I have been a fan of Tim Smith for years, and I eagerly purchased Never Look Back, looking forward to more adventures of Nick Seven. Imagine my surprise when by page four or five, I realized that I had read this before. Never Trust Your Dreams, published back in 2004 is the heart of this book.
This time around, the story is streamlined and abridged rendering it faster paced, less cumbersome, and ultimately, I think, better written. There are much hotter loves scenes in this, which only intensify the reader's interest.
The story, in a nutshell, goes like this: Nick Seven, the retired CIA agent we met in the critically acclaimed Memories Die Last, once again thrills us with further intrigue and action from the Florida Keys. This time, his fiancé's brother leaves a mysterious call just as he's murdered for no apparent reason. As CIA agents surprisingly pop back into Nick's life, the mystery, and the danger deepen. Once again, the war on terror invades the idyllic life that Nick and Felicia are trying to carve out for themselves.
Tim Smith once again shows his talent as a writer, by making an already good book even better. I hope the further adventures of Nick Seven will enthrall us as never before.
