Prince Myers came from Nawlins to ATL to take over the game. His rise was fast and he enjoyed all the luxuries of his hustle, including the fly chick on his arm. But his reign is short lived. Now he is in prison on a bogus murder conviction and everything he had is gone, including his woman. Beautiful and ambitious Lieutenant Nicole Wright is the fantasy of every convict at Georgia State Prison where she works. The furthest thought from her mind is falling in love with a convict. She is married to a successful doctor, and though their marriage is absent of passion, Nicole is content until she meets Prince. A hot, fascinating, but dangerous relationship kicks off threatening to explode at every turn. Will Nicole be able to ride for Prince like he needs her to? Will his bitterness engulf her into its flames? Will loving a thug cost Nicole to lose everything, including her life? The answers lie within as she and Prince embark on a journey that is truly A Dirty South Love.
OH EM GHEE.... This book was soo good. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was superb. I am just kicking myself for waiting so long. I am a Ca$h fan already, but now I am excited about reading more from Jennifer Luckett.
No spoilers... Just know that this book follows to Cash's true fashion. Lots of slick and on point dialogue between the characters and grab your attention drama.
I wasn’t sure how to read the imagery in conjunction with the title. I gathered that a love triangle was being conveyed. But after reading the story, I’m unsure of how the gorgeous woman standing in front of a shiny car with two men in the backdrop communicates the beautiful and unconventional love story within.
Glimpse Into The Characters…
The story opens up with Prince Myers being incarcerated, facing the ugly reality that any inmate with a woman fears. Disloyalty. Prince is a decisive man, allowing nothing to off set his steps. Not his bid. Not his misguided baby mama, nor the attention grabbing lieutenant that has everyone pining over her attractiveness. Prince’s character didn’t allow being knocked down prevent him from standing on his own two feet. From cover to cover he is a man of principle, living off the creed of respect.
Solange is the mother of Prince’s daughter Asia and she was his love that died the moment she betrayed him. She’s a slick, witty, sharp tongued, “do what I gotta do for me” kind of woman. However, a back story explained her motivation of mistrust and longing which aided in overstanding her self benefiting ways.
Nicole is the woman that has turned the jail house in an uproar with her presence alone, but is finding it hard to illicit the awareness of one man. Her body is faithfully at home which is more than can be said for her husband, but her mind is having the affair of a lifetime.
High Points…
If you’ve lived the life from anyone of their perspectives you would know that the high of the story wasn’t so much the events that took place (because reality bites) but the truth that bled from it. I enjoy reading raw life on pages. It’s safer that way.
Kill Scenes...
There was no disappointment in this read. Everything was believable from the ending of one relationship to the beginning of another.
Conclusion…
I was able to feel some type of way about each of the characters, whether I boo’d or cheered them on. From Shaheed, Tash, Mr. Sam, Renegade, Jabbo, Anthony, etc because these authors created their personalities and had them play their parts to the tee. And as a result I was able to do all the verbal sound offs: Aah’s, ooh’s, humph, oh no!, yea-yea and so on. That’s called engaging your readers.
I have a GET or SH*T list for all potential readers.
This book is a GET! (Book Rating – 5 Torches)
Cash and Jennifer Luckett. Your book has just been blazed. This joint is on fiyah!
This book was actions packed from the first page. The characters and the storyline was well developed. This was my first read from this author, and I look forward to reading more in the future!
Prince is currently incarcerated life on the inside. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for what was taking place with his loved ones on the outside. Prince's ride or die shorty, Solange, has ridden off into the sunset with his daughter and his stash leaving him feeling bitter and betrayed. Solange knows that Prince was literally her prince in shining armor elevating her status even after learning about her promiscuous past.
Solange's good looks and banging body only led her to relationships with men who were interested in getting in between her legs, leaving her bitter and distrustful. So why then would she betray the one man who showed her unconditional love? It wasn't Solange's intention to do Prince dirty but a girl has needs and with the time that Prince was sentenced to, she definitely needed someone to fulfill those needs. But when her indiscretions make it all the way back to the prison she has no choice but to play out the hand that she's been given.
Meanwhile, there's a new lieutenant on the cell block that has every inmate lusting after her. Every inmate that is except for Prince who knows that if his ride or die chick couldn't be loyal, there's no way that loyalty could be found with a married correctional lieutenant. The @#$% The Police tattoo on his back reveals exactly what he feels about po-po and no matter how fine Lt Nicole Wright is she's still po-po.
Authors Ca$h and Jennifer Luckett penned an enticing collaboration with A Dirty South Love. The story flowed effortlessly and readers will be unable to tell which author penned which part. I especially enjoyed the attention given to Solange's character. What could of easily just been another trifling female character usually found in most urban tales was expounded upon. The additional background information provided motivations for Solange's actions and kept her from being stereotypical and one dimensional helping to make A Dirty South Love stand out amongst other books in its genre.
Final Rating 4 Stars Delonya Conyers ARC Book Club Inc.
I've become a fan of Ca$h's work and this one did not disappoint. As with his previous novels, "A Dirty South Love" was mixed with hood drama, hood love, hood people and hood situations. I couldn't help but laugh at the exploits of Prince's "baby mama" and I had a special place in my heart for Prince. I do feel like there could have been more as far as the story line between Prince and Nicole bc it seemed very short to me. The book took me on an emotional roller coaster and I was upset when it ended. I look forward to Ca$h's future work as well as Jennifer's.

This book was so good.! I love his style of writing. This story had twists and turns you just don't see coming. The beginning seemed a little slow, but it gave all the background to set the foundation for the story. This was my first time reading CA$H, but can't wait to read more. This is a page turner. Buy this book, you won't regret it! WOW...
This is what you call a true love story it was messed up how that little girl got killed bc of her mama thottin and boppin around but I think Prince and Nicole are made for each other
