I throw Abel a critical look. "They're named Maria and Josef? That's a joke, right?"
"No. Why?", replies Abel. "We're in Bavaria. It would be weird if the two were named otherwise."
"And he is... a carpenter?"
"What do you have against this honorable profession?"
"And do Maria and Josef happen to have a son, that has tacitly been adopted by Josef?", I ask.
"Coincidentally, yes. [...]"
"And your son is called Jesus", I'm guessing.
"Christian, actually", Abel corrects me.
"Do you remember when it was, that Abel first claimed to be God?", I ask.
"Christian turned 21 this summer", replies Maria. "So logically, 22 years ago."
She makes the cross sign again, as if heavenly support could always be useful when it comes to her relationship with Abel Bauman.
"And have you two tried to help Abel at the time?"
Josef nods energetically. "I have personally dragged Abel to minister Oettinger. But Oettinger couldn't do anything for him either. Our minister had then informed the diocese. The Bishop had replied, that this was not under the Church's jurisdiction. Had Abel been possessed by the Devil, then he could've been exorcised. However against people possessed by God Almighty Himself, even the Vatican was powerless."
