This is easily Stephen Venables' worst book. It's full of typos (like Drobislawa Wolf), incorrect information (a raven is a big crow) and it sounds like it was written for children ("According to scientists, the Earth's crust is made up of shifting 'techtonic plates'.). What a disappointment. Because it's designed as an A-Z there is loads of repetition as maybe they think you'll pick a letter at random to read about? We had to hear about his broken legs on Panch Chuli V about three separate times! He's an intelligent, literate, and interesting guy so I really don't know what happened to bring about this shonky book.
