The road to believing is often best traveled through a sea of questions, for in that space, insight is often born. The four strangers at the center of Credere find that their lives are intertwined through death. In heaven, Ida, Van, Macy, and Julius learn four important spiritual lessons; additionally, they learn that heaven is not a place of perfection, yet it embraces creativity, learning, and individuality. It's those spiritual traits that make heaven an ever-expanding, limitless state of greatness.
Exploring important current social themes, Credere shows that spiritual enlightenment welcomes all forms of human expression. Through both death and the act of rebirth, the characters learn that we all have our own divine heavenly purposes. Peace becomes the outcome when we travel an enlightened path on the road that leads to your heart's song a song of divine purpose. We only need to believe.
I won this book in a Goodread's Giveaway. I wasn't quite sure what to expect by the name, but after reading just the first few pages I was hooked. The story follows four individuals as they progress up to the fourth phase of heaven, learning much about themselves and about heaven during each phase. Following each character's journey was fascinating. I especially enjoyed reading of their visits back to earth and the perspectives they gained from that experience. It is a well told, interesting story that I truly enjoyed and I think you will too.
"Credere" is H.L. Balcomb's novel is about spiritual enlightenment and human expression. Balcomb follows four characters as they learn important lessons about creativity, learning, and individuality.
Throughout the book, I thought of Plato's quote, "Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back." That whisper may be your true passion, another person, or just a moment in time. Balcomb explains that creativity and personal expression are the greatest ways of achieving this moment, and peace.
I think this book is for everyone and at all ages. I truly believe this book is inspiring and can help someone to work through there grief. I lost someone in a car accident we were in 9 yrs ago ad I went into a deep depression and was very similar to one of the characters of the book, Rowan. He lost his lover and in losing his lover he lost himself. This book focuses on his lover and 3 other peoples journey through heaven. I wish I had this book 9 yrs ago I know it would have helped me cope. Even if you are not grieving this book is for you it will inspire you to be better on earth than you already are. Every life has a purpose both here and in heaven and this book reminds you of that. When you feel like someone's life was lost too soon or when you think you have no purpose know that you do!! I enjoyed this wonderful book and will continue to recommend it to all those I know.
I can understand why some people really like this book so I gave it three stars instead of two. At this point in my life, the book just wasn't quite my cup of tea.
