OMG! what an ending!
🔻 the beginning was a bit slow (but cute) & in the middle was a bit boring.
BUUUUUUUT...
🔺 in the end (not like 'the last page'. I mean the last 120 pages) everything was breathtaking!
I anticipated it!
& when it happened, I was like 'OMG, YESSSSS! FINALLY!' *internally screaming!*
loved it!
I was going to give it 3 stars, but this ending, this much excitements, definitely deserved more.
Michael, I like you! you strong, badass, sarcastic (but less than the 1st book), brave little soldier!
🔻 the writing style had less amount of jokes rather than the first book (Michael didn't joke about the plot was going on & it was just like a plain journal at some points)
🔺 but from time to time, I just burst out laughing, by a Quote from Jack, Michael or Zeus.
🔻 some parts had more middle grade-ish vibes than I expected.
🔻 & some parts was just a plain dialogue.

October 21, 2015Oh the rats! The RATS! I still shiver just thinking about them. It's such a crazy cool idea for a source of energy that goes terribly wrong! Have to start the next book immediately to see what happens to Michael and his friends. Wow! Love all the energy powers.

امتیاز واقعی این جلد 5 ستاره هست چون نسبت به جلد قبل بنظرم پیشرفت بیشتری داشت... ولی یسری ضعف هاش باعث شدن به 4 تا راضی بشم
هنوز جلدای بعد رو نخوندم ولی تا اینجای کار هچ یکی از دیوونه ترین، احمق ترین، رو مخ ترین و بیشعور ترین کاراکترایی هست که تو کل کتابام دیدم... اگه ببینمش حتماً با اره برقی از چند جا نصفش میکنم مردیکه رو... اه چندش... (نه بابا فشار چیه دارم میرقصم^-^)
توی شخصیت پردازی این جلد متاسفانه پیشرفت زیادی ندیدم (از دلایلی که 5 ستاره رو ندادم) ولی با این وجود شخصیت هاش دوست داشتنی بودن. شخصیت تنر به یکی از مورد علاقه های جدیدم اضافه شده. کلنجار رفتن هاش با خودش برام جالب بود و اینکه تهش چقدر تغییر کرد رو دوست داشتم

I must say I am incredibly glad I saw this on the shelf at a bookstore and decided to read it. The first one was Phenominale and I wish the third one would come out faster. But here's the gist of it. Michael is a very well thought out character who is very out going and brave. The story was a little Cliche but I enjoyed it none the less. It's one of those books you read just to know the good guy would win, get the girl, and save his family. It made me wonder why others gave soooooo much attention to Twilight and Harry Potter when there are amazing gold mines like this just sitting there and do they get all of the Media watching them or interview with the author? No. Yet I would Call this ((and please dont kill me, personal opinion)) better than Harry potter and Twilight. It was a comfort read, one where I knew that everything would turn out all right from the beginning, Yet it kept the pages flying and left me with piles of homework that I push off to the side just so I could read this book. I would recommend it to anyone who like's sic-fi or stuff like that. Until next time, and I doubt anyone reads my review but if you do I'll be back to you soon with my next review

