I was so excited to finally have my hands on Blue Moon. I finished this novel in an eight hour work day. No, I didn't get much work done. She captured me with the first Holloway pack novel Darkness & Light. Mrs. Belfield has done it again with another page turner.  Page after page she drives you in with intrigue until the very end. She takes you on a journey from past to present with the Holloway Pack men and Jem. Her characters continue to grow from being timid to bad ass. I fell in love with Jem and Sean’s relationship from the first Holloway Pack book. Blue Moon was compelling and enticing. The relationships between the characters is dynamic and sensual within the pack.

I loved this book!
Her writing is smooth and her voice is amazing. If you haven’t read The Holloway Pack series, you must!

Okay ... Yes! I have been on a string of great reads lately and Blue Moon is no different. I loved it. I’m such a sucker for the triple threat of great action, romance and the paranormal coming together in a perfect storm of terrific writing. In the capable hands of Ms. Belfield, we’re taken on another leg of Jem and Sean’s journey together, and it’s done with humor, passion and mystery. I love how I can see, taste, and smell her writing as if I’m right there. I’ve come to love these characters and miss them when I’m done reading. I want to call them up and invite them over for dinner. Just to check in and see how they’re doing. How twisted is that?

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to lovers of paranormal romance. It’s a fun and satisfying read from a wonderful author.

Oh wow oh wow I neeeed the next installment....review to you do NOT want to miss this brrrrilliant book.
MY REVIEW
I received this E-arc directly from J Taylor Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
I like the cover, the blue moon which if you don't know what one is, is actually a second full moon in the same month. A Blue Moon is said to be a very magical time and enhance any magic/spells done at that time. I like the "moodiness" of the cover, the figure suggests seduction.
In this book, we "see" more of Jess who is Jem's sister. Jess researches and practice witch craft, which ends up coming in rather handy.
Everyone in the pack is working at the apartments. Jem is doing the internal decorating seems to be going well for them all. Then thing look like getting even better for Josh, as he seems to have attracted a little female attention. So how does Jem cope with another female interacting with her pack "brother" Josh. Well she isn't impressed, she immediately suspects something is not quite right about the female called Marianne. So is Jem's women's intuition correct or is it a case of plain old jealousy?
There's twists and turn's aplenty in this book. It keep's you hooked and on the very edge of your seat. So the blurb describe's the woman who Jem ends up against as a "thief of the worse possible kind" what has the woman stolen from Jem. Knowing Jem as a feisty woman you know that she will move heaven and earth to get back what was stolen from her. In this book we get a taste of Jem's "motherly" side, her protectiveness towards all the members of her pack. They are not just her "pack" they are her family. It's a touch and go fight right up towards the end of the book. We meet a new "race" of supernaturals in this book, which just adds more and more possibilities to the Holloway Pack series. Through Jess, Jem realises she can harness other powers than her werewolf ones.
It's no secret that I love how this author writes, and I didn't think I would ever say this but this book was actually even better than book one!
So did I enjoy the book? I love, love LOVED it! Do I wish to read more in this series? Yes please "pretty please"! Would I read more by J.A. Belfield? Definitely Yes. and finally, Would I recommend? Yes very highly, would be willing to shout about from the rooftops it's so brilliant!, though I feel I should warn that it does contain sexual references etc so for adults and mature teens. The "scenes" are nowhere near as explicit on some "family" aimed programs.
I seriously cannot wait for the next book. I have a little inkling of an idea what may be going to happen and I SO hope it happens in the next book, it would open up so very many more opportunities for the books progressing too. I also hope to see more of Poppy and Jess again. Maybe Jess could....er...get it together with Ethan? .....
Final words on the book are MUST READ, MUST BUY!

The follow-up book to J.A. Belfield’s Darkness & Light wasted no time in getting on my good side. The first chapter is short, but features Sean and Jem hunting as wolves, and whenever a novel starts off from a were’s POV I just know that it’s going to be good. Stonehouse and I didn’t exactly hit it off in the first installment; I found her a little too weak to be even considered a heroine. However, in Blue Moon she brings her A-game and proves me wrong; she’s now a fully adapted, kick ass werewolf with claws. The Sean sexy time that I loved so much in the first book is back in full force and there’s plenty of action to go around. Blue Moon has definitely earned my werewolf stamp of approval!

