Some of the most beautiful illustrations. Only draw back was that it was in NIV and I prefer KJV. But that was fine since I had the verses memorized and just supplemented the KJV text and let my son look at the gorgeous pictures.
"Psalm 23" includes the words of one of the most beautiful and well-known psalms, but also includes absolutely gorgeous illustrations that go perfectly with the poem's words. I believe that children can truly benefit from this book. It can help them to understand one of the most famous Bible passages, as they are looking at paintings that almost look like photographs. I believe that this could be a perfect book to use in children's Bible classes in particular.
Beautiful book. Text is just the psalm. Illustrations are gorgeous and do a nice job of explaining the text. The setting is slightly different from the biblical but the theme of sheep/shepherd remains - it makes it feel fresh and more modern while remaining authentic. I like that the shepherd is a boy about the age shepherd were in biblical times.
An illustrated Psalm 23 that is set in Antigua, West Indies. Two lines of text appear per two page spread and through the use of live models the artist manages to produce a faithful representation of each line of this well-known text.
I really enjoyed reading both of the author's notes; they added to my reading experience and helped me to fully appreciate the decisions made regarding the artwork that appears in this book.
