Project and Other Short Pieces

Rate this book
In this volume, Michael Brodsky continues to expand on the themes show in "Detour" and "Wedding Feast and Two Novellas." Brodsky's brilliant command of language and unique vision are evident here as in those earlier books, yet these pieces also show a new direction. The author has written: For the protagonists of the short pieces contained in this volume, connectedness, to events to object, to other people becomes a precarious undertaking, though not without its enlightening sideshow and detours. The only foothold is achieved when events, always traumatic, trigger the making of thoughts as self-defense., Shuttling among their interpretations of events, deep withing the spaces of their doubt, the heroes of these pieces overwhelm at last eh overwhelming. But only for an instant. Until the next onslaught.
