She searched for freedom and found a Kalquorian clan.
Irene Jonson is a rising star in opera, thanks to Earth forcing her to leave her parents as a teen to join a prestigious opera company. Years later, she loves music, but she wants the freedom to forge her own path as a performer and be reunited with her family.
Sherv, Rusp, and Jemi are a clan and band playing hard, driving music. Success means more than fame and fortune; it would show their disapproving families they’ve chosen the lives they were meant to live. Encountering Irene, creating a new and exciting sound, gives them that opportunity…and a chance at love.
Two worlds on the brink of war threaten everything Irene and Clan Sherv have built and everything they dream of. Two worlds are bent on snatching Irene from the men and music she loves. What chance do four misfit musicians possibly have against Earth and the Kalquorian Empire?
Born in a small town on the coast of North Carolina to strict parents, Tracy St. John started out as a quiet, shy child. She was typical for her small town: studying hard for good grades, fishing with her dad on Saturdays and attending church on Sundays.
When adolescence kicked in, so did full-on rebellion. School, family and church fell by the wayside as Tracy partied too hard with the wrong people. Somehow surviving her wild-child phase, she pursued several careers before finally settling on video production and writing.
A string of failed relationships prompted her to give up on love…which of course meant fate immediately tossed Mr. Right her way. After only 4 months of dating, she eloped with the love of her life. They just celebrated 14 years of wedded bliss.
Prior to penning her first erotic novel ‘Alien Embrace’, Tracy wrote commercials, television and radio promos, and training films for various government entities.
Tracy St. John now lives in coastal Georgia with her husband and son. She still enjoys fishing, and you’ll often find her haunting train museums with her locomotive-loving son. Besides writing, she also works in video production both in front of and behind the camera. She’s usually cast as the gun-toting bad gal, getting handcuffed in the end. She has no complaints.
I'm so glad I liked this book! While I love this series and its spin-offs, the last few books haven't been what I wanted. That changed with this great offering to the series. With a believable h and H underdogs worth cheering for, this book delivers an excellent plot and music adventure. The book rarely bogs down with music details, and the side characters are good without being distracting. The last few books I've been more curious about the side characters, but in this one, none overwhelmed my attention. The s/m smut was well written, though the author still falls into the trap of waxing flowery metaphors better served in a fade to black book than one willing to proudly stand in the erotica category. St. John is one of the few authors who is good enough at smut writing to actually have the reader looking for batteries, so I hope she sticks with what she's amazing at and leaves the flowery language to less worthy authors.
I admit to one sad moment in this book--I don't have an obvious side character whose story I want to read next. Usually we're left with a character teaser for the next book but none seem a good candidate in this one. This has me a little worried because I haven't really liked the "reset" main characters that have shown up in her previous books. But of course I'll be there, desperately waiting for one of my favorite authors to gift us her next work of art.
The storyline was interesting. Also, the characters were extremely likable and sexy. My favorite virgin trope covered- plus a pregnancy to top it off. In addition, the book contained contain the perfect amount of action. I highly recommend this book ❤️
A fun installment of the Kalquor universe. Woman falls in love with her 3 Aliens who are a family unit and a rock band. She thinks she needs to give them up but well it's a romance and the HEA is guaranteed.
