The whole series is a giant mashup; science fiction, alternate realities, vampires, human genetic variation, monsters, and monsters even from the id! So, it's chock full of goodies, and the only reason it isn't a five star, is because the editing is atrocious! I think they're going back and starting to re-edit them. Because I re-downloaded the first book, and it was substantially better edited! It needs a lot more editing. But still, at least it's fairly easy to read now. So, he's obviously a new, important voice, I can't tell if he's actually British or Chinese. I think he's a Hong Konger. But nevertheless, a truly interesting new take! Oh, and I forgot to mention it has the whole gamer system kind of thing as well! So, talking about major mash up here! Do people use mashups anymore? I don't know. I never did before...
