yes! Mikalo has a cleft chin and I wanna lick that jaw too hahaha
I hope he shows some dimples.:D

phew! gonna post the photo again it ran away hahaha:D I hope it shows up pretty please.

Mikalo is too good, too good to be True!:(
Well he's young, charming, handsome, rich, friendly, I don't like his accent though, its ringing in my head the way he used yes and no in every sentences oh please stop it.. and nope! he's not an Alpha male so sad:(
He might be a breath of fresh air to those Alpha rich man books we read now a days. I would have love my Mikalo IF he didn't share his Grace...why oh why..come on even nice guys have a high dose of jealousy but Mikalo didn't bother how Grace was dancing and humping on another guy in front of him.no no no no no..and that's not it..in accordance to the trust issue Grace have, he tied and blindfolded her in bed..it would be nice if he's the one doing it but he let his 4 friends do the thing to her..I was totally turn off on that part:(

the story was only told in Ronan's POV->she's Grace by the way.Her parents name her Ronan to be strong but it seems she's not..she's always anxious on Mikalo not getting the job and staying in New York all through out the story, she became thoughtless on other people, she forgot that her best friend has a miserable life..she got jealous about Mikalo when he went to comfort his bestfriend girl or talk to her bestfriend, she has a right on that part but Mikalo keeps on saying that she needs to trust him and not get jealous..

there's a lot of sex in this book but if a story is not poignant the sex scenes becomes dull:)

Why the one star? The negatives just snowballed for me...

1. Mikalo's accent got excruciatingly annoying. After so long, it made him seem unintelligent. Why he was such a coveted employee to hire was beyond me. Am I supposed to believe his business writing is impeccable when he couldn't even speak English properly?

"My second name. The name after my first. Delis. It is Delis. And I am Mikalo Delis. That is my name."

I'm not one to down an accent, that's not exactly the issue; the issue is making me wanna buy what this author is selling and that was a big fail. I highly suggest trying out the sample. Not sure how long it is, but it may be enough to convince you to steer clear.

2. I didn't like ANY of the characters, especially the heroine. Ronan was too dramatic. From the jump, I pegged her as a nut-case when she started spouting her feelings of love when absolutely nothing happened. A week hadn't even passed when she was contemplating quitting her job to be with him. UH,yeah...no. ONE. Who says he wants to be with you? TWO. What the hell do you know about him? THREE. You've known him less than a week, nutbag!! At the point she was contemplating all this, I didn't even find anything about him attractive. Just because the author can tell me he's all that and a bag a chips doesn't mean I'm a believer. Also, I think their conversation had just consisted of him telling her he was applying for a job at her law firm and that he didn't wan't to bang the skinny girls that were ogling him at another table across the coffee shop. Life changing stuff.

3. One too many turn-offs. You love your alpha-males? Yeah? Well, too bad, this guy is anything but. There was a certain "love" scene that had me re-reading to make sure I got it right. Had me like, "Yeah. that just happened. Disgust-tering." Girls do that, but it is NOT hot when a guy does that,SS! Not cool! It was a bell that couldn't be un-rung. To make matters worse, Mikalo was sappier than Ronan.

"And it is like this, yes. But outside of Athens, in the country and the beaches, up in the cliffs where the sky is so blue..."

Pfft! Cheese-factor times 10. I know they say foreign guys are way more in touch with their sensitive sides and what not but he already had way too much against him for me to find that attractive. Another turn off was the constant use of their damn pet names. It wasn't every sentence, but DAMN! It freaken felt like it!

"'My Grace, she goes crazy at the thought of me talking with a pretty girl.' Shrugging, he lightly laughed. 'Why should this worry my Grace?' This wasn't going the way I wanted it to. I needed to fix it, and quick. 'Mikalo, my Mikalo,' I said..."
Wtf! And you know what? If SS liked Grace so bad, she should have made her first name Grace, not Ronan!

4. When you put everything together, it was unrealistic and unbelievable. I should have known better. A few pages into the book and this chick was claiming she was wet by just looking at him across the room. Come on, really? The amount of clichés this author used was ridiculous.

I think it may have been too soon for me to write this review. I probably should have let myself simmer down a bit. But regardless, my advice would still be this:

Don’t. Just don’t.

