Mark Robson was born in Essex in 1966 and raised, for the most part, in Camarthen, West Wales. In 1982 he gained a scholarship to join the Royal Air Force as a pilot and has worked for them ever since. He successfully self-published the four book series, The Darkweaver Legacy, the first book of which was largely written during tours of duty in the Falkland Islands. He now lives in Northamptonshire with his family.
Whilst not quite as good as the first book, Trail of the Huntress is an enjoyable and inventive (if often ridiculous) sequel. This book focuses mostly on Jenna and her role as The Huntress, following the battle at Mantor. Whilst the Terachites have been forced back, the people of Shandar have invaded.
A sorcerer has a prophetic vision of Calvyn leading the people of Shandar to victory against Thrandor and so they kidnap Calvyn, summon a demon to eat his soul, and then stick him at the head of the invading army (I said it was ridiculous!). It's an absurd plot, but it's fun. It also allows the book to focus a lot on Jenna, who proves to be a dedicated and sensible young woman.
Another beautifully written book! I've read this multiple times and I love it every time!
This is the story of how Jenna rescues Calvyn from the biggest amount of trouble he has been in so far. To say anything more would just ruin the book for others so I shall leave it at that. Suffice to say I love, love, love this book!! We get to see a lot of character development, my love of Derra soars in this book, as does my respect for Jenna and Demarr.
No matter how many times I read this I always come away feeling satisfied.
Even better than the first of the series (although I may be biased as my name is Jenna as well!). Robson adds some very unexpected plot twists and a whole new perspective on magic.