Michael Vey 2: Rise of the Elgen By Richard Paul Evans
Michael Vey Rise of the Elgen is a second book to the Michael Vey series written by Richard Paul Evans! This is a second book in a series and the first one is called: Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25.
In the first book we find out that our main character Michael is the only kid in the family! And, so he lives with his mother. We also find out that he has these superpowers that when he wants too he can eltcuate them! During, the first novel he turns thirteen. And, he got a watch as a present from his Mom because it used to belong to his Dad. Which we also find out that his Dad somehow tragically died when he was five years old. Then, Michael his Mom, and Ostin, his best friend all went out to dinner together to celebrate his big thirteenth birthday. As they were getting done with dinner they walk out and a gunman is standing outside the door waiting for them. Because, he knows about Michael’s power and also because Taylor who is a cheerleader at school helps him because they have the same power. So Taylor look up this school they heard of and they got caught. Taylor got kidnap by evil Dr. Hatch. And the gunman worked for Dr. Hatch. So then the gunman kidnap his mother and took her to this academy.
From there on, Michael and Ostin found Taylor and got her free. But, then they had to go on this big quest to find Michael’s mother. And so the quest continues in the second book…
Let’s get to know our characters a little better! Michael: he is our protagonist of the story and leader of the group call: The Electroclan. Then there’s Ostin: which his mother missed spelled his name because they were born in Texas. And it’s spell Austin. Not Ostin. Which I thought was funny!
Anyways… Ostin is our computer geek and Michael’s best and only friend. Well before they meet Taylor.
Taylor is this tall sophomore (Or was a sophomore) blond girl. She’s also the school’s cheerleader. Which quickly caught Michael’s attention. And they are boyfriend and girlfriends.
Anyways, in the second book of this series it left off right where we were in the first book. So you don’t need to re-read the first book before going into this one. The whole gang escapes the Elgen’s academy and so they had to go back to Michael’s house. So they got to Michael’s house and had to make a whole new plan to find Michael’s mother. Because, they have some clues of where she might be!
As they go on they all meet this guy who owns a plane and who hate Dr. Hatch! So, then the person agrees with Michael in helping out to find his mom. This was Michael’s first time flying in an airplane too! As they got to their destination they landed in a rainforest! The whole gang goes on this other big quest to find Michael’s mother.
As they got to where Dr. Hatch’s “Secret hid-out” they see Mrs. Vey with Dr. Hatch! But, of course they can’t just have his mother unless someone stays behind…
For me this sequel was a little slow and a little more serious than the first book because the first one was: Getting to know the world and having a grand old time! But this one we already know the world and we know what might happen next.
Overall, I really enjoyed this sequel. It was a little slow like I said before. But, it was really good. Overall rating is a: 4.5/5 stars! I really enjoyed it!

This is the second in the series; I recommend reading them in order.
Michael’s mom is missing, and this time he gets outside help from a mysterious source, which he nicknames the Voice. We also see the relationship between Hatch and the Elgen board of directors start to fracture here. The last third is action-packed and very suspenseful and a lot of fun. The characters are a lot of fun, and Hatch is so creepy and evil.

Intense, Gripping, Secrets, Twists & Turns! A Exciting Read! I Loved It!

This book. Oh gosh. Somehow this was one of my favorites when I was younger. But I just didn't get it. Like the characters in here were so boring and flat. All the girls were the exact same. The guys had a little bit of a difference but not much. Male authors just never do it for me, this was a very sexist book. The girls are portrayed as weak and cry a lot, I mean there was some instances where they took charge but it felt very forced like Mr. Evans was trying to make sure you knew he wasn't being sexist but it didn't work. While the boys were the "big strong men here to save the day" that never cried and were all tough. *eeeyyyeeee rooooll* The characters were not real AT ALL. Felt nothing for them. Honestly wouldn't even have cared if they died. Actually that would've made it better. Give a little spice.
Oh oh, can I just touch on the fact that HOW IN THE FREAKIN HECK DID TAYLOR AND MICHAEL BECOME GIRL FRIEND AND BOY FRIEND AFTER JUST LIKE A COUPLE DAYS OF KNOWING EACH OTHER!!!!!!! Um, no. That is not realistically possible. You barely know the dude. And do not say that you love each other because that is buuuull craaap! You don't even know what love is. Heck I don't even know what it is.
I feel like the plot could've been great... the whole book had the potential to be great, if it was just written better. I cringed at every sentence. It was just so juvenile.
Ummm what else can I dis on. Oh, heck to the no do you get to keep comparing your fake experiences to traumatic WWII things. Like N. O.
I am so glad I'm done with this. I will not waste anymore time with these so I'm done with this series.
I mean don't let this stop you. If you're looking for a quick juvenile read and you don't want to get attached this one's good but there are a whole lot better ones that you could read before this.