Ronan Grace (love the name, by the way) is a successful, hard-working lawyer who meets Mikalo Delis – funny, insanely hot, sexy, rich and adorable, by chance over coffee. Ronan, with her battered heart from a buried past, has given up on romance until she meets Mikalo.

This book is filled with plenty of scorching sex. Just…wow! Several of the scenes were absolutely panty combusting and one particular scene still makes me flush and get hot when I think about it. The banter between the two is remarkable and the dialogue flows smoothly and naturally.

This author captured Mikalo perfectly. His accent and speech was evident in the writing style and it was done so well that I could actually hear his voice and accent in my head as I read the words on the page. Seriously, a guy with an accent is so sexy! The inflections were captured such that it was surely like listening to someone who does not speak English as their first language. It wasn’t difficult to read, quite the opposite. The subtle nuances genuinely brought the dialogue to life. Mikalo’s behavior and thoughts were romantic and erotic. Trust was a big necessity for him. I really liked how he was scripted, although I would have liked more about him. I want to get inside his head and get to know him! We get some personal history on Mikalo but it seems there is so much more to unwrap. Same goes for Ronan. I liked her character and we get a bit of her story, but I didn’t get a visual in my mind or get a real feel for who she is. I don’t believe my feelings had anything to do with character development, because I felt that the author was deliberate to let us just get a peek, or scratch the surface, with the complexity of Mikalo and Ronan.

Shaw’s writing demonstrated true talent and I expect that it will only get better. I felt that this story was enjoyable, unique, creative and interesting. I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished and I was left anxious and hungry for more. I don’t think this book gave me everything I wanted, but I think it gave me anticipation for what’s to come. Overall, I am expectant for the series to continue and eager to see how this story develops and where this author will take me.

Mikalo’s Grace is the debut novel of author Syndra K Shaw and is the first book in a series with 3 more to follow. The next book, Mikalo’s Flame is to be released in February 2013. If you want a sexy, entertaining read –Give it a try!! 4.0 Stars~~

I wanted to love this book I really loved the synopsis and thought that this would be a great read! I was a bit disappointed and very confused at the end.

Mikalo is a young and very wealthy greek man. He went to college to become a lawyer which I question why he would do this with his family's wealthy and companies to run. He is in the US seeing a job, which again is very odd becuase his family is in desperate need of his assistance with their businesses in Greece. Why you ask was he seeking a position in NYC at a law firm? My answer is I have no idea. It was never really explained as to why he would be there and not assuming the role where he was needed most.

I did appreciate the passion he has with Ronan in the book but felt that it was all too fast and seemed too forced at times. She has issues with trust and there is a particiular scene while it is very hot and sexy I don't see it in any way a bridge to trust. I had a hard time believing in that scene creating a trust between Ronan and Mikalo. It just made little sense to me. I wont' give specifics becuase it would spoil it for those that wish to read it.

There were some really touching parts but, but the character development just seemed very unnatural to me. Mikalo's character is written in broken english since he is greek and it lent a fun sort of quirkyness to his character.

I think that this story has the makings to be great but was just missing some vital development.

I have to say that it is hard for me to write this review and I'm gonna keep it brief. I had really high hopes for this book because the storyline was unlike any of the other romance books out there currently but it was just okay to me...it wasn't horrible and it wasn't that great either.

The one good thing about the story was how you could sense Mikalo's & Ronan's chemistry together and the sex scenes were HOT! My favorite scene in the book was the park scene. That being said there was also a scene that kinda threw me and I am in no means a sexually shy person but this scene was about trust....I get that, but I just can't see it realistically happening....especially not when two people are supposed to be in love!

So this is gonna be short and sweet. This is Syndra's debut novel and I feel there is room for growth. In Mikalo's flame I would like to see more of a storyline plain and simple. While this book was just okay to me, remember each person is different, read the book you may enjoy it.....I just needed more.

Ok first off Mikalo you are one sexy beast..... This story was fantastic none of the characters danced around there feelings Mikalo came right out and told her which I believe Greek men are very much like that :-). I loved how descriptive there love making was. Especially with all the men in one scene holy hotness. I'm happy to have not read about lying and cheating and just read about true love trying to trust and let love into there hearts.(don't get me wrong I do love to read about lying and cheating just not all the time) this book was really different in a good way. Mikalo shows "my grace" how to trust and love after what happened between her and her husband. It was just a fantastic love story and I cannot wait for book 2.