In the earlier portions of this story Jem gets struck with a mad case of territorial mojo and I worried that she may have fell off her rocker during our time apart. Two of the Holloway Pack members have new girlfriends and she morphs into the green-eyed monster also known as jealousy. Jem is already engaged to Sean so at first I didn’t get what her issue was. Did she really expect that she’d be all seven pack members’ one and only? I was in the process of buckling down for a bumpy read when her suspicions proved true which forced me to look at her in an entirely new light. Even though Jem started this book out on shaky ground she had more than proved herself by the end in this installment.

The closing sentence of my Darkness & Light review was: “I hope Sean forgoes wearing a shirt… and pants, in the next installment.” So imagine my delight when he and Jem get it on again, and again, and again… in fact, I lost count of how many times they do the nasty in the first one hundred pages! They aren’t all long, descriptive scenes of course but they were definitely enough to get my motor running! I think that Belfield wanted to make sure that readers got their Sean fix in before she unleashed the second part of this tale on them. And, I totally approve of her strategy!

We also get a lot of Ethan time in this novel which I enjoyed. The first book was mostly centered on Jem and Sean so it was nice to get to know some of the other Holloway Pack members. I enjoyed Nathan a great deal too; their werewolf alpha does have a softer side, it’s just very deeply buried. The relationship between Josh and Jem was a little on the weird side and becomes doubly so when witchcraft gets involved. I only hope that this creepy element won’t be an on-going thing in this series. Jess plays a larger role as well; I think her witch background will tie in nicely with the weres and who knows, maybe there’s a sexy pack mate in her future too!

Blue Moon took the Holloway Pack series to a whole new level with its well-crafted plot, bone crushing action and scorching sex scenes. Now it’s time to batten down the hatches and prepare for Caged!

Once again, J.A. Belfield has blown me away! I absolutely LOVED Blue Moon! I loved that you get to see Jem as a member of the Holloway Pack, and that you get to see her with Sean! :D I also really enjoyed seeing her interactions with the other Pack members. :)

My one piece of advice about this book though...do not start it when you have no time to read it! You will not want to put it down, so you'll be in trouble. :P From the moment this book starts, you will want to keep reading, so don't say I didn't warn you. :P

Along with how addictive this story was, I really enjoyed the plot. I wasn't expecting it to go the way that it did, but once Jem started having her suspicions...so did I! I must admit, I figured it out first, but that's probably because I know her some of her past better than she does from reading the novella from her past life with Sean. :P It was awesome having certain bits from the novellas fall into place in this story though...I liked getting to see Jem figure things out and remember memories that we readers got to experience firsthand in the novellas! It was awesome! :D

Another thing that I loved about this one was Jem's relationship with her Pack. Of course, I loved all of her moments with Sean! I'm a huge Sean fangirl, so I'm always happy to get some time with him through Jem. :P I also loved seeing her tease Nathan and Ethan, and how close she was to Josh, and while she wasn't quite as close with the others, I liked that she did have a pretty close connection to them. I hope to get to see more of the Pack interaction in upcoming books! :D

Other random awesomeness includes Jem's sister, Jess, having a bigger role! I'm really looking forward to having Jess more involved in the series...and Blue Moon hinted that she will continue to play a role...I'm thinking in future book's this role may fit in with Ethan. ;) *hint, hint* I may be wrong though...but either way, those two would make a sexy couple. Ethan himself is pretty sexy...*sigh* he's my favourite...other than Sean that is! haha

Anyway, Blue Moon was fantastic! As always, J.A. Belfield's writing captured me and kept me enthralled until the very last page...and I'll be waiting for the next Holloway Pack story anxiously and excitedly!!! Overall, I'd recommend this series to any werewolf fans, especially if you like hot guys (and who doesn't really :P), and if you like feisty heroines who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty! :D

I got a copy for review in exchange for an honest review.

I had some issues with the first book, but decided to give the second book a try because the blurb sounded so interesting. And I am really glad I did, in my opinion this book is much better than the first book. The plot was interesting and fast paced and there were some nice twists and turns.

