This is a really, really amazing series, even if you only read for a few volumes. It's really gritty while also having a lot of beauty in design, scale, and character. Though it can be hard to tell at first, aside from the opening prologue scene, Zetman is the story of two "superheroes" and how they evolve into themselves. It also takes a hard look at where our morals come from, or how we choose to let them change and in turn shape us.

Borefest. The story has too few good things going for it. The serial killer has potential, but is likely supernatural, so that becomes a negative aspect. The main character is an innocent boy in a tragic setting that is going to destroy his already messed-up childhood. The mystery behind his existence and abilities seem to be the central elements moving the story forward in the beginning. All of these are not enough to keep me from drowsing off when I'm reading this mess.
The streets are plagued by a serial killer who cuts his victims in two in broad daylight. A boy named Jin with extraordinary agility is wanted by an interested party. He lives on the streets, helping the homeless. One of the older homeless men named Gorou is schooling the boy. Jin acquires information at a rapid pace, though he is not a fan of learning. A man possessed by a supernatural creature kills Gorou, leaving Jin alone. Thankfully, a streetwalker he helped takes him in. I don't care what happens next.
Genial.
I can't say a ton happens in this first volume. Set up for superhero sci-fi action to come, I assume. The story of a mysterious young homeless boy, it's a pretty standard story that I'll probably pick back up eventually.

Reviewing an English version which come in at about 250 pages - it is a graphic novel/manga. One of the better series in the sci-fi/biogen genre; storyline and character depth (for the most part), great action, violent and graphic, sex and nudity is where it should be and fan service isn't overly gratuitous (mostly of the low-camera angle variety). Reading the second installment now and hoping the community has supplied the remaining 16 or so....
Very cool. Took a bit to get into it, the first few chapters weren't that interesting and I almost stopped reading it. But once his powers begin to develop the plot moves at a much quicker pace and gets dark very quickly. The art was something that really kept me reading it through the slower parts and some of the creatures that appear are really incredibly drawn. The character development was well done.
