This follow up memoir to Little Comrades is a wonderful read. The New York scene in the 50's and 60's is a treat to read about and her life reads like a novel. She is an inspiration and an incredible woman and I, as a reader, will never forget her story. Her struggles, her love for her second husband, her love for her daughter and her determination to make it as a single mom in the 60's, shows her incredible will to survive and to make something of her life. This was a page turner and an incredible story. I am so blessed to have seen this woman speak at Kingston Writersfest because she inspires you to know that anything is possible and that bad times do end and can turn into the most wonderful of days!
