After a nuclear incident in Pakistan, two agents of the Canadian Intelligence Service disappear during a covert operation in South Korea. They end up in a prison camp in North Korea, where they are being tortured to reveal top secret intelligence.
Justin Hall and Carrie O’Connor, CIS best field operatives, who have just returned from a terrorist-hunting mission in Syria, are ordered to infiltrate the most hostile nation in the world. Their objective is like nothing they have faced before: assassinate the two captured agents, one of whom is a good friend of Justin.
Justin and Carrie consider their allegiances and the consequences of their operation, as they join forces with a North Korean defector and two MI6 agents familiar with the treacherous terrain of the Communist country. Then they come upon new intelligence that complicates their almost impossible mission. It is now a race against time to reach the captured agents before it is too late.

Two Canadian agents have been captured in North Korea performing an unsanctioned op. They appear to have been broken and are giving secrets to the Koreans. What should the CIS do? Well, first they turn to Justin Hall, the Corrector, and his partner Carrie O’Connor. With a threat to their countries national security their boss decides the captured agents must be eliminated. This has to be the hardest mission Justin has had. He’s being sent to take out his own comrades, brothers in the service, because there appears little other choice. Ethan Jones takes Justin, Carrie and some allies through some of the most unwelcoming countries they could visit with his usual talent and skill. The story is crammed full of tension and epic action scenes but there’s a lot more to it than that. The characters must thread their way through some of the most politically volatile nations on Earth to perform their unpleasant task and try to solve the mystery of what has led them there. This is one of my favourite author’s writing at his best and this book is one of my personal favourites.
A great novel! I recently finished it and I love the way it basically shows a small scale war between Canada, North Korea and China! I was scared that Ethan would portray China as an ally but I'm glad he didn't. Because in reality, China is not our friend. Just one thing, North Korea's intelligence agency isn't the MSS, the MSS (Ministry of State Security) belongs to China. North Korea's intelligence agency is the RGB (Reconnaissance General Bureau). Other than that, the book is awesome!
“The truck bounced over a bump in the road, and they were airborne for a few moments. Gravity did its job, and the truck dropped back onto the road. Its front wheels slid a couple of feet and Carrie fought to regain control.” Once again Ethan leads us on an action packed adventure with his here Justin Hall. As we follow the adventure we are bumped and dropped reminiscent of the poor truck and on more than one occasion it feels that we are sliding in to various situations that there is no chance of escape from.
Although this is the 5th book in the series there is no need to have read the previous books to follow this one. It works excellently as a stand-alone piece as well as part of an on-going series (think of the way the James Bond books work). The greatest compliment I can pay this book is to liken it to the “Bourne” series. Obviously it is different but I feel if you like that style of story you will love this book, if you want a really good read go get this book today. I need to mention I was given this book for free but that has no way influenced my views, I just love this author and his work. (PS I have given free books zero and one stars in the past and reserve the right to do so again!)Ethan Jones
Justin Hall is back and this just may be his most difficult mission yet...
Two CIS agents have either been captured or turned rogue and North Korea is reaping the benefits of this intel and all of CISs assets in Asia are at risk.
Carrie and Justin are unknowns in the region and are tasked with stopping the flow of intel and it won't be pretty. But Justin will carry out his orders even if he doesn't agree with them.
With time running out Carrie and Justin have to devise a plan to not only get into North Korea, but to find assets to assist them in might very well be a suicide mission. But what no one realizes is that another party is involved
This is Justin Hall and nothing is ever easy and the impossible becomes possible. But can Justin bring everyone home or will this be the mission that ends it all? Be prepared for yet another suspense-filled mission as Justin tries to get to the truth.
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Rouge Agents is another fantastic read by Ethan Jones that is an action packed, suspenseful adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat with the twists throughout the whole book.
Loved the storyline, the impossible mission Justin Hall, Carrie O'Conner along with MI6 operatives Rex and Eve are given to get into North Korea, into their prison, accomplish their mission and exit via China that's without This mission being changed at the last minute and maintaining anonymity. Couldn't put it down.
A must read and looking forward to the next Justin Hall book

Special Agents (Justin Hall #5) is another fast-paced thriller perhaps the author’s best work to date with this character. With each book he writes, Ethan Jones continues to polish his craft. Another very good read I look forward Jones' next book.
Ethan Jones is a thrill a minute writer. Love the mix of English and Canadian Agencies working together. I have read 5 of his books and they all are stories that keep you up reading well past bed time. Truly a fine writer.
Great characters, an action-filled adrenaline ride.
Another ripper of a read from Ethan Jones. Also one you probably shouldn't begin if you're planning to actually get any sleep. Could not put it down.

Two Canadian clandestine agents are captured by the North Koreans. Betrayed by a honey trap. Justin Carrie and two British agents are sent to Korea initially to eliminate them as traitors. False information is discovered, perpetrated by Justin's own home office in Canada. It is now a rescue mission. This is a tremendous action filled story. A fantastic read!!!
I love the detail in the story and the human element that is worked into the storyline without being overwhelming. The twists and turns are very realistic in this day and age and not always foreseen. If you like Tom Clancy you will like Ethan Jones.
This exciting and spellbinding thriller kept me anxiously reading and rooting for Team CIS's success. Justin and Carrie are highly trained agents for the Canadian Intelligence Service (CIS) and their job is to find two CIS agents who have gone missing in North Korea (NK) and eliminate them since it appears they are disclosing the identities of CIS agents in and around NK. Since NK is not a friendly nor diplomatic partner country with Canada this operation is going to be extremely sensitive and difficult. The lead up to the initial agents' disappearance is soon found to be wrong and they are not the source of intelligence leaks.
In order to make infiltration into NK, Justin and Carrie use entry from Russia and will exfiltrate via China, something heretofore not done. This is a plan fraught with weak intel, unfriendly (and downright hostile) support and very little in in-country friendlies to achieve their goals and secure their mission.
When a covert operation in North Korea goes badly wrong, two CIS agents are captured and under extreme duress start revealing information that could cost others, like experienced spies Carrie O'Connor and Justin Hall, their lives Soon Justin and Carrie are sent to North Korea, to liaise with Rex and Eve - and follow deadly orders regarding the presumed eponymous Agents, that change as the body-count rises. How do Justin and Carrie feel about McClain's new orders? The excitement never slows for a moment - nor does the danger.
Get your copy of Ethan Jones' sensational 5th Justin Hall novel, Rogue Agents soon and get ready for thrills & chills, as the plot thickens!
CIS agents Justin and Carrie are sent on a mission no agent ever wants to be sent on. To find and take out two of their own who have been captured and are now traitors. With the help of two British agents they set out into a hostile enemy country to carry out the dreaded mission. Needless to say things do not go well for any of them. Just before the team finds the captured agents Justin receives new orders; rescue do not kill the agents. The information received about the agents being traitors was faked by an enemy agent for their own agenda. Once this rescue mission is completed the next agenda is to find this enemy agent and retrieve all information; that is if they survive the current mission alive.
Once again I got to travel to another part of the world and was able to see it with the words. I wasn't always a big fan of the assassin world, was more into mysteries and police procedures or true crime. Ethan has changed and broadened my views. Justin and Carrie work so well together that it's a shame they aren't a couple. Maybe this will change as I continue the series? I'll find out!
Another great novel by Justin Hall. I especially like his books because they are not filled or peppered with foul language and graphic sex. He shows that you can have a great story without those degrading aspects. Keep it up, Mr. Hall!