The focus of this plot is really different than the first book. Instead of focusing on Jem and her getting to know the pack and her werewolf heritage, in this book Jem is integrated in the pack and a new problem arises when Jem has her suspicious of the new girlfriends of two of her pack members. There where twists I didn’t see coming and I liked where the author took the story. The pace of this book is faster too, when I picked up the book I wanted to keep reading.

While parts of the story are still a bit predictable I was also surprised a few times. And those times where moments where I thought “wow I really didn’t see that one coming”. The plot was really interesting and I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen.

The characters grow in this book, especially Jem. In this book she really shows her strength. There also is enough action and although I didn’t agree with all of her decisions, I liked her more in this book than in book one. One of the problems I still have with this book is that I didn’t really had a good idea of who the side characters where, I felt like we still don’t know much about their personalities. There were some side character that got more attention in this book, but there are also a few characters that I still don’t have a good idea of who they are.

The world building is build a bit more upon in this book and I liked learning more about this world. I also liked seeing more of the pack and the adventures they faced.

To conclude: I really liked this book, the plot was interesting and fast paced. I liked seeing Jem and the other characters develop and the world being developed more. I am certainly looking forward to reading the next book and there are still two prequels I have to read!

*I was lucky enough to get my paws on this puppy earlier!!!*

Nenner nenner nenner!!!

Blue Moon is the second installment of the Holloway Pack books. Once again we’re following Jem and Sean, but this time it’s not Jem whose life is in danger. This time it’s the female werewolf kicking major witch @$$ to save her pack.

I loved this book. Thrilling, fast-paced from beginning to end. Anyone with brothers and a close knit family will understand Jem’s protective nature. And this leads me into …

Yummies: The characters and the dynamics of their relationships. They’re human and yet Ms. Belfield makes them come alive with that ‘dog’ feel. How they play, rough house, nip, & nuzzle - a little eyebrow raising here & there but only because there’s hardly ANY jealousy from Jem’s mate, Sean. It’s all so dog like, so pack like that it’s totally believable.

Sniff too closely and that nip might sting a bit though. *wink*

The tension was palatable. The emotional turmoil charged to the max. Did I just type that??!? Yes. To. The. Max. I felt Jem’s fear, anger, & rage. I grinned like a fool when the kick witch @$$ climax arrived in all its stealth & fury. Rip those throats out! Woo Hoo!

Sicko, I know.

Yuckies: None. Seriously. Nothing about this book bothered me or caused a frown to etch my brows.

Recommend: Duh with a capital D. Nab a copy. Now. You can thank me later.

Finished this in one sitting, the only pause I took was to eat when my own 'mate' came home from work. I couldn't and wouldn't put it down!

Blue Moon is imho even better than it prequel Darkness & Light. But the main thing, that makes me love all of Julie's books, is the way she describes the bond Jem and Sean have. The bond of true love. I've never read anything that describes my feelings as perfect as the Holloway Pack stories do.

Blue Moon is another jewel in a series of amazing stories, with lovable characters. Read this now!

Ugh! Why did the book have to end?!? I want more!!

Review:

I really loved seeing the pack dynamics and how they all interact with each other, especially when it comes to Jem. She is a perfect fit in the pack puzzle and in this book and she finds out how far she’s willing to go to protect the ones she loves.

I’m also pretty sure J.A. Belfield is an evil temptress. She will bewitch you, lure you into her story, and then twist your mind up with jaw dropping twists and heartbreak. She will keep you guessing until the very end and leave you begging for more.

Jem kicks butt in the latest installment from the Holloway Pack.

Jem has gotten used to being the only female in her pack of gorgeous, hunky men. A new threat has her grinding her teeth to protect them. No one messes with Sean or her family. Jem will do whatever it takes to save her boys- flirt with danger, disobey her Alpha and even leave the pack. A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do, and Jem does it all!

Ms. Belfield has written another addicting addition to her amazing storyline! I could not put this one down. I can’t wait to read more about this pack of yummy guys!

This is another great book in the series. I won this book too in a giveaway, so it was free!! I did run out and buy two of the other books in this series though!!! I will definitely continue to read the series. Jem is a fantastic heroine, and I love learning more about her, her past, and her love. I will always love strong heroines and Jem certainly is one. You easily lose yourself to the world J.A. Belfield creates. The only thing I disliked is the ending and having to wait for more especially with the cliffhanger ending. I recommend to all shifter lovers :)

WOMEN POWER. Go Jem!!!

