Bu projenin başına getirilen binbaşı Snyder radyasyon laboratuvarından oluşturduğu bir ekiple Japonya’ya gidip ‘atom bombasının tehlikesini anlatmaya çalışır. Ancak KGB ajanları son dakikaya kadar ekibin gitmesini engellemek için ellerinden geleni yaparlar. Bu arada ABD başkanının uyguladığı yanlış politika Sovyetlerin isini kolaylaştırır. Her şeye rağmen, Japonya’nın Kaahito adasına ulasan Snyder bombanın tehlikesini anlatsa da geç kalmıştır, zira bomba artık atılmıştır.
