A Touchdown of a Book

I really enjoyed reading "Through My Eyes" by Tim Tebow. It showed the multifaceted abilities of this football hero.

He was very specific in details of his preparation both on and off the field.

Beyond that, put shows how important his faith is in forming a great person who's heart reaches out to help those who cannot help themselves.

Personal Response
Tim Tebow's autobiography tells of Tim’s life from childhood to the NFL. Although he started out playing baseball he ended up playing football instead. The book reveals the challenges as well as the victories experienced by Tim Tebow. Throughout the book it shows how important his family and religion are to him.

Plot
This story takes you to a variety of places where he played football and baseball. When Tim Tebow was a young boy he started playing baseball. He of ten went mission trips. A location he frequently visited was the Philippines. Tim Tebow's parents were missionaries and Tim was born in the Philippines. He spent several years there as a child and returned often as a missionary. This impacted his self confidence and way of life to this day.Tim Tebow is the youngest college football player to win the Heisman Trophy. His role as quarterback was fantastic as he set many records at the University of Florida. He was very competitive and blamed himself if the team lost.

Characterization
This book shows that he dad a close relationship to his family. Tim Tebow's parents went to as many games as they could. Tim's siblings and he were raised to be very competitive, no matter what they were doing. From start to finish this book shows his love for people and especially his coaches, children, and all his teammates. At the University of Florida Tim Tebow became very fond of coach Mick. His siblings and parents were very supportive of his football career.

Impacts of setting
When Tim Tebow spent time in the Philippines, he learned tolerance and respect for all people. At the University of Florida, he gained confidence. He learned how to become a good leader, on and off the football field. All his coaches and teammates respected him.

Recommendation
Since Tim Tebow is still in the news, I recommend this book to all football fans. It will appeal to both men and women who appreciate an easy read. Middle school students can read and enjoy this book. Due to his strong Christian faith, he has been criticized by the media and coaches. As a fellow Christian I think that is unfair. I admire his family values and the strategies he uses to play football. This book shows a man with courage who stood up for what he believes in and lives his life accordingly--a lesson for all of us.

Rating
I gave this book five stars because it was informative, easy to read and understand. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book to anyone ages as an inspirational book. Readers of any age would find it interesting.

Reading Strategy #1 Preview
My preview of this book will probably be told throughout my next 4 Reading Strategies. But he book Through My Eyes by Tim Tebow tells you about what He did growing up as a kid and how life was growing up on a farm and switching schools and always leaving one practice to go to the next for sports.

Reading Strategy #2 Predict
Throughout my time reading the book, I was always predicting what was going to happen next, during whether he would choose to go into the NFL or stay on his college team for longer. I knew from the beginning just from knowing about football that the book would talk more about his career when he was in the NFL however that wasn't true the book talked more about how he grew up and his religious life. But i was always predicting what would happen next when he went into detail about games he had growing up and when he finally got into the NFL

Reading Strategy #3 Visualize
While reading the book Through My Eyes by Tim Tebow he made it easy to visualize. One thing about this biography of him is that he walks you through football games he had growing up until his Professional Career as an NFL player. I was able to visualize plays in his games because of the way he wrote the book he gave good information.

Reading Strategy #4 Make Inferences
Just like the paragraph I typed in my reading strategy number two, I was always making inferences and connecting and predicting what would happen next. Especially toward the end of the story when he was thinking about whether he was going to go into the NFL or finish college, He was running into predicaments along the way and didnt know what was going to be right for him. I thought back to my life and started making inferences trying to think of what choice he would make.

Reading Strategy #5 Connect
I can connect to this book in a couple ways. I'm not as religious and in depth with god and things but I can definitely connect to going to church and being close to god like Tim Tebow was. Some other things I can connect to are football, I used to play football as a kid and was confident in it, but other than him I decided to quit it.

Through My Eyes: A Quarterback’s Journey is an autobiography about Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow played college football at the University of Florida. He had a very successful career. At a young age, Tim was very talented at baseball and football. He played baseball all the way into high school but then decided to focus on football. At Florida, he won two national championships and won the most prestigious award in college football: The Heisman Trophy. He was inspired by God at an early age. His parents were missionaries and they traveled to the Phillipines quite frequently. He was born in the Philippines and he traveled back there when he was 15 as a missionary. He continues to inspire kids about God everyday. He goes to schools and talks to children about being inspired by God. He did not have a very successful career in the NFL but he had a few good games. Tim Tebow is a good character and role model.
In my opinion, this book was well-written and very entertaining. It was entertaining because he talked about his exciting games and how his team won the national championships. I thought this book was a good book but there were some areas that he could have explained a little more. For example, when his team won their second national championship, he could of explained more about the opposing team. Other than that, this book had few errors and was written very well. I have no negative feelings about this book at all. It is a very good book overall.
This book was very effective, powerful, beautiful, and it was not difficult to read at all. There are many strengths in this book and not many weaknesses. The strengths are how he detailed and how he explained each game and event that he was talking about. The only noticeable weakness is in some areas he explained the details about his team, but he didn't explain much about the opposing teams. I would recommend this book to a classmate who is into sports and wants to know more about Tim Tebow. People may want to read this because it is very well written and is very good. Overall, this is a great book and it is one of my favorite books that I have ever read.