Blue Moon is much more action and stress packed than Darkness & Light. It has a different vibe that makes it as interesting as its prequel. Nobody wants to read the same thing twice which is why this book is so interesting.

We also get to meet Jess, the mysterious sister who knows so much about magic. She is the pack´s life saver, litterally.

As for the ending... how in earth are we supposed to wait until August to know what´s happening with him???

Gotta say, I lurved this sequel to Darkness & Light and the latest threat to the Holloway Pack.
I can’t really add to the synopsis so straight on to my thoughts….
What I liked about Blue Moon was the shift of the focus from Jem to the pack as the potential victim(s), we tend to automatically assume that Jem will always be the target -with the werewolf community being predominantly male and Jem being the only female- but this shows us never to presume you know anything. It was easy to assume that Jem was being jealous and territorial, it did come across that way, none of her pack believed her in the beginning and because Josh was the focus of the female’s attentions it was again assumed that she was jealous. I really felt for her then, it was really sad that no one would take her intuition for what it was and even though she couldn’t understand it much herself, she still knew enough to be cautious and they totally dismissed that – had it been me, I would have felt let down by those I trusted most in the world. I was glad that it was Sean that got on board quickly with her feelings of mistrust but again, it took their shared history for him to do that not his belief in Jem which took away some of his ‘sweetie’ points. I also hated the deterioration of her relationship with Josh, it was sad and really showed the bond they had shared and how powerful it was but also gave the sense of what was at stake and how easy things could go wrong.
I enjoyed the storyline A LOT - the threat to the pack brought something very different to the series and introduced us to a different kind of magic and the fact that the enemy is female shouldn’t make you expect any less deviousness, in fact I think you should expect more because men seem more direct in their threats. It’s quite hard to talk about the storyline without giving things away and it’s too good to spoil but let’s just say…. You will never guess the motive… it was so good and so unexpected. I have to say that the females in this book were the main attraction and because of that, it felt different too, like as if a different game was being played than what you are used to, with different rules and the result can’t be predicted and it all led up to a kick ass, girl power showdown that was awesome!. Even though the situation ends up dire, there are still a few laughs to be had, Jem being the centre of one which was fun but could have been disastrous and Jem’s mouth does bring some awesome back chat – all joking aside though, Jem impressed me again with her strength, her stubbornness, her faith, her loyalty and her protectiveness of her pack and she really is an Alpha in the making. We get a few surprises thrown into the story with a new arrival and we eventually meet Jess (Jem’s sister) the witch who is awesome and hoping we get something more from her…. Maybe she caught the eye of a certain someone ;) I think the consequences of what happens in this will be felt for a while and there is one big lose end that needs putting right, so I’m off to read Resonance.

First off, I love that cover. It's so stunning. Just wow!

I dived into this book without having read the first four Holloway Pack series books (Instinct (Holloway Pack, #0)Eternal (Holloway Pack, #0.5)Darkness & Light (Holloway Pack, #1)Into The Unknown (Holloway Pack #1.5) but it really didn't matter as the book does good as a standalone.

It's been really long since I read a book about werewolves and mostly because I have been weaning myself off those since I have started to feel they have nothing new to offer and are repetitive after  a point. However, this one broke the mould, not only does it have an entirely new plot, it also has ...... uh oh, can't tell you that, it will spoil the book for you. But I will just tell you it has something or someone that is entirely new to me in their association with werewolves, so it was a huge surprise and kicked off some great action.

The book has its share of genres from paranormal to romantic to mystery to thriller to action. What a wide variety!

I loved the camaraderie between the Pack especially between Jem and Josh. I loved how Ms. Belfield defined their relationship, so beautiful. And you know how I love a strong female character. In this one the female, Jem steals the show with her brain and brawn. And although I felt she was a bit stubborn and impulsive at times, well, that does come for free with a strong character, doesn't it?

I liked the various twists and turns and how the book never had a dull moment. It catches hold of your attention and doesn't let it go. I read it feverishly, irked  when someone/something interrupted my reading with a silent muttering of 'Oh, come on! I'm in the middle of an action scene. Why don't you understand?'

