The Emperor Yongzheng, one of the most accomplished emperors in Chinas history, is also one of the most controversial figures. Bold in reforms measures, diligent in governance and reign, he overhauled and eliminated the longstanding evils that had built up from the late years of the Emperor Kangxi. Those sweeping changes reverse the declining rule of Qing dynasty with clear bureaucracy, stable society, abundant national reserve and fewer burdens imposed on commons. Emperor Yongzhengs tremendous contributions to the heyday of Qing rule should not be forgotten.
