Coming home for the holidays, all Ellie Johnson wanted to do was catch up with her best friends and family. For fun, the girls signed up for the Sweetheart events in the Sweetheart Springs annual Christmas Festival. Little did she know, she'd be paired up with her brother's best friend, and the one man she could never get out of her head.
Tommy Donovan didn't want anything to do with the Christmas Festival. Every year he was able to work and forget it was happening, especially dodging the matchmaking events. This year, his mom had other plans.
Forced together with the stress of a town myth hanging above their heads, will they must work together under the watchful eye of the town, while trying to come to terms with their feelings for one another.
Like the characters' cocoa, this romance is a little too sweet for me, but some people will like it that way.
In a town called Sweetheart Springs, town festivals feature contests organized by "Matchmakers" who pair single people who've signed up so that couples compete as teams. Ellie has always liked her brother's friend Tommy. He's always liked her. Brother Tristan has tried to keep them apart so that they wouldn't hurt each other's feelings, though if convinced that their feelings matched he wouldn't mind having Tommy for a brother-in-law. Ellie and Tommy sign up for the Christmas cocoa cooking contest and prepare lots of Tommy's special super-sweet cocoa.
If you think romance novels are, like bananas, best when very sweet and mushy, you'll love this one.
Cute short read. A sweet romance. Very simplistic and predictable but that is what I was looking for. What else do you expect from a town called Sweetheart Springs and a Christmas Festival that has couples matched by the local Matchmakers.
Short sweet holiday treat. The perfect romance to get you into the Christmas spirit. Friends forever, Tommy and Ellie are set up by the matchmakers. Let the holiday magic begin.
Such a cute little Christmassy romance read. Sometimes all you need is a short, quick read that will leave you feeling all warm inside and that’s exactly what this novella is.
