About the author

Reading and writing have been an integral part of my life. As Examined Lives details, my childhood was very chaotic and books were my delightful escape. I would spend an entire day reading my myself, but also enjoyed reading books out loud with my aunt.

Later in life, after graduating with a master's degree from the University of Chicago, I spent most of my career writing curriculum materials for high school students. My most successful textbook has been utilized by over a quarter of a million students.
