Where should I start. First I love G street work, I feel I can read any book by them and not be disappointed. This book I was a little disappointed by.
Brothaz is a story about two twin brothers Malachi and Malik who were separated a few months after their birth. Neither brother knew about each other but they always had a feeling that something was missing. Both twins are polar opposites, Malik is a law abiding citizen who is a faithful husband as well as a lawyer. Malachi on the other hand is on the other side of the law and participates heavily in Atlanta's drug trade. On a regular evening Malik gets caught up in what is intended for his brother, and that night changes both of their lives forever. Malik doesn't remember his parents, his life, or anything, the only thing he wants to remember is his wife. Natalia, Malachi's girlfriend is the one who finds out about Malik and sits by his side while he tries to regain his life. Natalia thinks Malik is Malachi and so does everyone else that is until Malachi comes back into town thinking something is wrong with his woman. The book does contain some twist and some secrets come out that have been buried deep within.
Overall, the STORY of the book was pretty good If i was just basing my review on the story I would want to give it a 4. The story had some parts that were believable and other parts that seemed a little far fetched. I did enjoy how the characters seemed to interact with each other always looking out for one another. Since I felt like i was reading this book forever I cant do that. I felt like there was a lot of extra fluff in the book that really could have been taken out to make the story flow better. The book also had no type of time line it just seemed as if they were going didn't know if it was a week later, day later or hour. Some parts of the book I was wondering why it was in there. Then some parts didn't flow well it was like one second a character was putting on their clothes and the next sentence they were in the club talking to so and so. There were a few sentences that didn't make any sense. It also switched scenes back in forth like dealt with one character then it went to someone else right back to what the last character was doing. In the beginning I was confused because of the characters that were there and who the Hatcher was so I had to reread that. Editing was not very good. There was misuse of words like or and are things like that also confusing characters calling them different names.
I'm not too sure if I would read part 2, the synopsis of this part said an ending you wont see coming, to me nothing really shocked me at the end. So to me the book was just ok.
For me, the story line was good. However, the author did a poor job in getting their points across to slow. she kept on going back and repeating words and getting the characters mixed up a lil. It was a 264 page read and could have easily finished less than that. Also, she created more characters in the middle of the book and their story could have been easily told int he beginning. Like I said the story was good but the writing made the book less than good.
I found "Brothaz" to be an interesting but challenging read. The premise was familiar with a good plot. Unfortunately there were so many characters that occasionally even the author got confused. With some additional research and editing this could definitely become a 5 ☆ read.
The storyline was okay but it wasn't developed well. I feel like I have been reading this forever and struggled to finish. The confusion stems from many minor editing mistakes, switching the characters names constantly misspelled words, wrong context. this book was just okay nothing else
