Shōtarō Ishinomori (石ノ森章太郎) was a Japanese manga artist and cartoonist. Known as the "King of Manga", he is regarded as one of the most influential manga artists of all time.
I still feel that Ishinimori hasn't quite found his voice here. This is famous so I'm going to keep going but I do hope it gets consistently much better. He certainly can create a lovely page layout when he wants to, though.
This series makes me laugh, makes me feel, and makes me think. What more could one want?
The author really took the time to think out each of the story lines, the weapons, the history, everything. When reading this you can truly get a feel for the authors ideals, while still telling semi-unbiased story.
What also impresses meis how each of the characters, while being stereotypes themselves, easily stand out. 009 is a proud and confident leader, even through the tough times when he might not want to be.
I can say surely that I would not have understood all of this when I was a child, but as an adult, I realize how powerful this is.
The author was quite ahead of his time with his thinking and is a masterful story crafter.
If there is one thing I know for absolutely certain, is that I am going to read everything there is on this series and rewatch th anime once I get the chance.
