About the author

Having spent 25 years in the classroom with junior and senior high school students, I love to write for teens. I have my feet firmly planted in two worlds -- the arts and sports. When I'm not writing, there's nothing I'd rather be doing than watching football, baseball, or hockey, travelling, riding my motorcycle, or going to plays. I hope you enjoy meeting my characters as much as I've enjoyed bringing them to life.

Jessie Mac is playing overtime to fit into her new town, and the competition is tough! High school life can be fraught with potential penalties, from drinking to parental expectations to sexual choice. Jesse’s hockey team are still her most valuable players. While her friendships on and off the ice aren’t always what she wants them to be, they’re always real. There’s a lot here to satisfy readers who want to identify with a character who can face her problems head-on, in life and on the ice, and still shake hands at the end of the game. I read an advanced reader's copy of the book with no obligation and really enjoyed it.
