. Highly recommended, for men, boys, women and girls.

This book takes Zack through the powerful journey of becoming a man. Zack is tired of being at home and supposedly “always around babies and girls”. He explodes at his pa one day and tells him that he is going to work for the pony express one day as he is riding for the express he gets surrounded by Paiutes and tries to escape he falls down and is found by a man

Yes! I loved this story showing Zack’s POV and his story. I want to know what happens to him and Laughing Waters! It doesn’t go into specifics of course, but they mention her more in the Corrie and Christopher Braxton duology. It’s implied that they get married. But there’s really not much romance. 😜

The most beautiful analogy of coming of age

This story is for any age. It is a book you will think about for a long time. It helps you to see with a whole different set of eyes. Don't miss a real education.

The Book "Grayfox" by Michael Phillips is a great spin-off of the " Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister series ". I enjoyed how you really can learn along with zack about life no matter what your age if you just pay close attention. The character growth was phenomenal and I also enjoyed how much zack has grown since when he is briefly mentioned in other books of the series. Definitely would love to hear more about zack in other books if the author ever wanted to pick this series up again. I highly would recommend this read! ( this book pulled me out of a reading slump * not reading for a couple of months* so that should speak for itself.) Overall 4/5 stars.
