The Vortex and the Leach

Rate this book
This spine-chilling story begins 17,000 years ago in south-east Queensland, Australia when two young boys are faced with their greatest challenge — to save their tribe from certain destruction. Their task is to kill the giant kangaroo that is threatening them all and to do this, they have a powerful weapon, an axe that has ‘magical’ powers.
They kill the kangaroo and sever its head as proof, but at what cost?
Follow the story of the skull as it turns up in the newly-established town of Brisbane in 1828 when convicts discover it while digging the foundations of an important building they are working on. Discover how modern-day international art expert and gallery owner, Al Brebnor, gets tangled up with this skull as he is hot on the trail of an unknown Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece. Follow events as they reach a chilling and deadly climax. Does the slain kangaroo get his revenge after all this time? Was it just the tribe that that was fighting for survival, or all of mankind?
