In Our Own Words: An Anthology of Poetry : From a Generation Fals (1997-03-16) [Mass Market Paperback]

Rate this book
Who are these people labelled Gen Xer's? What lies behind the hip marketing stereotypes? What makes this generation unique? This book, and subsequent book series, seeks to answer these questions via this generation's writers. Songwriters, journalists, poets, essayists, noevellists, academics. The complexity lying beneath the cool surface is great. Visit "the world" through their eyes.

Oh, the glorious angst and honesty in this cross-section of a generation. Let's light a candle of remembrance for Y2K. Such a hurting, disenfranchised world with their precious outbursts of hope in the midst of collapse. Poems of love, of nature, of suicidality, of fast food workers, and the victims of bigots. This pulled my heart out of my ass. We really are living the same lives on repeat decade after decade. Bless these poems.
