honestly, it's a very underrated book. I wish it was talked more in the book community. I understand that it's probably not the best because of the misspells it has at the beginning of the book, but the plot itself, and especially the romance that bloomed, was absolutely heart-touching. Reading this felt like riding the trickiest roller-coaster ever, if I were to give a note to everyone before they read this book, don't have high expectations of the ending and don't get too attached to any characters.

overall, it was such a good short read, and I very much enjoyed it :)

I will never forget the two warring small states of Wu and Yue in the fifth century BC in Eastern China, and their fighting kings, one trusting and one greedy and underhanded.. I love the innocent beauty of country girl, Hsi Shih, a pawn to her king, but a lover of the other. War, love, intrigue. A real page turner.

A lot of English issues, and it was a bit hard to follow sometimes with all the names being so similar. However, it was an interesting story, and if I come across another of his books for cheap I may read it. He painted a nice picture.
