This book has some good ideas to glean.

It borderlines "prayer incantations."

Clearly the authors have a great respect and awe for the power of prayer.

This is a book that covers methods and ideas behind the practice of walking through your community for the purposes of prayer.

The authors begin by making a biblical case for the power of prayerwalking. I found some of the examples from Scripture to be a bit of a stretch and probably unnecessary to give. I'm not sure why we always feel the need to justify something good by finding examples of it in the Bible or stretching things to fit what we are looking for. There were also, however, lots of helpful examples within this section as well.

After this, the book moves on to practical ways in which to engage in prayerwalking including helpful tips and lots of sharing from others personal experiences to help people get started.

If you're looking for some more variety in your own personal prayers or the prayer ministry of you church or organization, this could be a helpful read for you.

Just finished reading this book in preparation for a little mini-missions trip I'm going on with some friends. The concepts are great (praying the Scriptures, recognizing what God is already doing, blessing and not condemning those you're praying for, etc) but I found much of the book to be repetitive. I felt like I could have read the first few chapters and quit after that without missing too much else. There's something to be said for development and something to be said for overkill.
Overall, glad I read it. It gave me a solid conviction on how to pray for those that I'll be ministering to in RI. I would recommend it if you are wondering how to minister to a community or people group in a different way.

I am not the target audience.

I bought this book because I heard that there was a book called Prayerwalking which was full of prayers for walkers. I didn't know that there are actually several books called Prayerwalking and that most of them about a Protestant/evangelical prayer movement.

I did read the book through and it did provide me with some insight into the evangelical mind. It just wasn't what I hoped for.

In this book, the authors define what they mean by prayerwalking and provide a good case for the value of it. They then go on to provide practical guidelines for prayerwalking. They offer a balanced and sane approach to praying in the context of spiritual warfare. They take spiritual warfare seriously, but they remind the reader that we should not focus on the demons that may be lurking behind every corner. Rather, our focus should be on the God whose power defeats our spiritual enemies. Personal stories from veteran prayerwalkers are sprinkled throughout the book to reinforce the stated principles.