So if you love paranormal and haven't yet picked up the series, you must. Even though I haven't read them all, going by the plot of this one and Ms. Belfield's captivating writing style, I think they're going to be just as good if not better. And if you like me have swore off paranormals', give this one a chance, it might steal your heart.

I look forward to reading Resonance (Holloway Pack, #2.5) even more so with the lovely magnet gracing my fridge.

My Review:
It was super good to get back into the contemporary world of the Holloway Pack! I love the historical novellas that I've ate-up over the past year, but I've been jonesing for the continuation of the Jem/Sean story. And **fan girl squeal** it was everything I could even hope for and more!!!

Life, it seems for the Holloway pack has settled into a blissful rhythm..... well, until..... a stranger, Marianne, takes an interest in pack member, Josh. Jem totally freaks in what seems to be a bout of ridiculous jealousy. I just love the "realness" of Jem's behavior. She's responding to emotions of which she's not even sure of the origin. She makes a fool out of herself in the process, but holds onto this gut reaction, knowing somethings amiss despite everyone telling her she's wrong. I love her tenacity and I love her idiot behavior. She may be my long lost twin -- tee hee hee!

There is crazy suspense in Blue Moon! I sucked this book down in two days; I just couldn't put it down!!! I found myself holding my breathe as I read. And I REALLY HATED Marianne! That's the sign of a well-written antagonist!!! I wanted to smack the b#@!% witch and cheered when Jem did just that!

We really got to know some of the smaller characters of the Holloway Pack world. It was great to see Jess, Jem's sister, take a larger role in this book and the magic that came with her. Is that a romance with Ethan I see brewing? Hmmm..... I'm loving that possibility! then there's a surprise character that I won't tell you about..... it's total awesomesauce though!!!!!

And the ending?!? Cliff hanger! Now I've got to wait for book #3, Caged, due out in August!!!

Cover Art:
I love that this cover is both sexy and elegant! It's beautiful with the monochromatic blue color scheme. Yay for good cover art!

Sleep is an extremely valuable commodity in a house with 3 children under 5, so the fact that once again J.A. Belfield has lured me into giving up a large chunk of it speaks volumes for the next instalment of the Holloway Pack story. This was a book I both couldn’t wait to read and dreaded starting, unsure whether I wanted to know what Ms Belfield was going to put the characters through this time, maybe I was better remaining blissfully ignorant believing them all to live happily ever after....... I was wrong, these books just get better and better.

Blue Moon sees us back in the present, following Jem as she settles into life as the only female member of the pack. Life is good, so of course something is about to go very wrong. When a pretty young woman shows up making eyes at her boys, Jem is on high alert. The boys however clearly thinking with their..... Well you get the idea, lap up (pardon the pun) the attention. Despite Jem's concerns the boys forge ahead with their budding romance, creating tension within the pack and ultimately leading to the final confrontation.

The pace is quick, making it extremely difficult to put down, this time round we really get to see the bonds between pack members and more of how they interact with each other. The descriptions of Jem's emotions are raw and powerful, I loved it. When the end came I felt both a little disappointed that is wasn’t as action packed as I thought it was going to be but mostly relieved, I don’t think I could have taken much more emotional turmoil. Resonance is the next instalment and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.

As seen on Rabidreads.ca:

Before I deal too in depth about Blue Moon's content, it is worthwhile to note two well-done elements regarding its form and frame. The E-book I had the pleasure of perusing displayed economical paragraphing (many were only one sentence) that furthered the illusion that what I was reading occurred in real time like a TV series of some sort. The verbs, if I am permitted to geek out a little, and vocabulary were often exciting. Don't even get me started on the rather shocking things our protagonist Jem gets away with in the last hundred pages or so. The other tiny detail that lends credence (and fittingness as a stocking stuffer) to the book is the fact that it starts up right around early December and cruises all the way up to Christmas. So if you were looking for a recent werewolf book with holiday spirit this would be the one. And don't get me started on werewolves. Since Jem lives with an entire pack of them, the narrative reeks of werewolf problems, brilliantly dramatized in the question, "what happens if a previously mono-XX chromosome pack gets some much needed XX chromosome applicants?". The answer comes in extreme jealousy (one might say beastly; in fact, for a while the jealousy came across as a little too over-the-top, but once one settles into the explosive character that Jem can be, it is great fun).