While the writing is ok - mostly fast-paced and definitely held my interest - this one suffered the frequent "sophomore slump". Yes, I understand this is science fiction. Yes, I've read science fiction before. No, science fiction isn't my favorite genre, but I still finished the book.
If I were being nit-picky, which I really try not to, I could list several things that I felt were thrown in just because the author could. They didn't really add to the plot, nor even the enjoyment of reading. They seemed to be just filler material. But I'm not really in the mood to enumerate those things.
Let's just jump to my final thoughts:
1. I still think there are too many characters that are just peripheral. It's too hard to keep track of all of them.
2. There seemed to be barely disguised mini-sermons. I say this because there were a couple times I thought (while reading) that I was feeling manipulated. I dislike this approach. Mini-sermons are fine if they are overt, or are more thoroughly disguised.
3. Even though it is peopled with teenagers, it didn't quite feel like teens were the target audience.
4. This one is quite personal: I abhor rats. Making them electric and mob-mentality-ruled (and in massive quantities) bothered me even more. (Nit-picking here - it was clearly stated how high these rats could jump, but when the kids were trying to escape through the tunnels the rats somehow couldn't/didn't jump up and get them? Disconnect for me.)
5. I'm not fond of cliff-hanger endings. I like things resolved, wrapped up in paper and tied with a bow. The exception to this is a sequel that is readily and immediately available. By the time the new book comes out, I will have forgotten - or no longer care - what happened to everyone. I really get irritated when things are just left hanging.
Final tally - 2 stars. Wish I could do better, but this is, after all, a subjective forum. We'll see what the next installment brings.

Amazing book better then the fist book

My two complaints: This book came out on the second day of school... right as I'm trying to get my kids back in school! Even though I had limited time, I squeezed in some time to read this book because I really liked the first book. The second complaint: The cliffhanger that has me waiting another year (and I just heard that this is a 6-book series - Yikes!).
Michael and his friends escape the Elgen, meet an anonymous ally (known as "the Voice") who helps them with one of the escapes and gives them the resources to get to Peru, and penetrate a heavily-guarded fortress in Peru to rescue his mother. It takes the talents of all the electric children, the brains of Ostin, and the brawn of Jack and Wade... plus a few new characters and one more defector to make it all happen!
We also learn in this book how evil Dr. Hatch really is... some of those parts were a little disturbing, but necessary to show what Michael Vey and the Electroclan are really up against!
I can't wait to read the next book in this series... I only wish it would come out sooner... *sigh*
Now to clean my house which has been severely neglected while I read this book and got my kids back in school... ;-)

Michael and his friends are on the run from the Elgen corporation and Dr. Hatch. They figure out Michael's mother is being held as a prisoner in Peru and have a mysterious ally help them get there. We also learn more about the Elgen's plans for world domination; the Peru facility is one of the key components.
I am really enjoying this series. I am totally going to recommend it to my 5th and 7th grader to read for summer reading. It is action packed, the characters are all interesting, and I like how Michael is wary of his role as a hero. The battle between the Electro-Clan and the Elgen is just warming up! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Ok I like this book more than the first one. It kinda felt more adventurous cause they were going more places and the setting changed a lot. We also got into the dynamics of Elgen and more about who they are and what they do. Along with where Hatch sits in all of that. This book was full of a lot of unexpected things and was a very interesting read.

i really enjoyed this! i don’t know if i liked it as much as the first one but it was super action packed and i had a lot of fun
i am really growing to love these characters and i just enjoyed spending time with them. ostin is still my favorite but they all are super interesting
also the rat element was cool and i have never really read anything like it except it kind of reminded me of 1984
anyways this was a lot of fun and i can’t wait to start the third book!

This book was just as good as the first. The stories tied together almost perfectly, and I couldn't stop reading it. In this book the Elgen are using electric rats to produce electricity at almost no cost. They plan to build plants all over the world and monopolize the power industry. Countries would have to obey their every command, or they would shut down their power. I'd recommend it to people who like Science Fiction, but you should probably read the first book first.

