This handy, fully illustrated book provides an accessible walking tour of the Metropolitan Museum's world-famous galleries of European paintings, reopening to the public in their entirety in May 2013.
Picked up five new guides at the Met when went to the opening of the John Singer Sargent exhibit on June 30. Haven't really read all in detail cover to cover, but feel as if read enough to count as one book for 2015 Challenge. Will mark Director's Tour as read, put four on my read-2015 shelf, four will mark only as reference rather than as "read." Will update Islamic Art status as appropriate.
This one, European Paintings, groups the walks into seven visits, suggesting ways to break up and group visiting these galleries. Look forward to using it, along with the Art Guide and some other books in my collection. The Art Guide has become too large to carry comfortably when gallery browsing.
