I finished reading the book yesterday, 051313.

My Opinion & review:
I had high hopes for this biography. I thought it was going to be specifically about Barbara Marx Hubbard's Spiritual Gifts & growth; it wasn't so much. It was about her following her intuition, with passion, to fulfill her life's purpose; with the emphasis on how she worked to fulfill it and the many, many, many people she met along the way who helped her fulfill her life's purpose. Her intuition & spiritual gifts were rarely mentioned.

The first 70 pages I ripped through in one night; which is rare for me. It shows how she was connected to a strong desire for pursuing an unconventional life from an early age. She called her passion for her life purpose The Hunger. This part of the story was great because this was happening in the 50's when women were barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. She wanted more than that 'normal' existence. That's what intrigued me so... How she went against the grain.

Then I get to the 2nd third of the book and it turns into a detailed account of all the people in high places and/or with money who helped her put her dreams into motion. From here on out, I wasn't so interested in this biography.

There is lots of mention of her passion to have humans live on other planets (because she was highly passionate about space exploration.) She was also passionate about everyone being One/our Oneness. She was also passionate about getting people together from different areas and finding ways to make them all understand and respect each other, in order to move & grow the Universe forward. For them to look at the big Universal / Oneness picture instead of just their niche. i.e. science, space exploration, spiritual, political, etc.

If these areas she is passionate about pique your interest, then you may enjoy reading Barbara's biography. If you, like me, are just interested in her Spiritual Growth, I wouldn't recommend this book.