و با دومین جلد مجموعه مایکل وی رو به رو هستیم. تصمیم گرفتم برای هر کدام از جلدهای مجموعه ریویویی جداگانه بنویسم. به همین دلیل شاید این ریویو برای کسانی که جلد اول را نخوانده اند تا حدی لو دهنده باشد.
در انتهای جلد اول مایکل و دوستانش موفق می شوند آکادمی مخصوص نیروهای خبیث قصه را نابود کنند و چند بچه الکتریکی دیگر به گروهشان اضافه کنند. الکتروکلن از یک تیم سه نفر به یک تیم ده نفره تبدیل می شود. هفت نفر از آنها نیروهای ویژه دارند و سه نفر بچه های عادی هستند که برای کمک مایکل به گروه پیوسته اند.
همین جا باید بگویم که ابتدای کار از زیاد شدن دوست های مایکل و بچه های الکتریکی خوشحال شدم، اما کمی جلوتر نویسنده کاملاً ناامیدم کردم. برای چنین داستانی چنین گروه پرجمعیتی بیشتر از جالب بودن، دست و پا گیر بود. در قسمت هایی که عملیات گروه نیاز به پنهان کاری و مخفی شدن داشت نمی فهمیدم چطور این لشکر ده نفره در یک سوراخ قایم می شوند و ضدقهرمان ها پیدایشان نمی کنند؟ از طرفی نویسنده خودش هم میان این همه شخصیت گیج شده بود. شخصیت ها در جلد دوم بیشتر یک اسم و یک توانایی الکتریکی بودند و نمی توانستیم به آنها نزدیک شویم یا درکشان کنیم. این مشکل حتی تا جلد پنجم هم ادامه داشت. از طرفی همان طور که در ریویو جلد اول گفتم رفتار و انگیزه های شخصیت ها باورپذیر نبود. در جلد دوم همه ی آنها تصمیم میگیرند برای نجات مادر مایکل به پرو سفر و نیروگاه بزرگ ضدقهرمان داستان را نابود کنند. دقیقا نمی فهمیدم این ده نفر با چه انگیزه و نیروی پیش برنده تصمیم به انجام چنین عملیات خطرناکی می گیرند. از آن عجیب تر برخوردهای جک و وید است. جک و وید بچه قلدرهای مدرسه هستند که دائماً مایکل را کتک می زدند اما در جلد دوم حاضرند برای او جانشان را هم بدهند. نمی گویم که چنین تغییری در شخصیت ها غیرممکن است. مساله ام این است که برای رسیدن به چنین تغییر شگرفی نیاز به زمان و اتفاقات متوالی داریم. چیزی که ما در داستان پیدایش نمی کنیم.
به نظرم یکی از دلایل شخصیت پردازی ضعیف، کم بودن صحنه های کم هیجان در داستان است. شاید از دور این طور به نظر برسد که هر قدر هیجان صحنه های داستان بیشتر باید داستان پرکشش تر خواهد بود. اما همان طور که اصول داستان نویسی می گوید و کتاب مایکل وی هم ثابتش می کند. صحنه های پرهیجان پشت سر هم خواننده را عصبی و خسته می کند. گاهی اوقات از خودم می پرسیدم واقعا ممکن نیست فقط یک لحظه کسی به مایکل و دوستانش حمله نکند یا در موقعیت دهشت انگیزی نباشند و بدون دغدغه بنشنیند و باهم صحبت کنند و منِ خواننده هم کمی نفس بکشم؟ نویسنده خواننده را چندین فصل معطل می کرد تا شخصیت ها را به خانه امنی برساند، اما بلافاصله در طی یک حادثه به آن خانه امن هم حمله می شد و دوباره مجبور به درگیری و فرار می شدیم. از طرفی اگر صحنه ی آرامی وجود داشت به سرعت از آن عبور میکرد. مثلا زمانی که بچه های یک هفته ای بدون درگیری در جایی اقامت کردند. به جای اینکه حوادث کم هیجان این یک هفته را برای ما روایت کند به سرعت از آن عبور کرد. فقدان همین صحنه های آرام کم هیجان باعث می شد نویسنده فرصتی برای معرفی شخصیت ها نداشته باشد. فرصتی که آنها باهم حرف بزنند، بخندند، غذا بخورند و ما از خلال این اتفاقات معمولی متوجه رفتارهایشان بشویم. این مشکل در جلد سوم هم وجود داشت و در جلد چهارم به طور حیرت انگیزی برطرف شد.
مساله بعدی امتداد خشونت است. خشونت جلد دوم شاید نسبت به باقی جلدهای مجموعه بیش از حد بالاست. شخصیت خبیث داستان در تمام طول داستان می خواهد همه را به خورد موش ها الکتریکی بدهد و روند این مرگ شکنجه وار را مدام با جزییات توصیف می کند. توصیفی که برای بزرگسالی مثل من هم آزاردهنده است. به طور کلی «هتچ» سردسته ی شرورهای داستان بیش از اندازه شرور است. بیش از اندازه دروغ می گوید، بیش از اندازه آدم ها را شکنجه می کند، بیش از اندازه آدم می کشد. گاهی اوقات فکر می کنم در جهان واقعی چنین شرارتی زمان زیادی دوام نمی آورد. حتی اگر بسیار هم پولدار باشد و همه را بخرد به چیزی از جنس وفاداری هم نیاز دارد تا بتواند ادامه بدهد. چیزی که در رفتارهای هتچ پیدایش نمی کنیم.
یکی از نکات مثبت کتاب مایکل وی به نظرم آنجاست که نقشه های قهرمان ها اغلب روتین و بدون مشکل پیش نمی رود. حتما در زندگی واقعی تجربه کرده ایم که برای انجام یک پروژه ساده به هزاران مشکل برمی خوریم. اما در داستان ها معمولا شخصیت ها بدون مشکل طبق نقشه شان پیش می روند. ولی در مایکل وی چنین اتفاقی نمی افتد، اغلب اوقات نقشه ها به خاطر مشکلات کوچک شکست می خورد. آنجایی که منتظریم همه چیز حل شود، مساله ای پیش می آید و کل نقشه نقش بر آب می شود. بعد نفسمان می گیرد و منتظریم ببینیم نویسنده چطور شخصیت ها را از این مخمصه جدید بیرون می آورد.
انتهای جلد دوم هم همین طور تمام می شود، خیالمان راحت است که الکتروکلن به راحتی ماموریت را به انجام رسانده و حالا می تواند به خانه برگردد. اما همه چیز بهم می ریزد و نویسنده ما را با نگرانی به سمت جلد سوم روانه می کند...