It certainly was a pleasant surprise for me to read this book. I have been reading lots great romance books lately and this one presents a most unique storyline. To be honest it was the main male character (Mikalo) that had me the most intrigued. Of course he is drop dead gorgeous and has money to boot (yay!) however unlike most other romance book characters, he was not the overly possessive/jealous type and his unwavering focus and insistence in ensuring they have trust (and the way he goes about in demonstrating trust) was what I found so shocking (as there was a part in the book where I yelled out "Oh no he didn't!") and undoubtedly fascinating all at once! The way it is written I can just hear Mikalo's accent (which I love!) and found the way he expresses himself very honest, sweet and endearing. It definitely had me on my toes as I read Mikalo's and Grace's love story and mostly because it is not the "traditional" type of love story. I must confess that I LOVED that it pushed the envelope for me and made me really think about the different ways these characters expressed their love for one another. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next one to see where the story goes!

What can I say about Mikalo Delis? Well he is delicious!!! He had me swooning as soon as he started to speak with that accent. He's so attentive to "My Grace's" every thought, as if he can read her like a book. Another thing, My Grace? Who wouldn't want to be called that? Already calling her his was so sweet & romantic... I'm looking forward to learning more about Mikalo...

Thump-thump-thump … the sound my heart makes when I’m excited. The sound of a headboard hitting the wall. The sound of one of Grace’s impending orgasms. Right now, that is the sound of my head hitting my desk. I’m warning you now, the rest of this post may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

I bought this book because the author was promoting it on Facebook and the blurb caught my attention. A romance with a handsome Greek hero? I couldn’t resist. I was only a few pages in when my eyebrows disappeared into my hairline. The main characters have barely introduced themselves to one another and are engaged in some small talk, when his perceptiveness picks up on her mood shift to the table of cackling college-aged females who are ogling him and whispering in hushed tones. Without further preamble, Mikalo just gets right to the point and tells her that she needn’t worry about those girls capturing his attention because they’re too skinny and he prefers a woman with some meat on her bones for … well, you get the idea what that was alluding to. Who talks about something so intimate and personal after a few minutes of meeting someone?

Ronan has trust issues, especially after her loveless marriage that had all kinds of problems. However she is awful quick to let her guard down around a stranger, climb into bed with him and then get jealous whenever a woman is anywhere near him – all of that within the span of a week. She is also self-absorbed that she doesn’t seem to realize her best friend has problems of her own, but she runs to Deni to seek advice. More often than not, it came across that Ronan was just looking for her bet friend to agree with her.

This pair definitely had an abundance of sexual chemistry, but I didn’t buy into the love aspect of their budding relationship. The entire time there’s the possibility of Mikalo leaving New York to go back to Greece. While Ronan has no qualms about wanting him to stay, she doesn’t spare a thought about moving to Greece. I know it sounds unrealistic, but I’m throwing it out there because frankly this entire story was unrealistic, so what difference does it make? Mikalo and Ronan, as well as the entire cast of other characters are all well off, financially, career wise or just socially, yet they’re the unhappiest bunch of people all gathered in one book. Mikalo’s supermodel friend is being abused by her new husband, Deni is a bored, rich socialite with a husband who travels a lot, everyone at Ronan’s firm is basically and adulterer or adulteress who break the no fraternization at the workplace rule.

Towards the end of the book, Mikalo tries to teach/test her trust. Tied and blindfolded to the bed, Ronan is graced with the presence of four other men. All friends of his but she doesn’t know that. They never had a discussion as to whether or not that would be something she’d be interested in trying, they are still just a week into their relationship, and not once was protection mentioned. All of this was just too soon for me to feel anything except disbelief behind their actions.

Let’s move on to the writing in general. The dialogues were often cheesy, but perhaps that is how the author wanted to portray the foreigner. For the first sexual encounter, the author used unnecessary alliterations and metaphors. Unnecessary because it was just too much. With the exception of two sex scenes, each one dragged on so long that I became increasingly bored. Not just because the author was waxing poetic, but Grace’s perception became repetitious to the point of being annoying. Each impending orgasm was a thump-thump-thump until the waves crested, crashed or hit. I feel sea sick just thinking about waves now.

After reading the blurb for book #2, it seems there is more eyeroll-inducing drama ahead for the couple, but I’m not interested in reading more of this series.

