Rita Rita is offered as a romance, but readers who like crime and suspense will enjoy the fast moving plot. I found myself reading as fast as I could because the suspense keeps building as two women find themselves caught in a tangled web of gangsters and mystery.

Josie falls for the hired right-hand man, but is afraid to reach out to him for fear of revealing her true identity. Rita escapes for a secret “vacation” and meets her true love, but is in constant fear that the mob goons who constantly guard her might find her.

Rita Rita is set in a subculture of hard-drinking characters whose emotions and insecurity make them believable and human. Tony, a pivotal figure in the story, is a complex character who tries to juggle a legitimate construction business, his position in the mob doing illegal activity, and his love life.

The dilemmas faced by the characters spiral to an exciting juncture that leaves the reader wanting more. Can hardly wait for the next book in the trilogy.