An excellent book. Made for a great family read-a-loud. One thing to note, Richard Paul Evans promoted this series as one that was supposed to be as action-packed as other popular young adult books such as Harry Potter and Hunger Games, but without being as dark and demented. I would say that the first book of the series lived up to that claim, but this second book exposed much more of the villian in this story and was much darker. Some of the death scenes were especially gruesome and might be traumatic for a younger reader. While not being as dark and traumatic as say the Hunger Games, I don't think it lives up to the advertizing.
False advertizing aside, the book was exciting, fun to read, and hard to put down.
The ending is a complete cliff-hanger leaving you frothing at the mount for the next installment of the series.

Richard Paul Evans took an interesting turn in the plot of his Michael Vey series in book two: Rise of the Elgen. The next book in the series follows Michael and the Electroclan as they escape the Elgen in book one, and later try to find his mother. While trying to locate her the Elgen keeps on attacking and a mysterious voice seems to be watching them.... Or is he? Will Michael succeed in finding his mother and escaping the Elgen?
Book two in the Michael Vey franchise was a good book. It didn't live up to its predecessor, but I can't say that it was a bad book. I would recommend it to people who like The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson) novels. It is another adventure novel with an average written main character, but unfortunately, it didn't bring anything new to the table.
I did appreciate it that there was a use of real world facts. Ostin, Michael's best friend (he isn't a Glow), is some type of the new "Einstein." He constantly comes up with new plans by using logical thinking and real world information, like when he It was really neat how the real world knowledge tied into the fictional ideas also.
I liked also the development of Zeus. In my The Prisoner of Cell 25 review, I said that he was a character that was just there. Now, he grew into an awesome part of the team. He is a great fighter and loyal to Michael at all costs. He's grown into a character that can be truly admired.
I also mentioned that I disliked Wade and Tara.
This didn't change. Though Zeus went through so much character development... I can't say the same about Tara and Wade. First of all, Wade. He was there with the Electroclan, trying to spice up the atmosphere with a few jokes and.... that's about it. He never had a big role in the book. I can almost foresee his death in the next few novels, as it surely will come. Almost as if he was only written to be killed off. I think that in total, he said about 20 lines of dialogue in the WHOLE ENTIRE NOVEL.
Boohoo for Tara.
I found her tolerable in book 1 as she had at least a purpose. She and Taylor had a well written love-turned-to-hate sister relationship. In book two, however, she was there to be Taylor's evil twin. She fooled Mrs. Vey into thinking that she was Taylor, though she didn't really succeed. She tried to fool Michael... and didn't succeed. AAAAAnd..... she did nothing else. No character development, no nothing, nada. Almost as if she was a nothing.
I have to say that this plot line also dragged a bit. Some moments I found myself rereading the same line over and over and over and over and over, just because I was falling asleep, because of the nothingness happening. Compared to the first novel in the franchise, this is an ant compared to a mountain. I expected a little, sorry, a LOT more from the author in this novel.
This was a good book to read. It pulled me up out of my book hangover after A Court of Wings and Ruin, but it had a long way to match its predecessor.

I kinda really hate how Micheal gets more powerful every books. And it’s like he just got other people’s powers like the whole magnetism thing.
Feeding people to rats is kind lame. I get hatch is a despicable human but that kinda feels like he was just trying to find things for him to do that make him evil.
I feel Richard kinda strays from the plot. He searched for the children for 15 years, so he could study them, recruit them, blah blah etc… At the beginning of the book (or earlier on at least) he talked about their Re-Ed and how they broke people to be more loyal or something. Like why did he spend 15 years (more or less) looking for these kids just to capture them, say “you gonna join me? No? Okay.. 🐀🐀🐀🧑🍳🧑🍳” like dude break them and get them to join you. That’s at least how I feel the plot should have proceeded.
Next is Zeus and the sprinklers. First off, I hate how Ostin tells Zeus he has to shoot the sprinklers. Please! Just let Zuessie boi have his moment! Also mildly infuriating that he doesn’t die, and not only does he just chill there, Abbie is there to take away his pain. And then he’s healed in two days?? Get me some of that aloe please.
Overall this book is definitely my favorite in the series!! I know it doesn’t sound like it but it’s probably true.