1 – 1.5 stars, depending on what floats your boat.

Author Syndra K. Shaw invites you into a week of discovery. Mikalo’s Grace is a week -long escapade of sensuality and learning to embrace emotions of the heart. It is about having a trust in yourself and your heart; allowing these aspects of yourself to guide your actions and decisions.
Mikalo is a beautiful and assertive Mediterranean slice of heaven. He can make you forget everything except for the moment that you are wrapped in his arms. He is not without his own vulnerabilities, however. I should mention that throughout this read, I did feel there are some secrets to Mikalo that will be divulged in the next book. He is an intelligent businessman who is thoughtful and insightful. He lets his heart and his
Ronan is an attractive and successful lawyer who has had her heart sealed by a time so long ago. It was a time where her feelings were not welcomed. Her opinions were not heard and if they were, they were rejected with condescension and guilt.
Shaw gives us a commanding indulgence into what the mind and the body want from someone else. It explores the idea of letting the logical/thinking side of you relent to all your physical desires without any inhibitions or lack of trust.
This is a quick read and I did find myself wanting more. Overall the character and story development was well done. It’s a great book to escape for a couple of hours. I did enjoy that this story had substance and wasn’t just a mindless drone of words.
There are definitely a couple of scenes that are HOT!!!!!!! These scenes really test Ronan and letting go of her inhibitions. You’ll definitely know which ones I’m talking about. *fans self* I look forward to seeing more from Mikalo and Ronan. This is a solid read. D 3.5 stars (because I was left wanting more- like there was something that needed to be explained regarding Mikalo).

“It is life,” he said gently, “And life is to be enjoyed, no? It is to be drank and eaten and savored and loved and filled with laughter and love and laughter.”

This is exactly what this book did for me it gave me love and laughter and love. It is full of life and isn’t that exactly what we look for in a book.

Ronan Grace is a successful lawyer who meets Mikalo Delis over coffee. Ronan notices him right away but since she has a past so she stares never thinking this her prince. In fact she thinks of a lot of other things.

"My second name. The name after my first. Delis. It is Delis. And I am Mikalo Delis. That is my name."

Where to start with My Mikalo, ( yes I refer to him as My) he is beautiful and the minute he spoke with that accent he grabbed my heart. He is what you dream about when you think of a European love he is honest, romantic and endearing. The way he makes Ronan feel is amazing and when he says ”My Grace” my heart skips alittle.
“You are too beautiful for lonely nights, my Grace.”

See did your heart feel it! This is what a love story feels like there’s no cheating, no wishing you could shake the characters just love, just pure butterflies in your stomach and a smile on your face. I cannot wait for book 2 and I can’t wait to see where Syndra takes Mikalo and Ronan on this journey!!!

“Right now we have this. Right now, this moment, we have this walk, this night, you and your arm around me.”

First off I like that Ronan is not your young sweet skinny thing but rather and older ( late 30's I do believe) and has meat on her (no bones and ribs). What's not to love about Mikalo? really he's oh so hot, sexy, loving, caring, I could go on and on. Actually I'm not sure there is anything bad about Mikalo. Now that I said that it is kind of annoying that he is so perfect. Ronan well she has her self doubts about Mikalo and her worthiness for him or even his love for her but her friends kick her butt about that and helps her see the light. Oh there are some oh so hot and sexy sex scenes -one in particular and you will know what I'm talking about when you get to it. Ronan does what's right in the end. The ending was Great and book 2 "Mikalo's Flame" is out now.

Quotes:

"Jesus, Ronan, rein it in. This was a coffee shop. A public coffee shop. Not an all-you-can-eat buffet. And the guy with the great ass was most certainly not on the menu."

"I'd eat breakfast off that butt."

"I don't want to make love to Rice Crispies."

"Without hurt, they never know how lucky they are to have love, no?"

"Had, in the space of fifteen minutes or something, gone from super-successful attorney to Midtown Manhattan booty call."