I really liked this one. I also like that it seemed to fix what I was worried would become too much for me in the series - the massive misogyny.

Yes, yes. Werewolves, dominant man, rawr. But it was becoming too much. In the two prequel shorts, I had to continuously remind myself that it was the 18th century, so I didn't get pissed off. Had it continued into the modern story, it would have gotten old really quickly (to me).

Welcome to the 21st century. "Don't you worry your pretty little head, darling" doesn't cut it.

And thankfully, it didn't cut it for Jem either. I'm hoping that's an issue that will be mostly handled now. Yes, it can be a point of friction... as long as the strong women don't just meekly roll over to that shit, it is fine.

Anyway! Fun series! I'm plowing through it at lightning speed!

So I absolutely LOVED this installment of the Holloway Pack series. It took me a bit longer to get into as I would have liked, but I was hooked once I got into it. Particularly towards the middle. I swear, I was right there with Jem flipping out & wondering "what the hell are they going to do?!?"

Seriously, this is very much worth the read. The next one in the series can't come soon enough.

At a Glance
I so wanted to give Blue Moon more stars because I really enjoyed it, but the plot wasn't very structured and the ending could have been more exciting. But I still liked it a lot.

The Good
Here's The Story...
Jem is in a good place. She has the love of her life, Sean, by her side and a male pack of werewolves that adore and accept her. Then one of her packmates, Josh, had to go and get a girlfriend and ruin everything. Jem thinks this new girl is bad news, while the rest of the pack just thinks she is being a territorial female. But when Josh starts acting weird and the girl keeps trying to insert herself more into the pack, Jem decides to take action. But will she be too late?

The Pack...
The first thing that caught my eye was the amazing connection the pack of werewolves shared. They are all very playful and loving but they also have fierce emotions that bond them. I wish I would have read the first book because I would have liked to see Jem's initiation into the pack. Her being the only female in the pack gives her some advantages and disadvantages. They try to appease her as much as possible but they also see her fears as frivolous jealousy. But even through their squabbles, they continued to love and care for each other.

Jem...
Jem is both strong and vulnerable. Her emotions are so raw and Belfield let's see every heartbreaking moment Jem goes through in this book. We get so inside Jem's head, I literally felt her emotions as she experienced them. She is also greatly protective of her boys in the pack. She endangers herself to save them from harm. The new girlfriend, Marianne, is spooky in a sweet way. She has this gracious exterior, but we all see the deception that lays behind her eyes. But only Jem is suspicious enough to actively seek out Marianne's plans for Josh.

A Different Kind of Love...
Josh and Jem's relationship was an interesting one. You can tell Josh feels more for Jem than friendship, but he is trying to move on. But when Jem seems jealous of Marianne, Josh gets mixed signals. I felt heartbroken as they fought over the new girlfriend. They have love for each other, even if Jem is in love with Sean.

Getting to the Meat of It...
Though the first half of the book is a little aimless for my taste, the second half really picked up. The mystery behind Marianne was exciting to discover. And the little war between Marianne and Jem made me smile with glee as they tried to one-up each other. I was surprised how nefarious and dark things turned near the end of the book. That was the best part for me. When I read about werewolves I expect some blood and savagery, and we did get that in the end.

I liked the added mystery behind Jem and her lost memories. There is more to her than meets the eye and we find out all about her true past along with her. I would like to continue this series because I am dying to see what is going to happen next.

The Bad
This is a minor thing but the language was a bit off for me, but since the author lives in England, I guess it was to be expected. I started to get irritated with the constant use of "whilst."

My biggest problem was the aimless plot in the beginning. There is no real goal until half way through the novel. I wasn't quite sure why I was reading this book at first. It picks up half way through, which is when things got really interesting, but then the ending, which could have been epic, was pretty simple. No big struggle or "Oh my God, are they going to make it?" feelings.

Many of the characters decisions were annoyingly stupid. What did they think was going to happen when they let bad stuff keep happening without really trying to stop it? I felt like saying "duh" half the time. I like characters that take action, not let things sit till it's too late.

The Snuggly
This definitely has sex it. It was very cute and well done. Nothing overboard, but probably not suitable for YA readers.

I didn't get to experience Sean and Jem's beginning relationship, but I got a great impression of their love for each other in this book. You could tell it went soul deep.

