Short book that was based on a screenplay. There is a movie with Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow that I hope to watch.

David Shelby is a wealthy man who has pulled a few strings, and may or may not have paid off a senator, in order to get approval to build a village complete with a hotel, shops, condos, and skiing and ice skating facilities high in the mountains of Colorado. The problem is, is it safe?

Some male chauvinism and objectification of women as was done in a lot of stuff from the 70s. It’s so weird that this author also wrote The Waltons. But, for this, he probably had to stick to the screenplay.

The exposition and lead up to the climax was soooo goood and thoughtful. I felt like I knew 10+ characters so well, but the main three characters could have been more developed. And the ending could have been so much better, but everyone just died and/or there was no barely any progression of relationships. Still a fun and fast-paced read.