This is a really great series and I've enjoyed the first two books & cannot wait for the third. This story follows the relationship between Ronan & Mikalo. Ronan first meets Mikalo in a coffee shop & finds out that he will be interviewing at her firm. She is immediately taken by him as she compares him to a Greek God but doesn't think she's good enough to snag him. We learn that they have both lost people they've loved. While Mikalo is willing to open up & love again, Ronan is not so willing. She is even more reluctant when she finds out that there is a good chance he will return to Greece. The love scenes are STEAMY and I loved getting to know both characters & was so glad when i was done to realize that the second book (Mikalo's Flame) was already out :)

I wanted to love this book, but I didn't. I never understood why this rich Greek guy was looking for a job in New York, when he said he loved Greece so much and could never stay away for long. I really couldn't see where the instant attraction came from in regards to his attraction to Ronan. I really didn't understand that scene toward the end of the book that was suppose to... what... build her trust in him or prove her trust in him? Because after that I sure WOULD NOT trust him. Also what was with her best friend... some best friend, and her instant forgiveness... give me a break. Then there were the women hanging all over him and he went with it because, they were sad? They needed him to help them feel better? What the hell. What a load of crap. lol

When I first started this book I found it hard to comprehend in my mind what was being said and the dialogue between the characters. But as I moved through the book I got used to Mikalo's english and the way he expresses himself and found myself drawn to him. There was a scene towards the end that blew my mind, I'm not sure how I feel about it but it definitely acheived what Mikalo was trying to prove. My recommendation would be to persevere through this book. The greek culture and belief systems are well represented in this book and this book is a welcome change to other similar books in the same genre. Thanks Syndra :)

3.5* I enjoyed this book, I wanted more details and more in general though because the characters have lots of potential to get under your skin.

Mikalo's way of gaining Ronan's trust left me speechless...it took me by surprise, it was hot but I question how it had the desired effect...

There's a sequel coming out to this, I wish it was all one book though. I will re-read this before diving straight into the sequel. There's just not enough content to fully "feel" the characters. And they are such good characters you want to know more about!

A great, quick read, just a little confusing at times x

I would just like to say that I thought this was a great book. I have this picture in my mind of an amazingly sexy Greek god with an accent that would melt panties! Poor Ronan is all work and no play, but who could resist Mikalo with his rudimentary, rusty English, gentle touches, and warm smiles. Ronan has trust issues from childhood all the way to adulthood, and Mikalo requires trust to give his heart away. I enjoyed watching the sparks develop and the flames engulf these two. Ronan becomes Mikoalo's Grace body, soul, heart, and mind. I am really looking forward to the next book, Mikalo's Flame

I normally get through a book within 2 days, I have been trying to read this book for over 4 days now, I am sorry Syndra I can not recommend this book, I am struggling with this read, I am not sure what it is, I am having a hard time pin pointing the issue Im just not a fan of it, I do not like the character at all much less have someone tie you up and have other people have there way with you without your knowledge for the purpose of "trust".. I really wish I could give this 5 stars. I hope to read something else of yours and give a great review! For those that love it, I am thrilled I never like to give anyone a review like this!
Good luck!

Book for adults only!

Because it is HOT! I mean, who doesn't want a Mikalo in her life. ;)

Seriously though, I heard great things about this novel on Facebook and I'm glad I read it. It's fast paced, it is a quick read and is entertaining. If you're looking for a spicy novel with a hot greek guy, you can read this one.

But be careful, you'll probably blush a couple of times.

I'm curious to read the sequel now.

This book was just ok for me. There was just something missing and it never really drew me in. For all of Ronan's trust issues she forgave her friend way too easily for me. And she came across as selfish. I don't know I just couldn't find myself liking her. And Mikalo didn't do much for me either. When neither the H or the h can pull you in and make you like them it is hard to stay involved in the story.

I'm not sure what to say about this book. I didn't dislike it, I just felt no connection to the characters and there were a few things that left me slightly confused. I really wanted to like this book, too. It was a well written story though and Syndra Shaw can write some very sexy scenes. I think with a little more character development I would have enjoyed it more.

This one was just OK for me. There was definitely a lot of steam and the story wasn't bad. I just didn't feel very connected to the characters. And it took a really weird twist towards the end that I just couldn't wrap my brain around. I think 3 stars is being pretty generous. Not high on my recommended list.

The way the author presented Milano's accent way too much. A lot of the dialogue with him speaking I had to read 3 or 4 times to pick up the jist if his point. And most times that didn't even help, so I gave up and moved on. And how in the Sam tarnation does what Milako set up to get Ronan to learn trust translate into trust in your partner???
