Snarky in the suburbs #4

Killer Dance Mom

Wynn Butler is a newbie dance mom and honestly, she hasn’t exactly been receiving rave reviews for her skills. Blinging out costumes and being your child’s glam squad aren't exactly her strong suits. But at her daughter’s first national competition Wynn is ready to prove herself.

What she hadn’t planned for is being forced to share a hotel room with her least favorite person in the whole world – Jacardia Monroe, a mom who’s had two tours of duty at a spray tan detox clinic.

While Wynn attempts to survive the roommate from hell and cheer on her daughter, she stumbles onto a murder. Stuffed in a dance bag backstage is Kingston Reeves, a renowned competition judge. Sitting right next to that dance bag is Jacardia.

When both women became “persons of interest” in the case, Wynn decides it’s time to do some serious snooping to see who at the competition had a motive to kill the dance judge. Rallying her best friends to help her, she discovers a wide swath of suspects from the Instagram/influencer mom who brings a professional camera crew to follow her at competitions, to a crazed former ballerina turned combative dance mom and then there’s the glitter gang . . . a cadre of mothers who are addicted to rhinestoning costumes and perhaps even murder.

As Wynn gets closer to finding out who the killer is she might be one step-ball-change away from death.

So Much Fun!

Sherry Kuehl does not disappoint in this installment of her Snarky in the Suburbs series! Dance competitions, moms who are more competitive than their dance kids and toss in some blackmail!? Mayhem ensues! I was never a dance mom, but this book makes me wish I was. If real life was as exciting as this book!

Laugh Out Loud Funny!

As a retired dance mom whose daughter occasionally did the competition circuit, including competing on Dance Moms, I found this book to be a laugh-out-loud funny take-down of the crazy culture of competitive dance. The book moved along briskly and stayed entertaining until the page-turning finale. Great job, Sherry!

I do not give out 5 star ratings lightly…

I rarely give out 5 star ratings. Ask my book club! But I’ve got to admit, I’m a little biased because I am a former competition dance mom. Ms. Kuehl portrayed this lifestyle to perfection. I enjoyed the humor and characters. I didn’t want the competition to end!

Love so much

This book was great and actually had some dance moms down to a tee. The antics that Wynn and company get into are great and this time there are two murders involved. I wish there were more.

I’m so sad

This is my review of the last available snarky book. I truly hope it’s not the last. Each of the four has been enjoyable , but I hope to meet Wynn’s family in Texas again

Hilarious

Non-stop drama and laughter from this all too real interpretation of competition dance and the parents that go with it.

So good!

As a dance mom, a lot of this was fairly accurate and made the story more realistic and pulled me in further. Great writing, good story, lots of suspense.

Utterly ridiculous, campy, & over the top but all in all, a super fun read -- especially for a real-life dance mom! And, the mystery actually kept me guessing, for longer than I would've thought!
