This was an interesting book. I'm not entirely sure what happened- whether the girls were using their imagination or they were fighting over Babbit with each other.

Of course, this is a reread...many times over. Sometimes, I read it to school classes; visiting children...sometimes I just read it to myself. I absolutely adore this book with its' funny, wonderful voice and its' magical, colourful, animated illustrations. Great action, genuine feeling, very funny, full of heart....Babbit always makes me smile.

This book is told from the perspective of a stuffed rabbit owned by two little girls. He calls them the big one and the little one. During this book, the girls take the bunny on a picnic in the woods. However, they don't watch him closely enough and gets snatched by some monsters in the woods. Babbit waits all day until the girls finally come and rescue him. The story ends with him snuggled into bed with the little one hoping she keeps a better eye on him tomorrow.

This book is so cute because of the way the story is told. Babbit has a very funny personality. He makes lots of jokes that I think little kids would find funny. It doesn't have much of a plot, but for younger kids I like it.

I would use this as a read aloud for kindergarten or first grade maybe.

Babbit by Lydia Monks – illustrator of What the Ladybird Heard – A cute little toy is put at risk when her young owner doesn’t monitor her… or is that what it is about? Is it about witches and other nasty forest creatures stealing the bunny to eat? Is it about two girls on an adventure? Is it about acting out a drama for fun? You figure out for yourself. I was left looking, thinking, reflecting, looking and feeling befuddled, in a mostly good way. Cute book.

Babbit is a stuffed bunny. The big one and the little one are supposed to take care of him but they aren't doing such a good job...

And away the story goes! Babbit's adventure is adorable and relatable as he is stolen away, retrieved, then tugged every which way by the children as they play.

My 3.5 year old son quite enjoyed it and we received it as a gift so we'll be reading it again.

The best thing about this book is the slightly twisted cover.