Tim Tebow Trough My Eyes
Tim Tebow
205 pages
biography

Tim Tebow Through My Eyes is about Tim when he was a child and now and also how he got into the NFL. When he was a child he was really into sports and played whatever season it was he would play a sport in that season. When Tim was a boy they moved to a farm and was homeschooled by his parents. Also he really worked hard in sports and worked out a lot and that is why he is a pro athlete because he works hard.

I like this book because it is cool to know how he became interested in football and what other sports he played as a child and which one he liked best. Also I liked this book because I learned a lot of stuff that I didn't know about him and it is always cool learning new things about pro athletes. I would recommend this book to 7th graders who are into sports and like to watch football and like watching Tim Tebow play.

Young fans of Tebow will truly enjoy this book; I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would. It's well written for young readers and contains lots of stories about his growing up years as well as detailed accounts of some of his famous games. His determination to win is very evident, surpassed only by his desire to live for Jesus, and both themes come through loud and clear. He also has a good sense of humor and has had some crazy things happen to him!

Each chapter starts with a Bible verse, most of which work into the text. Tebow is unapologetic about his faith, but he's not in-your-face about it. He is simply telling you what's important to him and why he is the way he is. I believe most readers will appreciate this.

He also talks quite a bit about his family and their homeschooling experience, which will be particularly enjoyable to some readers.

I'd recommend this book to sports fans and those who like biographies about current day people.

This book is a very motivational and interesting book. It talks about the origins of a very famous man and former NFL player named Tim Tebow. I like that the story not only focuses on his love to the game, it talks about his relationship with God and what he makes to help person in need. Reading this book made me reflect on how am I helping others. He is one of the persons I would like to be alike because as said in the book he always look the best way to help others. Tim has done many charity work in many places like the Philippines thought his life. This made the people knew what his personality truly was. Even though he won the Heisman Trophy and played with the Broncos he is as humble and ambitious as if he was still in college football.

⭐️⭐️ - Why is this a book? This was nine hours of "The game started off well. In the second quarter, I rushed for a touchdown to tie Herschel Walker for the all-time SEC rushing touchdown record. But things went downhill from there. We were ahead 13-3 right before halftime and were driving against the Mississippi State defense, trying to put the game away. We were inside their 10-yard line. Coach Mullen knew exactly what my check was on this certain play, so they showed like they were blitzing but didn’t. I threw it up to the corner at the goal line as they anticipated. It was tipped and intercepted by Jonathan Banks who ran it back for one hundred yards for a touchdown, making at 13-10 going into the locker room at halftime.”

And this was one game in the 2009 season. Prior, Tebow detailed the 2006 season, the 2007 season, AND the 2008 season. Game by game by game by game. 🙄

I like Tim Tebow and have read his other two books. If I wanted a play-by-play of homeschool, HS, college selection, college, NFL draft, etc., I would have just watched ESPN. 🙄

I am not a sports fan, and until now, I knew almost nothing about Tim Tebow.

My nine-year-old son read this book a couple of times and declared it his new favorite. Then, he asked me to read it so we could talk about it.
Obviously, I wasn't going to turn him down.

Heather the Teacher Says: Through My Eyes is a fantastic book for upper elementary and middle grade students who enjoy football and biographies. It is easy to follow, fast-paced, and presents a great story.

Heather the Mom says: I love that this is my son's favorite book. It's full of messages about having a positive attitude, not giving up, making good choices, and finishing what you start. In Through My Eyes,Tebow encourages readers to treat all people with kindness and respect, to apologize when you're wrong, and to help others who are in need. Those are the values I want my children to have.

His story about his life was good, but I am a woman and just not "into" football so all the "play-by-play" commentaries on every game and almost every play of the games was exhausting. I had to skim many paragraphs to get to more interesting parts for me.

I would love to know more about his life since the NFL.