I know this really isnt a book report but my phone is absolutely broken atm and I had to copy and paste all this from the book reports I was doing for a family member sorry it isnt the best but I hope it can do the job my phone does super fast like my phone was at 100% 15 minutes ago and now I'm on 25
Micheal Vey (the main boy) escaped with some of the kids that has the powers and they were driving back home to find Michaels mother in Idaho but she was taken by dr hatch and they made it home but dr hatch sent people to get the kids who escaped and now they are trying to run from the people but also trying to find their mom
Micheal, jack, Zues, Taylor, Ostin, Wade, Ian, McKenna, Abigail and Jack's sister are all the kids who have the powers (Besides Ostin, he is the nerdy one to help them get records and stuff). They are all still running from Dr. Hatch but something that the kids dont know is that their is trackers in both of the cars As they get to Ostins house, they decide not to take him home for safety reasons, so they go to this nail salon type thing (doesnt really tell us why) but then their is a lady that gives micheal a phone and the phone rings as soon as he picks the phone up. A man who non of the kids know is talking to micheal and telling them that Hatch and all the other bad guys are chasing them. They have to trust this guy and go to a certain spot to ditch their cars and get new ones. They get into the new hummers and go to this safe house. Their is a computer that Ostin is using to retrieve all the data that they stole from hatch by tranfering it to the computer from Jack's sisters head. Jack and Abigail go to get pizza for everyone. When they left Ostin was trying to find where Micheals mom is. But as they are getting somewhere Ian notices that both of the hummers are still in the garage and BOOM Dr. Hatch's people go in and capture the kids and take them to the airport.
the kids never got taken to the airport, they were in the process of it but then all the kids got out and destroyed all of the vehicles that were guarding the vehicle that the kids were in. Their was one last car and boom it blew up into a thousand pieces, the kids then got picked up by one of their friends and taken too his house as they thought they got away the man that was on the phone / the people that are trying to help th e kids gave them another call saying that their was a ton if the people that were going after the kids so the kids had to hide and their friend had to answer the door and tell them that no one was their and that he just tucked his little sister in for bed but before that they found out they were getting tracked by something and 2 of the kids are GP's and they got tracking devices in their arm so they had to burn it out.
Okay so they were able to upload the stuff to the computer and they found where micheals mom is then they went to a beagle place and one of Taylor's friends was there and taylor was frozen and didnt know what to do so she rebooted her friend so she didnt remember taylor also they got out of their and went to a new beagle place but taylor really wanted to see her family and friends and her old life but then their phone rang and it was the man saying good job then micheal told them that they found his mom and that she's in Peru and that they need to get their but the but the only way that they get their is if they trade grace because grace doesnt have a powerful power that will do anything so they trade her for the trip to Peru and everyone is agreeing
So after taylor saying she wanted to go home she decided to stay and grace also did too so grace is not that powerful as all the other kids are she wanted to stay and not go with the other people that are trying to protect micheal and all the other kids, but micheal thought they were setting all of them up but was only trying to protect them but micheal was starting to trust them again and they are having all the kids go to peru to find micheals mom but they said they cant help the kids once they get to the place where his mom is located. Micheal went out to the pool while everyone was sleeping so he could relieve some stress, but he found a new thing about his body that he didnt know before. He could make electric balls the size of ping pong balls and then his best friend ostin came out and when micheal showed him he was very very happy and amazed. All the kids were practicing their powers to make them stronger and as they were practicing them the guy called the kids to tell them they were going to peru in the morning
So they are going to the airport to go to peru to go get micheals mom but little did they know that the place is filled with security and elgen workers also hatch is their but then it goes and shows hatches POV and how he is talking to the workers / doctors that fix th e kids and one doctor is being kinda sassy to hatch and said he will fire her but when people get fired by hatch they pretty much go missing because elgen is a top secret facility worldwide and top secret stuff but now right now the kids are trying to get a way inside

They meet a guy that takes the kids through a jungle to get to the facility they reach the facility and find micheals mom, but as they do they get captured and micheal extremely wants to go home but this new guy named tommy says that they aren't going home
Micheal Vey (the main boy) escaped with some of the kids that has the powers and they were driving back home to find Michaels mother in Idaho but she was taken by dr hatch and they made it home but dr hatch sent people to get the kids who escaped and now they are trying to run from the people but also trying to find their mom
Micheal, jack, Zues, Taylor, Ostin, Wade, Ian, McKenna, Abigail and Jack's sister are all the kids who have the powers (Besides Ostin, he is the nerdy one to help them get records and stuff). My feelings for the series, so far, have remained the same; though there is a flaw or two, I can look past that and still enjoy the series. It still makes my heart race faster and my ears hot with every one of Hatch's sermons. And the rats.
Speaking of rats, this book gets a little darker than its predecessor. Since rats have become such a common phobia, with good understanding, they are used as not only the source of the main plot device, but as a physical and a psychological torture device.
Also, this sequel acts as a bulk for more character development, which is why there are some slow parts here and there and much more than the first book had, which was more about action and adventure.

I'm re-reading this series because I never got around to finishing it--but I remember how much I loved it. This book confirmed that love for me. I just think it's so cool how these kids are so badass, but also so pure at heart.
But I also really enjoy the fact that there's an obvious villain--not an anti-hero, just a person you genuinely dislike. It feels reminiscent of those movies where it's clear who the villain and the hero is. Will hopefully listen to the third book later this month!

May 23, 2017This bok is fast paced and action packed. The author Richard Paul Evans does a good job in not dragging stuff out too far but just enough. The main character is cool but my favorite is Zeus a round character who started out bad and became good. He is really powerful but cant shower so is made fun of for smells (he cant shower without hurting himself.) The end of the book is great because, Michael Vey takes the energy from electric rats and then vaporizes them.