Final Thoughts
Though I only gave Blue Moon three stars, I actually quite enjoyed it. If it wasn't for the aimless beginning and non-struggle ending, I would have given this book 3.5 to 4 stars. I so plan to read the first book and the third book of the series sometime. These characters interest me to no end, and I want to know everything about them. A recommend read.

Quote
Whilst I waited, I cleared away the breakfast plates, piling them into the dishwasher. My head tilted at Sean's footsteps padding back across the landing. Lids lowering, I envisaged his naked body glistening from the water.

My eyes opened. I turned toward the stairs, took a step.

"Sit down." Nathan's attention left his paper long enough to give me his 'stern' look.

When I peered once more toward where my mind had travelled, Nathan cleared his throat. With a sigh, I slumped into my seat, glaring at Ethan's quiet snorts of laughter into his mug.

I read this knowing it was a sequel, but I hadn't read the first book. I did know some of the back story, because once I started it I realized I had read a short story or something about the characters before. The book follows a pack of werewolves made up of two families. There is some reference to past events from the first book, but it wasn't a problem in understanding the events of the second. Since the book revolves more around the romance of the main characters, I would label this a paranormal romance more than an urban fantasy.

The beginning of the book nearly turned me off to the story. It took to long to reach the conflict. Mainly it was the two main characters making googly eyes at each other and having sex every minute. For me, a good love scene is one that is built up too. Maybe the first book had that, but this one it was just two people going at it at the most inappropriate times and places and without any privacy. I'm sure the author was just letting us know that the two main characters love each other, but that can be done without the gag worthy endless "can't keep their hands off" each other love scenes. Luckily, that slowed down when the real story began.

There were some interesting twists that I think were revealed in the first book. First, Jem (the main character) is the only female werewolf ever. That was an interesting twist, that only men can be werewolves. Second, Jem and her lover Sean did some kind of binding ceremony years in the past and their incarnations over the years always find each other and are in love. That was kind of cool. I did also like Jem's interaction with the pack and the unrequited love that the other werewolves felt towards her. That seemed realistic considering that she is the only female of their kind and it added a wonderful longing character to interactions.

The conflict, once it finally showed up, was really good. The author kept the reader in the dark, leaving only the feeling that something was off. So the build up was very good. Most of the characters were well done, although some were so alike I had a hard time keeping them straight. I liked the reveal of Jem's true history and her grudging acceptance over the length of the book. I also like that even though she is surrounded by big strong overly protective werewolf males, they are the helpless ones and three women are the ones to save their collective butts.

Overall, I'd say that this was a decent read, probably better if you read the first book. It had a decent story, and characters. It was interesting and had a few twists. The beginning was slow and the characterization could use some assistance so it wasn't really a 5 star book. I'd give it 3.5 if that was a choice.

I would recommend to lovers of paranormal romance and lovers of werewolf stories. I would probably read the sequel if it fell in my lap although I probably wouldn't remember this book long enough to look for a sequel in a year.

Yet again this I had high hopes for this book it is the second book in the Holloway Series Pack and again the author excessed my expectations. The book was action packed and there were so many moment when I went I didn’t see that coming. I just wanted to keep reading more when it ended and wondered what the Author had in store for the next book but it looks promising.
In this book, Jem is well established as a female werewolf with the Holloway pack and mate to Sean. You would think that after the first book Jem’s journey of self-discovery was over you will be wrong. No Jem explores and faces that the facts that she comes from a powerful line of witches and she needs to tap into those powers to save her family and the pack time and time again with the help of her sister Jess.
You would also be wrong in thinking Jem is jealous because some of the boys have found girlfriends and the way the author has written the story it is easy to see that unless you take the time to really look at what is happening around Jem and why she is acting that way. Till finally both Sean and Nate believe her and help her set the boys free from the witches that are on the hunt to recreate a superior race of supernatural. Yes, Jem must come up again a coven of witches that broke away from their own coven because their belief in a superior race of supernatural by breading werewolves and witches.
The pack does not agree with Jem’s methods especially when Sean is taken hostage along with 2 other pack members for breading. With the Help of Jess Jem is awakening the witchy in her. There is also a surprise appearance of Nate’s wife and mother of Sean who sides with Jem on her mission to save the boys from the witches. Jem is determined to go it alone and protect the rest of the male pack members from falling into that greedy latches of the witches.
Again, this novel kept me entertained it was so well written that it keeps you wanting more. These novels are written and designed for young adults and adults of any age group. The intimate scenes are described enough so you know what happened and the feelings involved but are not graphic to turn you off. I just love this about this author
The information provided and the backstories of each character are well researched and developed and the author clearly shows a passion for things supernatural. Each scene or chapter is well set out and the pace of the book is easy flowing with no slow sections. It’s the kind of book if you want to escape for a day or weekend and get lost in a different world with eternity love and soul mates then this is the book and series for you. I highly recommend this book and its series for any avid reader of romance but wanting something different.
The Ending is the best but it creates a must must read the next book

