This new edition of the bestselling text, Nurturing Natures , provides an indispensable synthesis of the latest scientific knowledge about children’s emotional development. Integrating a wealth of both up-to-date and classical research from areas such as attachment theory, neuroscience, developmental psychology and cross-cultural studies, it weaves these into an accessible, enjoyable text that always keeps in mind children recognisable to academics, practitioners and parents. Full of fascinating findings, it provides answers to many of the questions people really want to ask about the human journey from conception into adulthood.
Enjoyed the earlier chapters on brain activation and hormones, but the latter chapters felt a bit repetitive as mostly surrounds early upbringing and attachment styles
A true masterpiece! I acquired it in July as a supplementary bibliography for my studies in developmental psychology. It served as a highly useful guidebook. It's a work that can be revisited many times. The book encompasses a wide range of topics, discussions, and ideas related to almost all fields of psychology.
A+, an excellent book. I found it to be a page-turner, when I had the time to read. I didn’t want to put it down. The information presented here may be of great service to those with young children.
An informative and helpful book to assist my CYP studies. There are elements of the narrative which were inspiring to explore the references. And others which channelled into a need to be self reflective. It was tricky to use critical analysis as it was well written and passionate. I’ll have this on my bookshelf for some time to come.
