This book pissed me off over the way people are treated especially women and minorities. This book looked at how women are forced into poverty and the problems they face that are related to how policy and the war on poverty has affected them and their family. All of the authors brought something to the table. I don't feel like I learned anything really new but it brought it all together and showed how women are punished for being poor for being in abusive relationships and are punished for trying to make a better life for themselves. Even though it was written in 1996 it is still relevant for today.