I liked this book a lot more than the first one. I thought the storyline was more fluid and interesting and they established the pack nature quite a bit more. The only thing I had a problem with was how Jem acted with some of the pack, especially Josh. Perhaps it's a wolf thing, or a pack hierarchy with the lone female of the pack, but how touchy-feely she was with the guys other than Sean made me uncomfortable. I understand they are HER males since she is the female of the pack, but it bordered on incest for me and her treatment of Josh at times was just cruel since of course he is never going to get anywhere with her. I know it was just trying to be established how close she is with all of them, and especially Josh and how protective he is of him, and how she was reacting to what the witches were doing, but it got to be a bit too far for me. Even when Jem rescues them it states she covers Josh's sleeping form with kisses. And she's always crawling into everyone's laps. Just seemed a bit too pervy for me at times.

Also, when did she and Sean get matching tattoos? Did I miss that?

I did like the witch angle and Jem channel more of her magical side. I loved Jess's introduction to the pack and how the women saved the guys from being abused by the coven. And it will be interesting to see where the next book takes the story now that Josh is "lost" so to speak. I liked Jem a lot more in this book, she did not annoy me as much as she did in the second half of the first book. And I do like her and Sean's relationship. HOwever, it does seem like the sex scenes are just thrown in there and don't really jive with the rest of the story. The only one that fit for me was when Sean was all hopped up in the witches' love potion Jem was wearing. In fact I LOVED that whole part! The pack's reaction was hilarious. Nathan always trying to hold Jem back and Jem just doing what she wants anyway is getting old again. But other than that this series is pretty good.

This second installment in the Holloway Pack series is a wild romp. It is difficult to talk about this book without spoilers, so I will only say that the synopsis/description is a great tease. There is tons of action and Jem experiences an abundance of frustrations when those around her choose to not heed her warnings. Consequently she once again takes off on a tear to save the day, often without thinking things through before hand, which in my mind is her least likable character trait. Otherwise there are great bad guys you love to hate and emotional twists and turns that keep this journey alive. I found myself emotionally invested in the characters. There is love, laughter, tears, and anger in the telling and its definitely worth taking the ride. I do think it is important to have read book one prior to this installment as there so much world building and important back story that makes this book a better journey. I was given this book with a request for my honest review without any compensation whatsoever, other than the joy of reading a new book, and after starting it hopped over and bought book one as I felt I was missing something and that something affected my enjoyment of this story. I enjoyed the read very much and definitely recommend the series and that it be read in order.

Ms. Belfield delivers again! I love the Holloway pack. They are refreshing, fierce, clingy, loyal, loving, and sometimes down ride crazy. In this installment there are some women infringing on Jem’s territory, and her hackles are raised. She fights for what’s hers in a cut throat (literally) no-holds-bar domination, and she sure brings it.

There were a few grammatical errors and some slow spots that had me putting the book down with little resistance, which is why I have rated this book a 4, but overall it’s a good book. If you love werewolves, territorial pack members, witches, and a love story that stands through lifetimes, then the Holloway pack should be on your to-read list. I do recommend that you start with book one before picking this one up. Now I can’t wait until the next book!

I'd give this somewhere between 4♥-4½♥'s. I don't know why I waited so long, but it was more than worth the wait. Steamy pages with supernatural shenanigans... werewolves and more!

More to come, but I really enjoyed this and there are NO troubles if you haven't read the beginning books in the series.

I received this eBook from J.Taylor Publishing and J.A. Belfield in exchange for an honest review.
