I remember buying this book at a point in my life where I felt stuck in my career path. I felt that I was in the wrong career field as it didn't allow me to be creative and be out meeting new people. I heard about the book over an interview with the authors on a talk radio show. This while fantasising about an alien invasion happening so that the world would stand still in order for me to have an excuse to have a day off my life draining job.
I had left this book on the shelf and never read it until now. I should have read it rather sooner, better yet, back then when I was facing serious depression, seeing my future being chained in a sector I had no passion about, feeling stuck, like I had no other option. Having read this book, it proved to me that my gut instinct was right. After taking the personality test and having done the exercises in the book, I finally got to know who I truly am and what career path is most suited for me. The tests were so accurate that I felt rather shocked. The exercises in the book also helped me realise that a career change is possible and which steps I should take to make it happen. It requires a lot of work though and a lot of introspection, but the long term results and the yearning for fulfilment in a job is a worthwhile reward for the initial effort.
After having applied the exercises and test, I can happily say that I am now changing careers and designing the work life that gives me the most fulfilment and that fits in with my personality, lifestyle and aspirations. This book should be prescribed reading for anyone who isn't sure about their career choice, or those stuck in a career who feel like they don't have a way out.
