At the stroke of midnight a new year begins—a time for passionate resolutions and brand-new pleasures; a time to let go of past restraints and embrace new sensual boundaries. Four masterful writers offer a quartet of boldly erotic tales guaranteed to heat up those winter nights.
Anna has always been the good girl, until a mysterious and powerful encounter with a wolf brings out her wild side! Now she's unleashing her long-repressed desires on the sexy stranger who comes to her rescue . . . in Cynthia Eden's New Year's Bites.
Seducing her lover at a lavish party seems like the perfect way for Chantal to rekindle their lost passion. But the tables are turned when she finds herself the target of an even more intoxicating man's desire . . . in Diana Mercury's Night Resolutions.
During a weekend getaway at a cozy mountain cabin, two couples decide the long winter nights lend themselves to exciting sensual exploration. But no one expects their red-hot sessions will turn good friends into lovers for life . . . in Virginia Reede's Snow Blind.
Gina is your average female who just happens to become a bit of a . . . dragon when she's turned on! Good thing she's found the kind of savagely sexy man who can bring out the beast in her . . . in Denise Rossetti's Coming on Strong.

I picked this up because it was cheap and I've read stories by Cynthia Eden before. I've liked Eden's other series but her story here was a just sexfest - and very short on story. I am hero-centric and the one here didn't grab me.
But I was totally unprepared for the sensuality level of the stories. I have never read anything published under the 'Red' imprint before and it turns out that since I like my stories steamy but romantic instead of straight out erotic sexy, Red is definitely not for me and after hitting the second story - with orgies, imprisonment with the intent to coerce sex, and MM, MFF, and voyueristic stuff - waaaaaay too much for me and the insult to injury is no romance at all - this hit the DNF pile.
Good read - multiauthor anthology with stories that take place at New Year's. The two middle stories Diana Mercury and Virginia Reede were OK contemporaries. The first, Cynthia Eden's New Year's Bites, was an excellent paranormal [werewolf:] story. The last, Denise Rossetti's Coming on Strong, is a Kaminski Family story and is a loose sequel to her Come Howling from Ellora's Cavemen: Seasons of Seduction I [it can certainly be read alone but I found the other one delightful also.:] The heroine thinks she's weird until her cousin let's her in on the fact their WHOLE family is weird...
Liked 3 out of 4 short stories. Cynthia Eden's and Denise Rossetti's were the better ones. (****). Virginia Reede's was ok. (***) and I did not like Diana Mercury's story (*) at all. Eden's & Rossetti's were shifter stories with Rossetti's being a quite imaginative shifter story. The Mercury story was mostly menage & rape which was nasty. It was on my "will never finish list" due to the Mercury story for several years. Went back and read the last two stories this year.
First, WOW (nervous laughter) I didn't know this was going to be SO naughty. I just really didn't think, going in that this was one of those Erotic books. I decided to give all of these novellas a chance so I am reviewing ALL of the book. As a whole, I give it a 3 star rating. Now let me break it down.
New Year's Bites by Cynthia Eden: This is a paranormal erotic story. Anna is attacked and bitten by a werewolf on New Year's Eve. Jon, a man she has recently been working with and fantasizing about helps her overcome her bite and deal with her transformation. This story in my opinion was just kind of blah.
Night Resolutions by Diana Mercury: I really didn't care for this one. Chantal is invited to a New Year's get away with her boyfriend. The stay at the mansion of his friend's "uncle" turns into an orgy. For me this story was very confusing, the story seemed disjointed and in a lot of ways just plain uncomfortable. The orgy and sex scenes were well described but really it was quite uncomfortable. I really didn't like this story at all.
Snow Blind by Virginia Reede: Story of BFF's, Gerry and "Jules", a New Year's weekend couples getaway goes awry. In no time Gerry and Jules are exploring their relationship in a whole new way. This story was VERY naughty. I saw some of the stuff coming from a mile away but overall this is one of the best in the Anthology.
Coming on Strong by Denise Rossetti: This one was pretty well written and not too far over the erotic line for me. I just thought is seemed a little choppy and I felt like I kept missing things. I felt awful for Gina, I mean she had no idea what was wrong with her and to be so fearful of anyone finding anything out, she must have really felt alone. Then to have such a hot man interested and feeling there was no future, how tragic. I think this story was easiest to feel, but again a little harder to follow. If that makes any sense.
I guess I would say again, overall this anthology was OK.
New Year Bites - 4* Fun & sexy story, although a little tame for me ... Also, the warewolves are a bit overdone lately > all i've been seeing lately in novels (sci-fi, horror, suspense, romance, erotica...) are vampires and warewolves... I think I need a bit of a break :)
Night Resolutions - 1* This one I did not like at all > a bunch of orgies that are not even hot (from the descriptions, nothing seemed sexy). Story is confusing and unrealistic > On a New Year's trip, Chantal gets involved with a bounty hunter who was secretly after her (we never find out exactly why - what is it that she did, why is he sending her to jail?!) but she then gets kidnapped by a psyhopathic sexual deviant who tortures her (but it kind of seems like she is enjoying it!!!) Her bounty hunter saves her - THE END. No explanation as to what the bounty hunter was doing going after her in the first place...stupid and weird... It was like a bunch of jumbled ideas and a few sex scenes all thrown together....
Snow Blind - 5* Loved it > cute and very sexy story. That's all i'm looking for in an erotic romance.
Coming on Strong - 4* Cute paranormal erotica, but woman snake/dragon?! Really?!? Either way, hot overall...
I have picked up for Cynthia Eden's story, but I have read the other stories too. I have to say that: - Cynthia Eden is always good to read, also in short stories; New Year's Bites is well-written and has interesting characters, but the plot is almost usual. PR. 3 stars. - Diana Mercury's one is not for me, I found it not erotic but pornographic, without characters but only figures, without development but only f***ing. 1 star (if it isn't possible 0...). NOT PR. - Snow blind by Virginia Reede is not so bad, not so good. Funny story, but there is too much sex (too much useless details, too much vulgarity...yes, I know that these are erotic stories, but too much is too much!). 2 stars. NOT PR. - Coming on strong by Denise Rossetti has interesting details in the main characters and a good writing...innovation is not so often found in paranormal romance, so...good. My complaint is that there is not the development that maybe could turn this one in a beautiful romance. 3 stars. PR.
Four separate stories. All good except last one. I just couldn't get my head into it. Her little secret was not quite right for me. Having said that, I'm not a huge paranormal romance reader which maybe part of the reason.
